14-year-old girl reportedly taken in Wyoming found safe

An AMBER Alert issued in Wyoming for 14-year-old girl was cancelled Friday night after the girl was found safe in another state.

CASPER, Wyo. (KKTV) - An AMBER Alert was issued on Thursday in Wyoming for a 14-year-old girl.

According to the Casper Police Department, Gracelyn Pratt may be with a family “acquaintance” 36-year-old James Martin. The two may be traveling in a black 2014 Ford F-150 with Wyoming license plate 1-3 6 9 2 9.

If seen, you’re asked to call 911. If you have information call 307-235-8278.

Amber Alert Activation—Casper, Wyoming (November 17, 2022)

On November 16, 2022, the Casper Police Department took a runaway report involving a fourteen-year-old girl, Gracelyn PRATT (picture attached). Gracelyn’s legal guardian reported Gracelyn missing when she did not return home from school. The Casper Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit assigned a detective to the case who immediately began looking into Gracelyn’s whereabouts. Through the course of that investigation, it was learned that Gracelyn had been having long-term communication with an adult family acquaintance identified as James Warren MARTIN (36 years of age; picture attached). Detectives learned that MARTIN and Gracelyn recently had been seen together in the days leading up to Gracelyn being reported as a runaway.

It is believed at this time that Gracelyn is with MARTIN, and MARTIN is interfering with the legal custody of a minor child in violation of Wyoming State Statute.

Both MARTIN and PRATT have been observed in MARTIN’s vehicle, identified as a black 2014 Ford F150. The vehicle is described as having a “lift kit.”

Gracelyn is described as a 14-year-old girl 5 foot 1 inch tall, weighing 109 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair.

MARTIN is described as a 36-year-old man 5 foot 10 inches tall weighing between 260-300 pounds. MARTIN has blue eyes and brown hair.

Josselyn Jeanne, a Casper woman, posted to her Facebook page Wednesday night that her 14-year-old daughter Gracelyn Pratt was missing after having skipped school that day. The Casper Police Department said the girl was reported as a runaway.

“She is assumed to be picked up by James Martin,” a 36-year-old man who quit his job that same morning, Jeanne said. The police confirmed that Martin and the girl had left town together.

She added that the pair could be headed toward Devils Tower or Cody.

As far as I’m concerned this girl has been trafficked following a young life that information suggests (not proves! Suggests) has not been easy. I pray she is found, her name is stripped off the internet, she is inundated with love and caring and quality social services and she gets a full fresh start.

I'm guessing that the photo on the right is closer to what he looks like now. The Amber Alert says that he is 5'10" and between 260 and 300 pounds. The photo on the right might be his drivers license photo taken a while ago. Just my guess.

I wonder why they think they might be headed to Cody or Devils Tower. Does JM have some previous connections to these areas? Did he live there in the past or visit there for camping, etc.? There doesn't seem to be anything around Devils Tower...no nearby towns.

I do hope they hit every pharmacy in WY/MT/ID/CO/NE saying, this guy has wild red hair and a colostomy bag and he’s gonna be buying colostomy supplies. Pull the robbery button if a squat ginger who looks like an unkempt Lord of the Rings extra tries to buy the bags, we are coming ASAP, stall. I wonder how these guys think they’re ever going to get away with these things. He’s got days at best. I pray she is unhurt and gets the care she needs.

Typically someone with a colostomy bag gets supplies sent to their home from a medical supply company and would probably have packed what he needed from home since this was obviously planned out. Most colostomy bags are reusable though and are just emptied out and reattached. I must have missed where he has a colostomy. Not something I think a 14 year old girl would be very understanding of.

Casper PD: Suspect and Child in Amber Alert Case Have Been Located

The Casper Police Department announced that the Amber Alert that was called on November 17 has been cancelled, as the child and the suspect have been located.
