Also didn't her mom say Kelsey hadn't gotten a tree yet because she thought her fiance might be getting one?
Yes.

“She’s been happy,” CB said. “She’s been wanting to decorate for Christmas and was excited about that, but she thought she thought maybe her fiancee and Kaylee were planning to get the Christmas tree themselves. And so, she’s been holding off on buying something.”

This is from a new article today. Most of it is a recap except this part with a quote from LE today:

Thursday, December 13th 2018
"According to police, Frazee told authorities he picked up the couple's daughter, Kaylee, from Kelsey that afternoon. Susan Medina, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, said Thursday that police would not speculate on why the couple was exchanging their daughter on the holiday."

Investigation yields few clues on missing Colorado woman

Something about the exchange is hinky. We know that but what could it be?
I've read that she dropped the baby off at his house and that the exchange took place at an undisclosed location. I suppose his house could be the unverified location. I wish we knew.

It is odd that they seem to have arrangements as if they are separated and have shared custody. Maybe because the family is religious they refer to him as her "fiancee?" Maybe they are actually not planning to be married at all.
Normally a couple with a new baby would want to experience things together. I don't see any other reason for them to live apart other than they don't plan on being a couple and plan on shared custody of the child. Imo

After all that about the meaning of the cinnamon buns, it turns out she ate them for breakfast and left the leftovers on the stovetop. Not baking to go to a Thanksgiving event, not left untouched after taking them out of the stove.
Good catch.

So there are still thoughts that Kelsey "walked" away from her life. Leaving with no possessions other than a phone and purse. No cars missing. Buns on the counter. No alarms raised with her mother on the last phone calls. No effort to leave things in order in her absence. No reports from authorities backing up her walking away;. withdrawals, texts etc. The investigators would probably not create a situation where fingers are pointing at innocents when they suspect otherwise. Nationwide awareness of her plight and no sightings- she would have to be intentionally avoiding detention. Possible options for leaving on her accord:

1) Kelsey left and went away with someone that no one knows about, and she is fine. She could potentially stay out of view for a month, as her "unknown" companion could leave the paper trail. Her prior contact with this person would have to have no electronic signature. My guess at number of past cases remotely close to this situation= zero.

2) Kelsey left with a plan to stay of the grid despite reports that she is not a hiker or outdoorsy. Hard to find a place to stay although with someone cooperating, although it is possible. Need a significant amount of cash, solid preparations, and some effort at disguise for cash transactions. My guess at number of past cases remotely close to this situation involving a female= zero.

3) She leaves with someone she met, and the investigators have missed the clues. A month later and no evidence has been uncovered to support this scenario. My guess at number of highly publicized cases with gross negligence by the FBI; and involving a female= zero.

4) Kelsey walks away and commits suicide. This happens obviously more than we would like. Usually there are a least subtle warning signs, none obvious with Kelsey. She seemed a bit isolated in Woodland Park without a lot of acquaintances, so we really don't know her state of mind. If she did this, she would have had to intentionally do it in a way that her body would not easily be found. This would be unusual for a female suicide, basically causing increased and prolonged pain for her family. My guess at number of past cases remotely close to this situation involving a female= maybe zero or one?

Certainly there are more options and they would get more extreme and bizarre. Low probability with what ever is proposed.

Considering all the circumstances around her disappearance, it seems to me that there is no chance Kelsey left on her own accord. I hope for options 1 -3 and anything similar, but to me there only seems to be foul play involved, with the intent for her to never be found. I cannot come up with any other explanation when considering the details surrounding her disappearance.
Completely agree with you. Humans are essentially creatures of habit. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. For a woman with no history of ever leaving home unprepared, and without communicating her whereabouts with family and/or friends, the chance of KB walking away on 11/22 and never looking back are slim to none. Even KB's occupation and talent represent a serious minded individual, and disappearing without a trace simply don't fit her profile. Most important, leaving her child behind with no contact after 3 weeks is a very strong indicator that KB is not able to communicate with anybody, period. And I've purposely left PF out of the equation to present some realistic talking points. MOO

Yep. This is what I have for Thanksgiving.
  1. Kelsey made cinnamon rolls for breakfast
  2. Kelsey called her mom about a recipe. The call was interrupted so KB could tend to the baby. 2nd call with mom.
  3. Kelsey went to Safeway with K
  4. PF picked up K
  5. Kelsey disappears with her purse

Yes, I think it’s very odd they weren’t living together, so it tells me there was a problem with the relationship.

“Kelsey don’t go out in public without a shower, hair done, and makeup applied. All these items remain untouched. We know she made cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Thanksgiving, the remainder are still on the stovetop.”
Colorado mom missing since Thanksgiving

CB lives in Idaho and said the two of them talked on the phone twice on Thanksgiving. The call got interrupted because Kelsey had to take care of her 14-month-old daughter. CB said nothing sounded out of the ordinary in those conversations.

“She’s been happy,” CB said. “She’s been wanting to decorate for Christmas and was excited about that, but she thought she thought maybe her fiancee and Kaylee were planning to get the Christmas tree themselves. And so, she’s been holding off on buying something.”

So it appears that she made the cinnamon rolls for breakfast and some had been eaten because the remainder were on the stove top. She didn't make them to take to a dinner or for some kind of peace offering. It sounds like she didn't clean up right away.

Kelsey doesn't go out without her hair done or makeup yet her mom says her hair wasn't done when she went to Safeway. Maybe she was a frazzled mom going through a rough time.

Good point. When you couple that with the phrase “exchanging custody,” it doesn’t speak well to the health of their relationship.

Something is off here.
Exactly.

Part of me is glad that we are only learning the truth about those cinnamon buns right now.

That was one hell of a discussion last night. :p:D

I think she just needed to get to the store to get the ingredients for whatever she was going to make. Maybe she was going to shower, do makeup and hair while little K was napping? I don't see any signs that she was frazzled - just busy. MOO

FYI-
Experiencing major depression and anxiety from a rough year, I checked myself into a facility the week before Thanksgiving.
There was a van available from the hospital to pick me up at my door if need be.
There was no need to pack, the hospital had everything for me.
I only brought my purse and phone, which were locked in a safe on arrival.

I think all we know for sure is that there were two text messages sent on the 25th and that is the last known time the phone was used. Imo

I think it is shocking that she did not text or call her Mother to let her know she was going to be "out of pocket" for a week. Why nothing for her Mother?

I see a positive outcome in this case scenario: what if Kelsey texted PF that she is on a verge of having a mental breakdown and needs time to be alone and asked him not to tell anyone where she is? This would explain why he didn't report her missing. If she had a large amount of cash with her that would also explain why she is not using her credit cards. I wonder if LE checked phone records for KB and PF.

I'd love for this scenario to be true. From your mouth to God's ears, as they say.

True, but if you were reported missing, law enforcement would still be able to check if you were hospitalized.

Besides that, this case is national, and many people work at those facilities. Someone would have realized that she was there by now.

So apparently she never made it home and disappeared sometime after she dropped the child off. Was it verified that she never went back home?

What it doesn't explain is why PF wouldn't pass along the information to Kelsey's parents. PF never reported her missing, her parents did. If she had a large amount of cash with her, where did it come from? Absolutely LE is checking phone records because they already started with the ping/texts. JMO

At this point are definitely more reasons to believe there was a problem in the relationship, than there are to believe there wasn't.

And we all saw her on video entering Safeway -- I believe she looked very presentable if I do say so myself! MOO
