Found Deceased CO - Sebastian Castro Rivas, 3, Eagle, 5 June 2020

  • #241
Can anyone verify Sebastian's legal name? I see msm articles using both Sebastian Castro Rivas and Sebastian Rodriguez Castro. The online fundraiser uses the second one. I keep worrying I'm missing news because of the two names and have to Google both to check. TIA!
On the original post on page one of this thread it lists him as Sebastian Castro Rivas by The Eagle Fire or Police Department and The Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On the signs that were placed all around in different places he is listed as Sebastian Rodriguez Castro. I hope I got that right. It's a lot to remember. To cover all bases i guess you could continue to look up both names.

I've been checking in but have stayed away from posting on this thread. I don't think the parents in this case have anything to do with his disappearance. I also felt because of the language barrier, some of the things Dad has said were being twisted.

Does anyone feel that Sebastian may not be in the river? It seems LE is convinced he is, but maybe this was an abduction?

That's interesting to hear that the dad looked down the path at night and didn't find anything. Makes me wonder where did Sebastion enter the water ? Somewhere else perhaps. Another twist in the story.
Dad said it was found by nephew on Sunday between 3 and 4pm. It’s just hinky. I feel bad saying that. Hopefully, there’s evidence it was water-damaged but what if the nephew had it all along? What if he found it somewhere else?[/QUOMaybe the police should question the nephew who found the phone; especially since the dad already looked down the path at night with a flashlight and seems certain the phone wasn't there. I would question the nephew more. He could be hiding information IMO.

I believe he is in the river because of where they found his red shoe. Since the dad checked the path behind their apartment at night with a flashlight and is convinced the phone wasn't there, I think LE should question the nephew if possible. He may be hiding information. As someone said in an earlier post, maybe he had it (the phone) all along or took it from Sebastion.

Hi Knox,
The dad thinks there’s a strong possibility it was an abduction. He is especially suspicious of the Speech app installed on the phone. That’s why he called in to the show to ask for help getting this point across and to contact LE to issue an Amber Alert for Sebastian.

I guess I could be leaning both ways? If the mom did in fact take him and his cousin on that hour and a half walk, maybe someone nefarious saw them, followed them and patiently waited for a chance to take him.

I also wondered if his Mom accidentally forgot him at the playground? I think this is a possibility to consider. The cameras only captured him there. Maybe someone lured him from there or maybe he walked towards the river. His dad said he was strongly attracted to it.

14 Days - have we heard of bodies not turning up in a river after two weeks?

Is it possible that mom left Sebastian with the nephew/cousin while she took her purchase up to the apartment?

I think that is a strong possibility. Although the dad never said they purchased anything. He said they went for their walk all the way by the train tracks, postal office, up to Primavera Liquors and turned around. So we have no confirmation a purchase was made.

What if the nephew and Sebastion were down by the river by the apartment and the nephew struggled with Sebastion to get the phone away from him and in the proçess both the phone and Sebastion ended up in the water ? It would have been an accident.

The Eagle is a tributary (runs off of) of the Colorado River up in the area of Avon, Co and it is approximately 65 miles long. It travels east of Eagle past the area of the apartments where Sebastion lived. The Eagle River meets and flows into the Colorado River at Dotsero, Co. I estimated it is about 13 miles between Eagle and Dotsero; that's a lot of river mileage to search.

One of the children found in the water in Tulsa OK was a 45 minute drive from the area they entered the water. :(
OK - Miracle Lashay Crook, 3, & Tony Demone Crook, 2, 21st and I-44, Tulsa, 21 May 2020

Just looked both those small children up. I read they have video of Miracle and Tony playing behind their apartment unsupervised at Mingo Creek and their mother who did not have custody, was not with them. Similar situation with Sebastion in that Eagle River is behind his apartment.

This is just sad I had hoped they would of found him by now .where could this little guy be what happened to him.
He could be anywhere in the river, east of where his apartment building is. I just read on average 12 people drown in Colorado River waterways every year. That's a lot of drownings IMO. Last year (2019l there were 22.

I don't think a fence on the property behind the apartment building would prevent someone from going to the river because inevitably someone always cuts a hole in it. There is a 6 ft. chain link fence in front of the small apartment building I live in. The land on the other side of the fence slopes down to the water. I am fairly certain, the fence was originally put there to prevent small children (of which there are many) from getting near the water. Someone cut a hole in it. The brush and bushes have grown so thick in recent years, you can't see the hole which IMO is a good thing.

That is mind boggling. Poor angels... The baby girl was found on the fourth day and the boy on the fifth.

Interesting information regarding how far they travelled, posted by People.com:

“The first body was located 45 miles away—traveling through about 100 miles of waterway before being found, authorities said. The second one was located closer to where the pair were reported missing in east Tulsa, traveling only about 15 miles of waterway.”

They seemed to find them pretty quickly no matter how close for far away they were. Why haven't they found little Sebastion yet ?

Search for missing 3-year-old in Eagle County enters new phase

Found msm confirmation saying his shoe was found:

‘Cupp was asked about statements made by Castro’s father last week. His father, Manuel Rodriguez, told our news partners at Univision he did not believe his son ended up at the Eagle River located nearby the apartment where his family lives.

According to Cupp, the evidence they have so far points to the river. Last week they found a cellphone near the river that belongs to Castro’s mom, but the parents confirmed the little boy had with him when he disappeared. They also found one of Castro’s shoes in the river.’

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. But there was a drowning in the same area last May. Ryan Benjamin Kirby-Daniels. It took two months for him to be found due to the heavy flow and deep waters of the spring run off. He went missing in Edwards, which is to to the east of Eagle. He was found between Edwards and Walcott. There is a really wide stretch of river followed by a bottleneck just west of the area where this family lives. I hate to say it. But he was a small child, and it's a big river. It's very difficult to find something that small in a big river.

Body found in Eagle River is missing Vail Valley teen
Thank you CluelessWonder. So he could be there but might not be found until the water levels are lower.
