You're absolutely right-I had a major brain fart. She could be anywhere. Sadly, I don't believe Kelsie is alive. We had a miracle in Ohio recently, but I don't see that happening in this case. I think she was lured down here for one reason, and one reason alone. Premeditation all the way. I'm hoping for an arrest sooner rather than later. And I do believe they will charge him.

Usually when someone goes missing when last seen by a boyfriend, they don't show up years later from being held hostage. It's strangers who do that horrible deed. I agree with you!

New Westword article. They got DL's name wrong in it. Other than that, it's pretty much a recap of what we know. http://blogs.westword.com/latestwor...ng_missing_billboards_search_party.php?page=2

Thanks for the article Spamelope. :)
Yeah I see they have his name wrong on page one, but on page three they have the correct name. I am surprised they did not proofread, but yet, I am not surprised.
I like the fact this article has the photos of the car, too, and other photos.

Hiya, treelights. :) I've loved Westword for a few decades now, so I'm going to forgive them just this once lol. I'm just glad they haven't outsourced their journalists to India like so many others have. I'm grateful for this flutter of activity-billboard, search, articles-they're keeping Kelsie's name and beautiful face in the news. We plan on going to the search on Sunday. If anyone is interested, people are carpooling from the Denver metro area.

"Search party for Kelsie Schelling"

"A search party on Sunday at 11 a.m. is the latest effort in trying to find her. It will start at the old Pueblo Greyhound Park off of Lake Avenue, from there searchers will canvas several different areas."

"The focus of the search is on the south side because that is where Kelsie was last seen, the southside Walmart, with the car being found by the southside hospital," said Gonzales.

We saw the billboard on Northern, and it's in the best spot ever! It's right by the State Fair Grounds. Hopefully, she's found by then, but if not, she will have maximum exposure.

I really thought a few weeks ago something was going to break in this case. Can't believe there's still nothing :(

What a wonderful turnout! I'm not an official crowd counter, but I'd say probably 200 people showed up. The news said 100, but I think there was a lot more. The weather was perfect-while it's been beastly hot lately, today was extremely pleasant-maybe mid 70s. Seems things aligned perfectly for the search. Apparently, Kelsie's family-per KRDO news that just aired, were unaware that the area we were in had been searched by LE. He apparently was unaware of this until we were almost done. He seemed apologetic, almost as though it were a waste of our time. Nothing could be further from the truth! My daughter and I were only too happy to do something tangible to help find evidence related to Kelsie. We would certainly go again should they ever need us to. We have been so impatient with the lack of information given to us by LE-imagine how her parents, friends and family feel, because they don't know a whole lot more than we do. As frustrating as it has to be for them, I do get it. They don't want to tip a certain person off. In fact, I wanted to make sure I saw what was on the news so I didn't share anything not already reported. I do hope that whoever did this knows that all those people today care so much about Kelsie. The vibe of love for her is in such contrast to how people feel about whoever is responsible for this tragedy and the enablers who shield him. Coworkers and neighbors and the businesses they frequent, they all are viewing them with suspicion and mistrust. And mockery. Mike, a patron of the liquor store did one impersonation of a family member on the news that was SNL worthy. One person's selfishness and immaturity has brought so much pain to one family, and scorn to their own.
Anyways, the items we were looking for were: a rainbow colored teddy bear, car key, black rosary, a metal "Love" sign on a chain, and US Army backpack. Also, Kelsie may have been wearing blue jeans and Ugg boots. This is great to know-we will keep our eyes open for these items.

And it's great to know the items you were searching for, and also what she may have been wearing.

"The pregnant 22 year-old went missing back in February, after police say she drove from Denver to Pueblo to visit her boyfriend. Kelsie's brother Colby Schelling is frustrated with Donthe Lucas. "I haven't seen anything from his side to try and go with the search or anything like that," Colby said."

This short article also talks about the search today.
