The South Fork Police Department would like the publics help in finding a missing person. Marlena Mizell has been missing since Saturday January 3rd. She left the Rainbow Motel in a blue Ford Focus with Texas plate: NMK6052. If you have any information, please contact the South Fork Police Department at 719-873-1040.

It is odd to have two people with that name but, this person looks different to me. Also, it looks like the arrest stems from July2020?? Possible, but odd. Nothing surprises me anymore from these cases. Lol.

Woman missing from South Fork for over a week

• last seen pumping gas at the Rainbow Grocery on Jan. 2
• cell phone pinged 33 miles north of Dulce, N.M., ~44 miles away from her last known location
• blue 2010, 4-door, Ford Focus(NMK6502) - not located as of Monday

• high cheek bones
• scars - chin and neck
• ears - pierced
• two tattoos: a hummingbird near stomach and a butterfly on ankle
• wearing a black one piece pants jumpsuit

She looks happy in her last posts. It looks like she left a fiance and pets behind. He has her background info and info on the circumstances of her disappearance.

Her official missing fb page only has one post from January 20 and some photos. If it's run by Marlena's family, I'm not sure why they didn't include her daughters' video appeal (on YouTube) from the same day. It contains a lot of pertinent information and the daughters ask for it to be shared.

Often suspicion turns on the missing person's spouse/partner first, especially if loved ones find circumstances unusual or unlikely. In this case, if she was indeed seen alone pumping gas, it could indicate her intent to leave, which makes it less likely that something happened to her at home (IMO). It's sad that there doesn't seem to be any official search effort yet. Are phone pings not specific enough?

She was moving out and headed to Pagosa Springs, but her phone last pinged near Dulce, New Mexico? Was she headed back to Texas?

Marlena was last seen at a gas station in South Fork, Colorado on 01/02/2021. She was last seen driving a 2012 blue Ford Focus with Texas License Plate #NMK6502.

It all happened fairly quickly. Marlena spoke to one of her daughters on the phone sounding normal and a few hours later she was gone. From her fb it appears that she stayed with her bf. He gives his version (reasons for her being upset) that I'm not sure her daughters are buying, because they avoid mentioning him in the video. They find it hard to believe that their mother would just leave, not even taking a winter coat with her. Since she was seen on CCTV afterwards (still in South Fork), perhaps the bf isn't involved (IMO).

I think Pagoda Springs is in the same direction as Dulce, coming from South Fork. The question is, why did her phone go dark in that particular area? Did she not want to be found or something happened? The daughters traveled there and did some random searching with the help of locals. If Marlena was staying on main roads, she would likely have been found. The search area isn't specific enough for SAR to get involved, according to the daughters.

Was she heading back to Texas? If so she likely would have taken HW84E right? The weather seemed to be cold, but no snow or rain on January 2nd. If she was seen getting gas and leaving the area, I don't know why her bf would be a suspect?
