ok, thanks. it's interesting to me that if PF did tell CB that KB broke up with him then that maybe the one truth that PF let slip and probably the reason KB is no longer alive. but, just my opinion.
Don't you think he was planning to kill her anyway? Hence the solicitation for 2 months prior?

But it doesn't explain the intensely stick question as to why would KK go visit PF if he had also threatened her children ?
It doesn't unless that was potentially exaggerated by BFF and/or the R's. IMO no matter what, she made horrible choices to get in this situation, but it could be an alternative to the other extreme of her being a mastermind/ doing it herself. MOO

I assume whatever vehicle she drove has been taken for evidence.

I don't get why the phone pings so near her home. Why not toss it under a semi as you're driving along. Why did she want it?

@PommyMommy

This is what made me think about discrepancies.
You can call it a discrepancy if you like, but it was what the family was told at the time. Information changes as an investigation progresses. They later learned that PF actually picked up the baby and CB asked the Aunt to delete her post.

But then again, why set up KK? What if she had recorded him? What if she had proof he was involved--which I believe she does. So that makes me think he wasn't trying to pin it on her.

The one thing I think he didn't realize (and failed to plan for) is KK telling her friends, who turned around and told people at their workplaces...and perhaps so on and so on. For all we know, half the town of Twin Falls knew about it. And ultimately, it's her mouth that brought that tip in on 12/17. If it hadn't been for that, we may not be where we are today with this case.

Because PF's story was she was going to Idaho to visit her sick grandmother I think.

If he told Kelsey’s family that, it was incredibly stupid. At least say she is off visiting someone they don’t know. They could have just hung up from grandma, for all he knew. How could months of planning result in so many levels of stupid...

I have to admit, I got some sick satisfaction out of the Daily Mail’s “hit piece” today.

I made a long post, initially defending these people.

I was definitely wrong there.

Once we see this probable cause affidavit, I think we are going to see this for what it is. Pretty simple.

Just look at the Closs case. That thread went absolutely nuts for a good couple months. Then out of nowhere, everything suddenly made sense.

Things we thought were relevant were not.

Complicated theories were discredited.

A perfect crime wasn’t so perfect anymore.

True but the guy in Jayme’s case told police in detail what happened. Plus Jayme told them. We may never hear the truth in this case...jmo.

We won’t, atleast in terms of something we can absolutely believe.

I do think the evidence will say a hell of a lot though.

NOT with the baby.

?? I'm not saying she took the baby with her on her journey, but that since he reportedly claimed she dropped the baby off with him during his conversations with her family, then what's his story on how she got to his house? How did she get the baby to him? And if it was by car, then clearly she wasn't so out of her mind as to flee to Washington on foot if the drive to the ranch necessitated the use of a vehicle.

There were several posts many threads ago about why KB's car was still there.

The ones I like best were that her car keys were in her purse, which was destroyed or put in a place no one could find ( like down a mine shaft) so there were no keys for the murderer to drive the vehicle away for the diversion.

Honestly, there so many cases where they leave the cars behind and it makes no sense too risky.

Same with the issue of the cell phone in Idaho. It makes no sense because it is too risky.

I think it comes down to logistics, they can't figure out another answer that is easy, so they take the risk. They are willing to risk murder, I guess these mistakes are minor in comparison. JMO

I know KK is looking more and more guilty, especially after the R's interview, but reading through the posts, I just had a thought of how KK could possibly be slightly less guilty.

***SPECULATION***

What if she said no to all 3 requests for her to kill KB and she thought the conversation was over. Then Thanksgiving rolled around and KK and PF made plans to spend it together in CO. Little did KK realize, but PF planned to kill KB at this time. Once she arrived, the deed was done and PF convinced KK to take some of KB's stuff. She was so caught off guard/scared since she realized he actually killed someone, she just did as he asked. In this scenario, she still could have gone to LE early on, even before the R's contacted them.
I live in EST and really should go to bed. But this one I have to answer.
She knew he was going to kill Kelsey because he asked her to do it. Maybe she didn’t know when so....WHY did she go to see him ever??!!!
Seems Like she would be driving to California, not Colorado!

the majority of reporting says he picked the baby up.

I agree with this whole heartedly. So for as much as we are all (most all) pretty frustrated with Mr. and Mrs. R, they appear to be the people who got this case moving forward. I hate that they didn't speak up in October, but they could have continued to not speak up, and there might not have been progress. I'm appreciative, for KB's sake, that they decided they needed to say something eventually.

I would assume she kept it because she needed to wait and send the texts yes?

Yes, now, after his truck was spotted in her driveway that day, but supposedly his initial response was she dropped the baby off with him and took off.

On a side note, as I think about the crimes, and I watch these people make mistake after mistake.... I wonder, are these people THAT stupid because I would never and I would've done it this way or that way... or am I (and fellow sleuthers) just exceptionally smart and savvy? lol...

I think so too, but why not send those in Utah? It is still along KB's route, but also another 400 (guessing) miles from Twin Falls. It makes the drive to Washington still feasible, but doesn't put LE looking for a phone in your backyard.

ETA: I don't actually expect a response to the question. Just thinking out loud.

I don't give them any credit with the progression of the case. By their own admission by the time they called to report- Dec 17 the police already had a search warrant for KK's property.

LE were way ahead of the R's.

Go back and listen to the CBS video of CB, and think about what the Aunt reported. Can’t you hear that they all think she has hit the road but isn’t like her to do? CB doesn’t want to go down that road, that something else has happened (her murder in CO) , her Aunt says they broke up and she left to see family- They are all believing the story given by PF in the beginning that KB left!

I think every criminal scenario has nuances that you couldn't predict. It's a moving target, so to speak. So now you are flustered, anxious, and stressed because of what you've just done AND you're trying to cover up these things you didn't account for. I think we all can plan a "perfect crime," but it's unlikely all the variables line up as they did in our plan.
