BBM:
I couldn't agree more. To that point:

2016 Colorado Revised Statutes :: Title 16 - :: Criminal Proceedings :: Code of Criminal Procedure :: Article 10 - :: Jury Trials :: Part 1 - :: Composition and Selection of the Jury :: § 16-10-104. Peremptory challenges

So, the linked statute actually makes another argument for the DA going for the Death Penalty (as if we needed more reasons to stick a needle in PF's arm).

In capital cases in CO, both sides are allowed 10 peremptory challenges; in all other cases, they only get 5.

I think DA Dan may want to give himself those 10 peremptory challenges to allow himself to build a rock solid jury. 5 challenges may not be enough to weed out all the suspected nitwits.

The jury composition is going to be critical in this case.
DA Dan needs to load that puppy up with working professionals.
12 engineers and/or IT managers would be absolutely golden.

Use those peremptory challengesStrike anyone off who watches The Lifetime Channel and/or reads Silhouette Romances.

There's no margin for error in the jury selection.
All it takes is that one who trusts their "feelings" more than facts to derail the process.

Keeping fingers crossed Dan May makes the call to pursue the DP.

JMO.
Great post.
I was told once that 'smart' people don't want to be bothered
sitting on juries, they know how to get out of it.
Had a friend years back that never, ever served despite being
served notice numerous times. She would show up first day and
claim she didn't hear well and may miss out on testimony.
Done, excused, every single time.
My point is, IMO, maybe only the slow thinkers are approved
to serve. At least that's been my experience.

I am behind so sorry for this being off topic, I am catching up on reading. I too wondered if RB had to help PF get the tote to the top of that haystack, since PF needed KK's to help him get it down. He seems to have been in heavy contact with PF since 11/22. I hope LE is looking into RB's phone history too!

RB owns 4 Mile Construction Company, and three other companies, he is quite the business man it seems. He has lived at his current home in Guffey since 2008, I am curious how he and PF met.

Hope we are allowed to sleuth him. All is JMO
Don't think we can sleuth him, but thanks for the info :)

I imagine in that town there are a lot of people that think like CC. Which is why PF has pretty much been able to get away with quite a bit over the years. CC needn’t worry about crows being eaten but he may want to start practicing his look of “shock” once all the evidence comes out at trial. Man I hope the prosecution dots all i’s and crosses all t’s and doesn’t leave any room for PF to assert reasonable doubt because again I imagine there are a lot of CC type people in a potential jury pool. Also, this wasn’t one of their best episodes and really needed two hours to share more of the details I feel like

Yep, agree, "favorite sons" is what I call them, they can do no wrong, even if they are despicable. Seems PF is being protected, which begs the question, why?

I can tell you first hand what lives in CC proper, in the city limits, 98 percent are alcoholics, ex alcoholics, drug addicts, and ex drug addicts. If you go into CC early in the morning the town is empty, everyone is nursing a hangover, or worse. There are people who are working, but they are very few. There are many retiree's, and people who commute to work in the rural areas, decent hard working people, but in CC, most are waiting for the SSDI checks to come in so they can sit at the bar all day.

Who names their donkey business, Two Mile High Club, very similar to a sexual encounter up in an airplane. Does CC even want to be taken seriously with his donkey business? Who wears a hat with the word Semen? Do they belong to some kind of special club? Like the Idiot Club.

I’m not trying to be negative about KB and I doubt she would still have her job if there were serious concerns about her mental health. If she did indeed seek help for anything, that’s a positive.
MOO

Yes! And didn’t CC say on Dateline that PF had told him KB had lost her job? Yet, PF or KK sent a text to Doss saying she would be off work for a week visiting her relative.
Just another example where PF couldn’t keep his lies straight.

Thanks for the info. I’m a mom and I TOTALLY understand. It makes me mad that CC told everyone on public prime time TV (Dateline) that she went to rehab twice due to alcholosim, painting this picture of an unstable mother. Usually Dateline clears up the misconceptions and I’m disappointed that they didn’t clear this up. Truth be told, even if she did go to rehab twice for alcohol it’s irrelevant to the case.
I think it was CC who told Dateline the cops didn't find anything at PF's house, which is false. Some of the stuff (blood in mop) hasn't had test results back yet. CC could have only gotten that info from PF and in my opinion, not reliable.

I don't think it was actually ever established whether Maverick was Iceman's wingman or vice-versa.

I was always an Iceman fan, myself.
Because, Val Kilmer, helloooo.
Who can ever forget that iconic volleyball scene?! (*See Avatar)
Sorry, I digress...back on topic.

You forgot to include Nancy Grace in your dream interview. She who we love to cringe at would do a bang up job on those three! JMO
I didn't know anything about the ex gf who called from prison. I would have liked to rehear the interview with Kelsey's friend who was at a rodeo where PF was angry over his performance, got off his horse and kicked his dog real hard. Kelsey's friend was in tears as she told of Kelsey walking off with PF.

That was the best interview to date. The most believable as well. That man I hope appreciates the fiance he has. Because she is a keeper.

ETA: And MSM did not score the interview.

I find myself this morning wondering more and more about PF’s father figure. He has really inserted himself into this crime.
1. He claims to have known PF 35 years when PF is 32 years old. He would be my first paternity DNA test.
2. He goes to the Credit Union with PF to review transactions and tells the manager this is about the missing person. Then tells manager forget we where here. Is that a threat? Who does he think he is. Or maybe I should ask what does he think he is.
3. PF appears to have visited him from the day of the murder going forward.
4. He tries to lay a false trail fo authorities but inserting a SouthWest pilot that does not seem to exist.
5. He acts like he taught PF everything he knows and he could very well have. Seems to be quite the manipulater himself.
6. He takes PF back to KB house to pick up a package and tells PF to stay in vehicle so security camera can’t pick you up. Why does he know about Security Camera around KB’s residence?
My opinion is this guy is up to his eyeballs with information. With this den of snakes I am not worried about a fair trail for PF but justice for KB. Those involved in Idaho are of the same spirit.

With this level of attention finding an impartial jury should be interesting.

I can't imagine we won't see a change of venue in this case.
They're gonna' have to get that trial moved in order to ensure a fair, impartial jury.

I’m ready for the flak I will receive over this.

Do we really know that KB was not in some sort of inpatient treatment plan? She could have been depressed in general or suffering from postpartum dep. (I know that’s been discussed here before). I realize he said she was in rehab for alcoholism and a few others have inferred she was “a cutter” (no links, just random comments I’ve read). I feel like he overstated any problems to others in order to develop a story that she ran away.

I’m not trying to be negative about KB and I doubt she would still have her job if there were serious concerns about her mental health. If she did indeed seek help for anything, that’s a positive.

I think she felt trapped and alone. His negative and manipulative personality could have easily thrown her into depression. KB very likely endured his outbursts long before the event at the hospital. She was alone in Colorado with a sociopathic boyfriend and his like-minded group.

MOO
EBM already answered.

Now I want to adopt him!
Like him or not, you have to respect the fact that he is involved and a doer. He would not have been one of the people who just sat around on his backside, knowing all along there was a plan to kill a young mother. He would have taken action on her part. And for that he gets props from me.

I once suffered from extreme exhaustion. The "catch all" of chronic fatigue is a vague diagnosis. KB went to a clinic for anxiety, depression and fatigue. I suffered these same symptoms. What I learned, eventually, is that I suffered from adrenal fatigue. Years of anxiety, fight and flight response by the adrenals, deplete them. It starts off slow and progressively gets worse over time. I can imagine what she was dealing with during this time of her life. Mother of an infant, working, commuting trying to hold it together and on top of that dealing with a narcissistic psychopath that leaves you not knowing whether you're coming or going. Poor thing. And here you have PF's flying monkeys repeating his disgusting lies. I take great pleasure in those that are "outing" him for the horrible creature he is.

I wonder how often he had her helping with the cows during the early hours. Watching her burn out and piling more pressure on her. Poor kelsey.

It was a 7 day Adventist help center for depression and anxiety, my understanding she never checked in was just a out patient for a few days. Hello , his other girlfriend was brow beat to near suicide and obviously KB was also being mentally abused and put a gun to her head according to PF. The timeframe she went was right after KK's first visit with the coffee, that she says she did not lace with a drug.
If she had put some kind of drug that made KB lethargic etc. she probably could of felt she was depressed. I agree she could of had a light case of post partum and then add PF's mental abuse the poor girl needed some help. CC was sensationalizing his words. Guess he was star struck!
Sad - he said she was a good girl while she was living and now that she is gone she is a alcoholic misfit. This bunch probably pokes dead dogs. Yeah that part really teed me off. MOO
I will say watching the interview last night made me really see how low people can go. CC knows now the truth and yet is still sticking to tearing down a woman who has been murdered in cold blood. And he's not the only one who is actively trying to protect PF. You have KK, SF, oh heck the whole Frazee fandamily, all of KK's friends, CC and his wife, RS and his wife...my question is, was there anyone in that group that even for a smidgeon of a second had a moment of morality or ethics? Because I haven't seen anything humane from any of them yet.

What does one actually do with a "donkey business" anyway?

In most cases, it is the defense that requests it. In this case, I think the prosecution should. :)

Spread malicious rumors about innocent people while aiding and abetting murderers. At least that's how they roll in Cripple Creek.
