And you live close enough to know that!
Yep. It's a beautiful area for a drive and fishing, but seriously remote and depressingly so, imho. But that's just me personally. Woodland park is so charming... and just the beginning point to glorious fall drives out PF's way too. I've been from Divide to Deckers CO, all equally beautiful but remote as I've ever seen.

ETA I take that back Fairplay AND Cripple Creek CO are quite remote & scary!!

Wow. So the guy calls PF's lawyer before LE. WTGDF?
YES!!! WTactualH???
is there something super wrong with the water around there??? is it just that super cr@ppy people are magnets for each other? How in the work did cute lil KB get mixed up in the hell pit of inhumaity?

Isn't that awful? Chemicals, sharp edges, a hot-burning stove in the center of the house, and few toys. :(:(:(

Now we know why Baby K was immediately placed with the Berreths even though they live out of state and SF supposedly often took care of Baby K. Not that it was a big mystery, but many here debated about the possible reasons that CPS would give her to the Berreths before the first custody hearing even happened-- IIRC they arrested PF, detained SF and CPS workers took custody of the baby but she was given to CB right away. I had thought it was because of PF's outburst at the hospital when Baby was born but this explains why CPS didn't even entertain letting SF watch the baby until a court decided where to place her-- her home is not safe! I'm gobsmacked that these people were the primary childcare for Baby K while Kelsey was at work. After reading about the condition of the home I'm hoping we find out that the part about PF watching Baby K every time KB worked was another lie from PF & Co.:(

MOO.

We have been presented with a great deal of evidence regarding the murder of Kelsey, many ridiculous actions by PF.
Then a history of how he treated women, animals and blabber mouthing critical, dangerous thoughts.
PF is living with his mother.
Could PF be 'sub standard' in intelligence, which explains the murder findings.
MOO.
If sub-standard and stupid equate....yes.

Country Boy ! Jethro Frazee !
OMG just OMG

If Steigerweld gets up and asks for a dismissal on the grounds of "lack of evidence", Judge Sells will burst out in laughter and yell, "You've got to be freakin' kidding me!!" Where the heck have YOU BEEN?? Then promptly sentences himself to 6 months in jail for breaking his own decorum order :) Not to mention everyone else in the gallery.
Radar, the cadaver dog would even laugh out loud.

Friend testifies Frazee said, ‘I figured out a way to kill her’
[...]

FBI Special Agent Donald Peterson, who works on the Safe Streets Task Force, was the next witness called to the stand. He was also a team leader for the search team.

[...]

He explained how they used hand tools and brushes to remove the dirt and other material Frazee allegedly covered the burn area with to expose a plastic crust in the soil.

He was shown several pictures of the plastic crust and explained how investigators sifted other material that was in the burn pit, and said the way the plastic melted, it appeared to form into the shape of the metal trough.

[...]

May then called FBI Special Agent Stephanie Benitiz to the witness stand, who was involved in the Dec. 14 and 15 searches of Frazee’s home and has special training in searches.

She said they found an ornament and the box it came with that Berreth’s brother had previously testified he sent to [Baby K], as well as paperwork about ownership of a horse with Kenney’s name on it.

She said that there were signs that a child lived there, but few toys at the home. She also testified that the home did not appear safe for a toddler, as there were sharp edges, a hot burning stove in the center of the house with no child gates around it and chemicals around the house.

[...]

She, as did Peterson, also discussed the different consistencies of the soil in the burn area and mentioned finding the partial tooth.

Benitiz said she thought that was significant: “It was a tooth at a site that we had been briefed on where a body had possibly been burned.”

[...]

Moore testified he first met Frazee when Frazee was between 10 and 13 years old when Frazee was riding horses, that he’s been to Fremont County to help Frazee with his cattle and that he’d known Frazee for 20 or 21 years. ...

[...]

In court Friday, he said Frazee had “so much going for him.” Moore said he sometimes called him his step-kid. Through tears in court, Moore testified: “You just don’t want picture somebody that you’ve known this long and trusted – you just don’t want to think that they could do something like this.”

[...]

Moore said the first time he met Berreth was at a ranch around November 2016, when she was helping move Frazee’s calves. ...

“He berated her horribly,” Moore said. “He yelled at her, cussed at her, just terribly.”

[...]

During a trip to shoe horses, Moore said Frazee said he was having trouble with somebody and told them that “kids go missing all the time from playgrounds and schoolyards.” Moore said he told him he shouldn’t say those things, though Frazee said he was kidding.

Moore said that on April 26, 2018, the two were running their bulls on another ranch. Moore said he asked Frazee how things were going with “[Baby K’s] mom,” which Moore said is how Frazee referred to Berreth.

“He said, ‘I figured out a way to kill her,’” Moore testified, “And I went, ‘Don’t even talk about things like that. Get that s--- out of your head.’ He just kind of grinned and said, ‘No body, no crime, right?'”

[...]

During that summer, Moore said, Frazee told him about how he had people spying on or watching Berreth and taking pictures of her because he said he wanted to sue her for custody of [Baby K].

[...]

Moore said he brought up a line from the movie he thought was funny at the time: “Women: Can’t live with ‘em, can’t kill ‘em.”

He said he told the joke to Frazee, laughing lightheartedly. But he said Frazee responded: “Not so. No body, no crime.” Moore said he blew it off as a joke.

[...]

After the FBI took Frazee’s phone in December, he met with Moore in Woodland Park and asked to use his phone to make a call on Dec. 4, 2018. Moore said the call lasted 5 minutes, 58 seconds, according to his cell.

[...]

“If I get arrested — because they’ve taken my phone — I’m going to have my friend here call you and it will be from this phone number so come and get these horses,” Frazee said over the phone, according to Moore.

Moore said the area code for the number was 208, which indicates an Idaho number. He said he never talked to the person Frazee called that day.

[...]

During one of their trips down to Westcliffe to take care of cattle there in December 2018, Frazee mentioned to Moore than Berreth’s blood could be on him. He said she had a nosebleed and put her head in his lap, so he got blood on his pants, shirt and boots.

“Do you think they’ll be able to find any of that even though it’s all been washed?” Frazee asked, according to Moore.

[...]

Frazee said during one call with Moore that their conversation “was being recorded” but he felt like he needed to ask if anything was “disrupted by the red barn” which Moore understood as the red barn at Nash Ranch. Moore said no, and Frazee said, “Oh, alright, just curious.” This phone call had indeed been recorded and was played in court Friday afternoon.

After this call, Moore immediately called Frazee’s attorney and then law enforcement. ...

[...]

Moore was excused but not released and was ordered to stay available to the District Attorney’s Office.

[...]
GOOD!
"After this call, Moore immediately called Frazee’s attorney and then law enforcement. ..."

ug. does anyone think he has killed anyone else?
well we know he's thought about it and where to put a body. Personally I don't think so because he seemed to think it should have been easier to kill off KB than it was. I think he may have bludgeoned animals to death though.
The teeth thing is weird though...hmmm

Come to think of it, maybe Kelsey questioned a burn mark on Baby K, and Patrick turned it around and tried to blame her with the curling iron at her condo. They have a stove in the middle of the room, to which the baby could have burned herself- we have a wood stove in our fireplace, and that thing gets hot so fast. I can't believe they didn't have a baby gate around it. Yikes!

Oh! Was it the tooth that was the subject of the consumptive testing? I’m just trying to catch up, so maybe that’s been covered.

Yes. I believe so from this

"A judge granted permission for the CBI to conduct consumptive testing on a piece of evidence that was recovered from the Frazee property as part of the investigation into Kelsey Berreth’s murder. Prosecutor Jennifer Viehman confirmed the piece of evidence was a piece of a tooth that was recovered from the Frazee property."

Judge rules that testing can begin on piece of tooth found at Frazee property

was thinkin leading up to Friday how painful it will be for us having to wait 3 whole days to get back to court.....but I have to say......

Then give them that piece of tooth. Even if they just put it in an urn and have a burial with it, it's a piece of her that they can bury and put in a grave, a place to put flowers, to remember her. Heck, if they have pieces of the hay that's discolored and the Berreth's would like it buried with her tooth, let them have it. Man, this breaks many of our hearts, wish I had something to say to comfort the Berreth family, but there are no words comforting enough to parents who lost a child to murder.

I'm sure you are right, that sick jerk obviously was serious when he told his friend "no body, no crime" and he made sure of it, didn't he? I have a string of curse words whirling through my mind, just for him.
Someday I hope the Berreths are comfortable walking with BabyK along the street where Kelsey once pushed her in the stroller.

Maybe they'll spend time in nature along the river and feel Kelsey's presence.

That stove makes you think again about BabyK's burn mark, doesn't it?
All the accusations of abuse to baby K by KB, is PF confessing to things he had done to that baby ! JMHO

Anyone else have any specific things they hope to get answers to? I’ve had 90% of my questions answered already, some still just awaiting forensics remain.

My biggest remaining question that I don’t think we’ll ever get an answer to though is where PF and SF were headed the early morning when he was arrested. I know in the grand scheme of things it’s completely unimportant but I’ll never get that vision out of my head. Seeing him arrested and SF in cuffs, best day!

I’ve followed this case from the beginning, I was unable to post but was able to catch up in the media thread thanks to @PommyMommy and her great job in keeping that up! I’ve been off work due to a surgery since 10/10 and I don’t have to be back to work until 11/25, I’m so happy I get to post and participate for Kelsey.

Oh wow, I didn't see your post- I agree, that is the first though that went through my mind when I read about the stove.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kelsey did question the burn mark, and Patrick blamed her with the curling iron. Looking at Kelsey's hair, she didn't appear to use one- maybe a straightener, but a curling iron? Still, that seems awfully suspicious to me. He seems to twist things around to blame others for his own sins.

I think they were headed out of town with the baby - on the run and quite possibly tipped off but then double crossed IMO because they were caught !

I don’t think they were going on the run or anything. I imagine they were just going to run an errand, and law enforcement took advantage of that.

They wouldn’t want to grab him at the house, where things could get dangerous. A traffic stop is pretty standard in cases like this, as it’s a hell of a lot safer.

KK had just cooperated, and the case came together quickly. They took him at the first opportunity.
