"On Friday morning, a UPS driver said his driver's side window suddenly shattered. The driver was taken to a hospital to be treated, according to the Colorado State Patrol. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Another driver's window shattered on Thursday afternoon, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan. The newspaper said it happened to a driver on I-25 near Colorado Highway 14, north of Fort Collins."

Snip

"7NEWS reporter Jennifer Kovaleski contacted the task force about the latest incident and was told there is no evidence that a firearm or projectile was involved in the Loveland case."

"A man reported a window in his company truck shattered while driving on the interstate around 2 p.m., said Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis. It’s unclear which window shattered and what caused it to break.

After the man reported it, he drove back to work and replaced the window and vacuumed the evidence, according to emergency scanner reports. No evidence is likely to come from the vehicle, Lewis said."

(We have seen here how multiple incidents have occurred in the same day (thread 1 / spreadsheet, map, etc...). My best friend is on I 25 right now in the vicinity of these incidents. I just texted her to be careful and keep an eye out, as our possible sniper is back in action. How messed up is this, that I have to text by bff and tell her to careful of being shot at. This is very upsetting to me, and I've got that awful sick feeling again that I did before Connole was shot. I was so hoping that NS was our guy. It is clear to me from these back to back shatterings that we still have this serious problem on our hands, jmo. I have so many loved ones on these roads...I am just sick about this. C'mon Homeland Security, FBI Task Force, local LE...please get this guy(s), before more people die!!)

Back in business!

I've mapped the I-25 near CO Hwy 14 incident from yesterday (Thurs., 7/20/15) as a yellow circle below. The rest of the circles are mainstream media reports of unexplained shatterings of windows of vehicles in motion. The four stars are the three shootings (Romero, Jacoby and Connole) and the one missed shot at an unknown guy. I notice that Katie de la Rosa's Coloradoan article about the shooting was based on a combination of statements by Trooper Josh Lewis, a Colorado State Police spokeman and scanner traffic. I wonder which came first?

I'm still looking for a location for the other incident, the one that happened today.

Boy am I glad to see you. Again, thank you for all your work here. Please know it is not something I take for granted, even though I just hollered at you like I do, lol!

Assuuuuming a possible connection here, the hit on the UPS / semi truck seems like somewhat of an escalation, imo...the size of the truck, the possible damage that could happen had that truck rolled over/crashed into other vehicles...

I'm also sensing some brazenness/cockiness in the sense that we are possibly back in Loveland again, right under LE's noses...the message here seems to me, "nanananabooboo, you can't catch me...". Or like The Shining, "I'm baaaaaaaaackkkk...".

Jmo.

Ugh... My family and I were all over these roads last weekend and early week. I kept my eyes out for anything strange. I highly doubt that windows are just "shattering" from road debris.

Jumping off your post, FTR there was freaky weather on Tuesday I believe it was, where the temperature dropped down to the 70s (really wierd in the middle of August imo), then the temp went back up to hot again the next day and has stayed hot, so there have been dramatic temperature changes this week, fwiw.

The map really puts the latest incident in perspective, right in the middle of a cluster of 4 others (D Sharp, etc)... what is the exact mileage to CR and JJ?

I've added today's (Fri. 8/21/15) UPS truck window shattering incident to the case map linked here. It displays, for the moment, as a yellow diamond. Yesterday's incident still shows as a yellow circle. Like almost everything else in the article and associated video by Deb Stanley and ABC News 7, the time and location of today's incident is vague: "this morning" and "on I-25 near mile marker 259".

Screenshot 2015-08-21 at 2.53.07 PM.png

The Colorado State Patrol and the Loveland Police were both involved in offering news on the incident. Loveland Police reported the incident to the NOCO Task Force, but the Task Force is not involved in investigating it. "Authorities" (we don't know which agency) say that today's and yesterday's window shatterings are not thought to be related to prior shootings or window shatterings.

Thank you, Forager. As always:
:yourock:

Thank you for taking the time to do this; I know you're in the middle of a road trip (FHG told me the other night, lol).

Yeah, I'm not liking this proximity to Romero ONE BIT...jmo

*It's almost been 4 months to the day since CR was shot in the neck while driving.

IMO, there's a possible message here: "I/(we) am not done yet. Catch me if you can, suckers!"

ETA: Possibilities:
Same shooter(s)?
Copycat?
Someone in NS's group taking over?

How far is today's shattering from Connole (and yesterday's shattering from Romero? (I'm afraid to ask...)

Forager, more specific info:

"The incident happened about 9:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the Crossroads Boulevard exit at mile marker 259, and officials do not believe it is linked to a string of shootings and shattered windows in northern Colorado earlier this year.

The Loveland Police Department said the driver, 59-year-old Leland Sloan of Parker, suffered an eye injury after the driver’s side window shattered as he drove in the right through lane. The extent of the injury is not known."

"A UPS truck driver was taken to a hospital Friday morning after a window on the truck was blown out while traveling on Interstate 25, the Colorado State Patrol said."

Snip

"On Thursday afternoon, a truck driver’s window shattered on I-25 near Colorado Highway 14 north of Fort Collins, The Coloradoan reported. It’s not known what caused the window to shatter, the Colorado State Patrol told the newspaper.

The newspaper said it happened to a driver on I-25 near Colorado Highway 14, north of Fort Collins. The man was apparently not injured.

On June 23, the task force said a person reported they were shot at on the night of June 3 near Denver Avenue and East Eisenhower Boulevard in Loveland. That was about two miles from where Bill Connole was shot and killed at East First Street and St. Louis Avenue later that night. The person shot at was not injured."

Here are some distances as the crow flies. (ETA: This screen shot does not yet reflect a new posting of yours - #94 - with a better location description for today's incident. I've since moved the map marker 0.2 miles further south.)

Wow, thank you so much.

So 4ish miles each (today's shattering from Connole and yesterday's shattering from Romero).

That's also about the distance between Jacoby and CR, iirc.

NOT GOOD.

Eta: one of the lines of today's shattering to Connole also almost intersects the "shot missed" incident.

And today's shattering is 6 miles to Jacoby (AND to Romero actually :waitasec: )...
*6 miles has always been a number/distance that has popped up here in other cases, one that seems to apply quite often, jmo.

I don't really understand why the reporter repeated that stuff about the missed shot. We had noted it a while ago and shown it as a star (for a clear gunshot) as opposed to a circle (any undetermined but potentially deliberate attack with anything from a slingshot up to a possible gun). The NOCO Task Force had linked that one to the nearby Connole shooting and did a big search in a development behind it.

But I hadn't known about yesterday's or today's shatterings. Thank you for having done the searching to pick up on them!

So, a semi truck's window is quite high, and higher off the ground than other vehicles...

Yes, today's and yesterday's incidents were right in the core of our case area. I can't see what could be making the LE commentators conclude that these incidents are not connected to the earlier ones along I-25. The times of day are consistent with the earlier incidents - and particularly so the early Thursday afternoon time slot, our guy's favorite. The lack of any ballistic evidence or clear sightings of an attacker are consistent with almost all of the prior shattering incidents along I-25.

ETA: Just saw your post below. I'll grant you that the semi is out of of the normal pattern.
