About this Case​

On November 20th, 1977, 30 year old Maria Abbatiello-Smith was reported missing. Six days later, her body was found within a vacant field near the 700 block of Mariposa Street. During the investigation, it was determined that Maria was the victim of a homicide. Prior to her death, Maria worked at the Airman's Club on the Lowry Air Force Base.

from what i've gathered through ancestry, CBI and the Denver Cold Case page got her name wrong (they have done this before, like with Barbara F Bradley): her real full name is Marie Sandra Smith (nee Abbatiello). she often went by her middle name Sandra. upon marriage in Oct. 1976, she took her husband's surname of Smith (this seems to be her legal last name, not Abbatiello-Smith)

ETA Marie is of Italian descent. she is not Hispanic
