SO and I were talking last night about this. Do you think PF committed murder for custody before he did his research or talked to an atty? In Colorado, you can't leave the state with your offspring if the children's other parent doesn't approve it. Maybe KB was thinking of moving closer to work (Pueblo) and that was enough to make PF act since visitation would be more difficult at that distance. I would hate to think he hadn't consulted someone and was acting out of pure D stupidity.

Seems to me that he simply changed his mind about how to gain custody.

I thought the forklift was to lift it up high on top of the hay? Need to check the affidavit but she was tiny - so either he could lift the tote with her body inside it - or he had help moving it and if that is the case - Wow! JMO

PF may have felt little affection for KB, and he may not have cared whether she lived or died, but I'm not convinced he killed her. Farming/ranching is a dangerous business, especially when it comes to machinery and cattle. He could have come up with a hundred fool-proof and horrific farm "accident" scenarios that would have not only gotten rid of KB, but ensured full custody of their daughter, AND garnered him tremendous sympathy (and possibly a Go Fund Me) for their loss. As an example: if they were together the night before tending to his cattle, he could have gathered them into a pen by dropping a round bale of hay, asked her to dash out there with the mineral block he forgot to add, come up behind her and clobbered her with something to knock her down, fired his gun in the air to scare them (later telling police he had fired it earlier to scare some coyotes away) and those cattle would likely have bolted around that pen in a panic until the deed was done and evidence of his foul play erased. Few of KK's statements ring true to me, except that she was in love with him.

The worse part is she is walking free.

In addition to showering, as Seattle1 mentioned, I think it's possible that he gathered up some things for the baby. Clothes, blankets, etc. If I thought he had any heart at all, I'd add her favorite toys...

Yes, I assume he gathered up a few things for the baby. Tracked blood around while doing it. Might have had a snack from the fridge too.

I think the unfiled 'custody papers' dated from August and IIRC, August was about the time KB checked herself into a place for anxiety/depression treatment. I wonder if she realized things might be coming to an end, and quite possibly found out that she couldn't pack up and go back to Washington to live and raise her baby around family. She would never get the OK from PF to take Baby K out of Colorado.

I think I'd be pretty depressed and anxious if I got news like that.

I think I did hear that "papers" were from August. Her having checked into a facility for anxiety/depression would have given him a pretty good case to file for custody right then. Even when she was not in the facility, she worked in Pueblo, had a long commute, he has his home with mom (built in day care). He could have gotten custody (and maybe child support). So I just keep feeling that there must have been a different motivation to kill her. The one that has a real motive is KK. Is she the one that came up with the idea?

Yes a tractor makes more sense but it would have to have a bucket or something to lift it, right? and he must have had a key (do tractors have keys???) so many questions still. JMO

Despite reading for a day and half, I am still one thread behind. I am so horrified and sick over what has been revealed. I apologize for speaking out of turn.

I am livid that KK has been given a sweet deal. However, I am recalling that Judges in the past, have thrown out plea deals because they are ridiculous given the evidence against the defendant. I am praying to God, please don't let KK get away with this. And may karma greet SF, MS and her former employers.

And the friend Meghan who supplied KK with not only a car, but wait there's more, a fully loaded gun. In spite of the fact she knew there was murder plot going down.
I bet she's sweating bullets right about now.

I think it was a real Catch-22 - they didn't have enough without her testimony IMO. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't - in this case KK is the devil we know - and without her, PF gets the baby and his life goes on. I've watched the Michelle Parker case for years- he's still free - no body. I'm glad there is some justice for CB but agree it's a terrible price to pay. JMO

I think you nailed it. My thoughts exactly. And, I think we're still in for a few "surprises" along the way. JMT

Yes, tractor's have keys. And, I'd guess the tractor was rigged to lift hay bales?

Still looking at the the dark dirt spot and trough in the corral area below the front porch. The picture is a Google Earth screenshot dated October 14, 2017. I've placed an arrow pointing to the trough, which is sitting in the exact location of the dark spot in the KOAA TV drone shot of December 14, 2018. It seems to like it has to have been recently moved.

It does. It's a shame. Because it appears they had cadaver dogs and a team searching for blood and didn't find any prior to the family being there.

The defense will jump on that at trial. It won't go anywhere I don't believe. But it's an unfortunate anomaly.

Forensics aren't always perfect.

To make peace with this, I'm willing to go so far as to believe that KK is a professional healthcare provider that knew how and/or trained to clean up blood and human body matter. She allegedly arrived equipped with her hazmat suit....

The description KK gives of the murder is nightmarish. I do not want to believe her description, but I do. However, her actions and lies to LE that followed the murder leave me highly skeptical of her fear motive and her motive for her leaving blood clues. She should have been charged as a co-conspirator. I understand the why to KK’s plea deal, but it feels so antithetical to justice in this case. I know all this has been expressed several times, but I had to say it, too.

She will have to testify at PF's trial. And her sentence appears to be contingent on how coooeratice she remains.

Could I have the source that says there is 100% certainty there is going to be a trial for PF? I don't think there will be a trial if he pleads guilty, and the nurse will not have to testify at PF's trial because there won't be any trial. Nobody testified at Chris Watt's trial for killing his pregnant wife and beautiful daughters, because there was no trial.

That business with Meghan and the car with the expired plates and a loaded gun is just weird.

KK wants to keep a low profile on her trip to Colorado - by driving a car with expired plates?

According to Meghan, she apparently doesn't check her firearm regularly, because I think her story is that she didn't check her gun until KK's name hit the news. I can't help but wonder if she lent the car to someone else who found the gun and fired a single bullet, just for grins and didn't say anything about it.

Very strange. It just doesn't pass the smell test, although I can't see how it helps KK, either, and that's the only reason I can see for Meghan to lie.
