Circumstances of Disappearance: Michael Joseph Owen lived in a pink church in Leadville in 1982. He was somewhat transient between San Diego, California and Hawaii - and was an avid surfer. He often went by the name Brian Jacobson. He suffered from mental illness exacerbated by drug use.

So I am curious about this case. According to Namus the date of last contact is 1978 but when we read the circumstances it gives us a date of 1982. I wonder if he was just forgotten about more or less? Maui is investigating the case but I dont see a case number case listed for him.
