Found Deceased CO - Megan Trussell, CU sudent, last seen in residence hall, FBI involved, 9 Feb 2025

I believe it is her Mom (Initials V.D.) with some updates on FB if you look. A little more detail on where Megan was found and some info confirming the LE involvement mentioned in MSM. My heart goes out to her.

In an updated release sent out on Monday, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said they are actively investigating the discovery of the deceased woman. She was found on “hard-to-reach terrain” and required a technical evacuation, including the need to rappel, according to the original release issued on Saturday.

She was found in very hard to reach, mountainous terrain. I can't wait to find out what the coroner says. Rest in peace Megan.
Here is more info on the area she was found and the investigation, including photos of the area and video of the search. No paywall.

I’m so sad about the update - she seemed like an incredibly popular girl (her funeral fund has already raised $39000 !)

Hopefully the family get answers about what happened to her
The whole family is incredibly well-liked around Boulder/Denver. Although I don't know them, probably a dozen people I know well do. You can even see my family members in the search party in the Denver Channel 7 footage I posted. Megan and her family are very beloved.

No vehicle. Not dressed for hiking or some outdoor activity. No foul play. Accident or suicide, I guess.

Unclear why she would have been out there in an area that would require such recovery efforts if it was just an accident. Being "above" Boulder Canyon Road, meaning up the mountain, would seem to rule out a traffic accident.

Suicide seems most likely. The longer we go without any real info the more I'll think so.

Very sad. But what does "Hard to reach spot" even mean? On the side of a road no one travels on much? Up the side of a hill? In a pile of rocks at the bottom of the hill? In a trench?

I never trust when LE says there is no concern in the community. In the Idaho Murders, LE said there was no public danger. If I recall, it was "the killings were an "isolated targeted attack" with "no imminent threat"". Why might this not be the same, with LE not wanting to tip their hand? IMO it still could be anything including homicide, suicide, death by misadventure or whatever they call it when you go somewhere in a car with someone and they kick you out in the middle of nowhere and you freeze to death.

I wondered that too, than reread one of the articles that further stated they had to rappel into the spot to recover her body. That implies much more than the side of a road or a trench. I'm thinking a fall of a distance, perhaps unintentionally but dont know the circumstances of why she would have been out in that area to speculate beyond that. For her Mom's sake, and all who love her, I'm glad they found her.
