Darn I had hopes. LE tried hard. So who gave LE the info??? Did KKL give them the info? Or was it from some evidence? And where could her body be?
RSABBM:
The fact that KB's remains weren't located during the search doesn't mean her remains aren't in the landfill. They may just be outside of the search area that NecroSearch identified as the most likely spot.
The fact that no evidence was found whatsoever related to the ranch, e.g., discarded mail, newspapers, etc., leads me to believe they were not in fact looking precisely in the correct location. Given the monumental nature of the task, that is not at all a criticism of their efforts or their methods. It's not an exact science. The success rate isn't 100% for NecroSearch.
Chief De Young made the judgment call that based on the fact that there was absolutely no evidence to indicate they were searching in the right area, it did not make sense to continue the search.
IMO, that was the right decision, difficult as I'm sure it was for him to make.
Everyone knew going into it that it was a needle-haystack situation.
Despite that fact, I believed KB's remains would be found, particularly given NecroSearch's involvement and expertise in these types of searches.
This news today is both sad and disappointing.
Particularly since I believe her remains are in fact (still) located in that landfill.
