Frazee murder trial could start as soon as Friday

Right now, the plan is to begin the trial Friday afternoon. Each side would get an hour for an opening statements. Courtroom discussions show the state plans to call Cheryl and Clint Berreth, Kelsey's mother and brother respectively, to the witness stand Friday, according to NBC News.

Praying for strength for CB1 and CB2. I can’t wait for the downfall of PF!

:D:D

I'll bring her some Sonic for her testimony. I'm sure she will work up quite the appetite reliving those moments.

Thanks for pointing out the acerbic humor. Mass guy sometimes flies under the radar and I totally miss it LOL

I understood the jury goes through voir dire before seated. Sam doesn’t mention that.
Confusing.

There is a thoroughly confusing explanation of this term at the link.

KK told LE that he used gasoline as an igniter, and motor oil as an accelerant. Gasoline can also qualify as an accelerant. The tests results are definitely saying there was something there, and they are classifying that something as the residue of an accelerant. IMO

Detection of fire accelerants - Wikipedia

IMO
Wow, it is confusing! They are saying there was definitely an accelerant found but is there a way to determine how long it had been there?

He does:

A group of 91 people was chosen to participate in group voir dire. Voir dire is the process of questioning jurors from a larger pool to seat a jury.

The jury will contain 12 people with four alternates on standby.

Frazee murder trial expected to start Friday
Thank you. But when does voir dire take place and can’t that possibly take longer than Friday?

Tomorrow apparently. They must be confident that the process will take no longer than into the morning on Friday.

I'm super curious if Teller County Courthouse will be setting up separate entrance for the jurors. I recall earlier report that they will be subject to daily security / metal screening before heading to jurors room.

I've also not read if everybody (reporters and potential jurors alike) walked only through main entrance this week.

I'd like to know how they are getting PF in and out without any pictures of him being taken yet this week. They letting him slum it in the basement?

Thank you. But when does voir dire take place and can’t that possibly take longer than Friday?

Probably tomorrow and Friday morning.

I didn’t believe this trial would take place as scheduled. Now that it is here, I want it to be over soon so Krystal can be sentenced. I hope she is off the streets.

She’s looking at little to no jail time. PF being off the streets is obviously the number one priority.

Kelsey died at his hand after all.

According to Jennifer Meckles, everyone has been going through the one metal detector. Surely they could bring in another for jurors, don't you think?

As to his entrance, they set up a tent so that when he is dropped off, he walks into the tent and through the door. That was set up earlier. That is why no photos. Also, the media has moved back a little bit and is starting to be more cautious as far as photos. Perhaps that will be the jury entrance also?

I don't recall a murder trial happening and potentially concluding within one year. And it may conclude on the one year anniversary time of when she was killed at Thanksgiving. I'm sure that will be brought up in closing statements?

Lol, I'm aware of the tent. Easily could still get a picture with the tent though. Also, that tent didn't look like it was built to withstand this amount of snow. I was hoping it would collapse.....like while he was walking through.

Honestly, just wanted to see all the hard work Ma Frazee put in, dressing him for the week.

I just realized that CC is the ONLY person in this case who knew both PF and KK previously. His choice of who to support is pretty obvious IMO

He knew PF and KK. I seem to recall that he said he met KB once, but my comment had nothing to do with her. IMO

Oh, I didn't know he knew KK at all.

Never read this before (CC knows KK), and after looking don't find @Dave F. source for this revelation. Please provide link for your statement of fact. TIA.

Rarely would a jury not be given separate entrance during a trial. Making a note to ask trusted reporter.

Judge Sells probably ordered that a secret underground tunnel be constructed leading from the Jail to the Courthouse.

As we all know, Judge Sells is extremely concerned with shielding PF from both the media and the public eye.
