I just don't think he is as smart as he thinks he is. I think he was more concerned with the timing of it all than the well thought out details.
Without his clean up girl and her taking the phone to ID, he wouldn't have lasted a week unapprehended.
Even though her friend MS and the R's liked kk, they did told LE she went to CO... publically corroborating that fact. So the publicity was not all bad imo.

line item #76 says that KB's purse contained mace, a pair of earrings and an ID card. Where is KB's wallet/driver's license/registration/car and health insurance cards/credit or debit card(s)?

KK says the purse was burned and she even took the IDs out of the wallet to make sure they would burn. I don't recall any other details.

Here's line item #76 from the affidavit:

It really does doesnt it.

How about.
PF takes her target practicing to make it look like she shot herself by accident but can never get her in quite the right position to do it right so chickens out.

Next night fakes a stomach problem to get her to come by and he couldnt get himself to kill her again.

Finally calls KK to come and lie in weight in her house and shoot her when she walks in the door after grocery shopping.

Its all so crazy I dont know what to think anymore.

But one thing I am really not believing right now is that anyone would let someone put a sweater over their head without majorly objecting to that. I could believe someone forcefully threw a sweater over her head though.
This is an observation. The arrest affidavit is a combination of many parts of the investigation organized (nicely) for evidence purposes. It is in my humble opinion superbly organized and clear and packed with evidence for the preliminary hearing. Now, the issue is with any eye witness or witness is they are telling information through their perception. This is why the officers and agents try to get physical evidence to verify the matching statements which again this team does superbly. But then you have information that is subjective from KKL's point of view and at times told from PF's point of view. It is like taking slices of a photograph then slicing it again, it is blurry. Then you have some information that probably hints at the realm of improbability. You have to record the statements but they are probably fiction or massaged. This may not necessarily be purposeful in some cases. The brain depending if there is a psychosis may be interpreting how the person is reporting the information. Why some of us are seeing some statements as completely irrational is not surprising given the set of circumstances. Our brains are trying to map a picture of rational behavior and story but we just haven't heard one yet.

Sorry to mention this one more time but I feel like the importance of the 16min+ call might be missed. When did KK first have access to KB’s phone? IMO I think #39 of the affidavit explains. There’s so much in that one paragraph IMO
PF gave KK the phone after they burned KB's body at the ranchette.
MOO
Yes...that happened on the 22nd. Why did PF call to speak with KK on the 24th (on KB’s cell) when KK had already burned trash bags from KB’s home on the 22nd?

The burning of contents of KB’s belongings supposedly happened on the 22nd-right? Or am I totally confused? If I’m not confused, then there are timelines that are seriously screwed up. IMO
No, her body was burned on the 24th. I don't know why PF called KK on the 24th. If that's been reported, I'm unaware of it.
MOO

I think they wanted to destroy the body to hide the cause of death.
Or, more specifically, to make sure it was never found!

It’s just too weird an event (especially considering the timing), for it not to have some relevance here.

I could see some sort of random shooting scenario, or perhaps a staged gunshot suicide.

I’m not sure what exactly to make of it, but it’s something.

Yes. I think this was a ruse to get her out in a remote area for a fatal "accident" , or a way to assure she would be so tired the next day that he could be assured she would be around on T-Day.

Who knows if he really had an ulcer. Most all medication would be over the counter stuff and he would certainly be capable of getting it himself. He seemed to be well enough to attend Thanksgiving Dinner.

And his mother is an RN. Why couldn't she take care of him. I call BS on this ulcer stuff.

He was definitely up to something no good with KB the night before

that's kb's gun tmar.
kk destroyed kb's phone in her front yard and disposed of it at the hospital iirc.

Thanks.
I really thought I was correct.
Must blame it on the heat, as I can't possibly be losing it, or can I?

Hope the person I replied to, will accept my apology.
Sorry.:(:(:(

Yikes.
I came back after a long walk with my dog on a 32C day.
Perhaps the heat frazzled me.
You must mean the heat Frazeed you.

Here's the cell phone information in the affidavit on Nov. 24 - 25th:

  • Nov. 24, 2018 - Both KB and PF’s phones utilized the Verizon cell tower in Florisant, along with the sector facing PF’s residence when PF’s phone called KB’s phone first thing in the morning. Both phones eventually travel to same area west of Cripple Creek.
  • Nov. 24, 2018 - Call records indicate PF and KK communicated at 7:23 a.m., 10:47 a.m., 11:39 a.m., 1:06 p.m. and 5:21 p.m. (KK initially told LE she was at PF’s residence at this time)
  • Nov. 24, 2018 - KK’s cell phone was connected to a cell tower and also to a sector of that tower that would service KB’s residence on the morning of Nov. 24, 2018. The tower is some distance from the PF residence and likely wouldn’t service his residence.
  • Nov. 24, 2018 - KK sent Meghan a text message in the afternoon, asking if she could stay the night at her house because she had too much to drink. Meghan said the content of the message was false and was only meant to establish an alibi in case CL checked KK’s phone or called Meghan to see where KK was.
  • Nov. 24 and or Nov. 25, 2018 - KB’s cellular phone likely traveled from CO via I 70 into Utah and I 15 through Salt Lake City into Idaho during the evening of Nov. 24 and/or the morning of Nov. 25.
  • Nov. 24 and or Nov. 25, 2018 - KK’s phone traveled back to Idaho on the 24th or 25th of November. KK’s phone was connected to the exact same tower an sectors in a remote area of the Colorado/Utah border on the morning of Nov. 25. KK’s phone was connected to the tower at approximately 4:13 a.m., 4:17 a.m. and 4:23 a.m. KB’s phone was connected to the tower at approximately 4:11 a.m. and 4:16 a.m.
  • Nov. 25, 2018 - Last activity for KB’s phone at 5:13 p.m. approximately 6.38 W/Sw from a Verizon cell tower in Gooding, Idaho. That distance placed the phone at or near Malad Gorge State Park, which is supported by additional tower measurements from Verizon in the minutes leading up to that data point.
  • Nov. 25, 2018 - KK was in cell phone communication with PF on her return trip to Idaho, including shortly after the last activity of KB’s cell phone.

so trial...2 years from now or what?

  • #714
She told her ex husband she "lost" her phone, and he took her to get a new one. (Affidavit point 49) This was the same day PF's phone was confiscated, so he probably warned her to get rid of it. MOO.

Why couldn't she take herself to get a new phone.. Considering he is ex still has more involvement in her life that I would want from one of my exes...

You must mean the heat Frazeed you.

Nah.
Only KK is Frazeed.
I cannot write what I think of both PF and KK, as will go into the Dunce's corner.

However, a quick, smart response.
You certainly have got your marbles.

Ish.

It won’t be anytime soon, that’s for damn sure.

ETA: Looking at some less complex murder cases that have been prosecuted in Colorado recently, it looks like 2 years would be a pretty solid guess as to when this trial will commence.

Two things:

IMO, KKL has a plea deal and that deal is likely to stick based on what we know so far. That said, PF is nothing if not vindictive and cruel. I’d wager that the defense will do everything in its power not just to refute her evidence but to expose her in a deal-breaker lie or some critical fact that she withheld. In fact, the DA may be expecting (hoping for?) just such a move. She ought to be terrified. But I find it hard to imagine they’d void her deal for any reason prior to PF’s trial.

Also, as things stand currently, it seems to me like the defense really has only one logical course of action — to suggest that the murder didn’t occur until after KKL arrived in town. All the evidence surrounding the proposed TOD seems to be circumstantial and/or based on KKL’s testimony. Co-pinging phones only mean the phones were in proximity to each other, not that anyone was dead. So if the defense can raise enough doubt about the TOD, they also can raise doubt about who committed the murder. And that’s all they need to do.

Again, MOO. LE no doubt has more evidence than we are aware of and they continue to strengthen the DA’s case. But this does worry me...

There are several airports she could have flown out of or to, use of connecting flights or driven the rest of the way. Denver airport is massive. Nobody is going to recall who they saw on a flight after so much time elapses.

If her friends were willing to loan her a vehicle, gun, and were willing to lie for her so her ex-husband wouldn't find out, I have no problem believing a friend gave her their ID so the ticket wouldn't have her name on it. The TSA agent would look at it, scan it and think nothing more of it. I doubt LE spent a lot of time tracking KK locations but I bet the defense will do so.

For her to be the killer, or present at the murder, the following must be true:

1. Her friend MG lied to the FBI/CBI about when KK borrowed the car and went to CO.

2. Her friend MG lied to the FBI/CBI about the reason for the text message KK sent to MG stating she was spending the night at MG's on the 24th.

3. Although MG lied about KK's whereabouts on 11-22-18, MG inexplicably gave the FBI/CBI other, highly incriminating information bout KK such as she took her car to CO the day after the murder, she swapped vehicles back on 11-25 at a certain location (which matched KB's last phone ping) and that a round was missing from her gun after KK had possession of it. ???

4. The FBI and CBI were fooled by MG's lies, thus despite being pros who make their living talking to witnesses, perps and gauging human behavior, they were incapable of determining that she was lying.

5. All of her family lied to the authorities about her whereabouts OR the FBI/CBI inexplicably are stupid idiots and failed to confirm where she was with family, on the day of the actual murder.

6. The FBI and CBI were fooled by her family's lies, thus despite being pros who make their living talking to witnesses, perps and gauging human behavior, they were incapable of determining that they were lying, OR, they ineptly failed to contact them at all or otherwise confirm KK's whereabouts on the day of the murder.

7. KK had reason to send a fake text to MG pretending she was going to spend the night at MG's on the 24th, so her husband wouldn't find out she was going to CO, but had no reason to send a similar text for the night of the 21st or 22nd, when she would've had to have been away from the home in order to be in CO for the murder.

8. Her ex husband lied to the FBI/CBI about her whereabouts on 11-22-18, covering for her murder of the mother of her boyfriend's child.

9. Although CL lied about her whereabouts on 11-22-18, her ex husband inexplicably gave the FBI/CBI other, incriminating information about KK such as she was actually romantically linked to PF, despite telling the FBI she was not, giving the FBI information about her google email account, that she bought on a new cell phone on 12-4, and was "nervous" after the FBI contacted her.

10. The FBI and CBI were fooled by CL's lies, thus despite being pros who make their living talking to witnesses, perps and gauging human behavior, they were incapable of determining that he was lying.

11. The FBI/CBI are both inept and failed to locate her phone pings on 11-22-18 and/or ignored pings indicating she was in CO at that time.

12. The state is stupid (while websleuthers cracked the case) and elicited testimony that KB was not in CO until 11-24, in error.

13. The defense is stupid and did not refute KK's whereabouts nor even attempt to put statements by witnesses as to her whereabouts on 11-22, in question, at the prelim.

14. Surveillance caught KB and PF at KB's home on 11-22-18, but somehow missed KK.

15. The state is willing to present a faulty case to the court, in an extremely high-profile no body case, thereby risking their careers and reputation.

KK told her ex-husband she thought someone was trying to 'set her up'.
The male friend KKL gave the gun to, I wonder if his DNA was excluded?

  • #720
Yep, I think we can move "PF became completely unhinged" into the "things we know" column for sure.

Nobody takes a bat to someone's head if he's even remotely "hinged"! MOO to the max!

He would of been totally enraged as KKL couldn't do the dirty work and I think her description of the crime scene supports that...

Every time I think of KL finding Kelsey's tooth makes me so sad as it seems like he literally went for her face
