Kelsey's phone may have texted that she is taking a week off from work, but it may not have been Kelsey doing the texting.

Her mom asked LE for a welfare check on Nov 25th. When there was no sign of her from the welfare check I'm guessing her mom contacted PF (fiancé). The big question is who sent the text message from KB to her work?
jmo

Good question. It's still possible KB did. I hate to think the worst.

There are legal, procedural, and practical concerns that are taken in to account before LE names someone as a suspect.

This does not mean that they are not treating the fiancé as a suspect at this point though.

It was pretty clear during that press conference that they are looking closely at this guy.

They may not be saying it, but their actions may be indicative of this.

Yes, I thought this as well when I watched the presser. The way the sheriff answered the question regarding the fiance cooperating... I noticed it in his tone and facial expression...

I haven't checked her photos closely enough to see if she wears an engagement ring.

I wonder if the FBI is involved? I wonder if I send a phone in the mail to Idaho, then when it gets there (still in the post office), and call the phone number (at night when the post office is closed) will it ping its location? Then the post office sends the package back due to incorrect address. Is that a possible scenario?
Now that is some good devious thinking.....

That would mean that the phone would have been

Any thoughts on why her mother waited until December 2nd at 12:37pm to make the missing persons report if she was already calling around looking for her 1 week prior?

BBM I think Mom may have contacted work and found out that Kelsey "contacted" them about not working the next week after Thanksgiving. The welfare check may have confirmed that too. Mom probably was frantic but didn't want to to be that intrusive mom in her adult daughters business if she indeed was taking the week off. If she and LE were told about the text they really had no reason to question it other than intuition. Once Dec 2nd (which was a Sunday) came and went and still no Kelsey she reported her missing. That week off "notification" obviously worked, imo.

This thread gave me the idea of rubber-banding a phone to a semi. Might throw the cops off for awhile. In this case, I think someone drove that way with Kelsey in some state of incapacitation and the phone. It may make her very hard to find, sadly.

If it wasn't Kelsey who texted work, it would have to be someone who knew her contact person at work was. Surely it'd be more than a text to Doss Aviation. More like her immediate supervisor's name. Only someone close to Kelsey would know that name.

Fiance received text from Kelsey's cell 11/25. The same day Kelsey's cell texted her job saying she would be out for the following week. 11/25 was when cell first pinged in Gooding, Idaho.

I would like to know the pinged location of the fiancés phone when it received "Kelsey's" text on the 25th, the day her phone pinged in Idaho.

Yeah. I’ve seen this type of thing too many times to believe that it was anything other than intentional.

He may have been “cooperative,” which simply means that he’s answered questions willingly, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t draw suspicion.

It also doesn’t mean that they think he is being truthful.

If they genuinely believed that he wasn’t involved, they wouldn’t have said (paraphrasing) “you’d have to ask him why he didn’t report her missing.”

That was a shot at him.

Good to know - thanks for clarifying. Seems to be a lot of circle talk. We need a good time line posted.
We can start one. I'm a bit confused so this isn't necessarily correct - please make corrections, anyone.

Thurs, THANKSGIVING, Nov 22: Kelsey and baby at Safeway. Hands off baby to fiance (father of baby). Last time Kelsey was seen. Home-baked cinnamon buns found in her kitchen. Nothing missing from home except purse. Car is at home.

Sun, Nov 25. Kelsey's mother texts fiance asking about Kelsey. (Did mother also request welfare check from LE on this date?) Fiance received text from Kelsey's phone. Kelsey's employer receives text from Kelsey's phone that she will not be in work that week (week of Nov 26). Kelsey's phone pings in Idaho.

Sun, Dec 2. Kelsey's mother files missing person report.

Mon, Dec 10. LE holds press conference. Kelsey's mom talks at the PC - says Kelsey is not the type to run off. Fiance invited to attend PC but didn't. LE says fiance is cooperating.

Edited to correct day of week for Dec 2. That was a Sunday.

Kelsey's phone may have texted that she is taking a week off from work, but it may not have been Kelsey doing the texting.

Forgive me if this info is posted elsewhere. I have been through previous posts but didn't see any detailed info regarding these questions.

1.) How long has Kelsey been on her flight instructor job?
2.) Did she normally text work when she wouldn't be in?

Thank you in advance for any input you can provide.

So many questions.

One is: what were Kelsey's plans for Thanksgiving?

Absolutely. That’s something that is done by phone call, not text.

I’m curious if there was a text chain, or if her employer simply received a text and no further responses from her when/if they inquired as to why she needed that much time off.

I would also like to see the text sent from Kelsey's cell to her fiance on 11/25.

Did KB drive her car to the Safeway for the child exchange with the child's Father ? Who was the main caregiver for the child, KB or the Father ?

Welcome to Websleuths.

At the press conference, it was stated that Kelsey had lived in the area since 2016. Not sure how long she has been with her employer.
