Ryan Schroeder, 36, was believed to be traveling back to Casper from a short trip to Denver when he stopped communicating with friends and family on June 26, according to police spokesperson Rebekah Ladd.

Ladd said there are still many unknowns in the investigation, and the department is looking for any information members of the public may have about Schroeder or his disappearance. Investigators have been talking to relatives and friends in Casper since a family member reported him missing on July 8, nearly two weeks after his reported disappearance.

Ummm, did his phone go dead? On a walkabout? Self-harm? Lost his phone? Just wanted to be alone for a few days? Hiking or walking and fell? Robbed, or worse? Depressed and withdrawing from society, STS, for a while? Spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend problems or breakup? Fired from his job? On and on.
Thinking positive thoughts.

I didn't see this info before - “Ryan left for Denver on June 24th with a friend. The friend alleges that he dropped Ryan off at a convenience store and that was the last he saw him,” a statement from We Help The Missing said. “It was also the last time the family has heard from him.”

I wonder why Ryan's friend dropped him off at a store. Did Ryan ask to be dropped off there or was there some sort of an argument between him and his friend?

So, he was dropped off at a convenience store in Casper? Am I understanding this correctly?

Most convenience stores have cameras, inside and outside, so that should be easy to confirm. That said, two weeks is a long time and the video may no longer be available.

I also wonder if he is a veteran.

Detectives don't believe Schroeder's death is a "random act" and say there is no threat to the public.

I don't believe Ryan's death was a random act either. I wonder what his "friend" who dropped him off at the store believes.

Rest in peace, Ryan. May justice come quick.

She was surprised by how difficult it was to initially report her cousin missing, and she automatically assumed protocols for reporting missing adults were already in place.]

Currently, Wyoming is one of six states not to have missing person protocols in place and one of 10 that doesn’t require law enforcement to report missing adults to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database that’s accessible to all law enforcement agencies.
