Why all the analysis? He is a killer. A murderer. Talk this into infinity. Christopher Watts is a cold blooded killer. Life in Prison or Death by lethal injection. Rot in hell. And may his life until death be as painful and as unmerciful as he delivered to his family who LOVED HIM.

Rereading the Arrest Affidavit, it is remarkable how little information it contains about probable cause of Chris' guilt. The first one-and-three-quarters page were pretty boilerplate, discussing the original call and the first steps in the investigation. Then at the very bottom of page two and continuing for two more short paragraphs on page three, we get CW's version of the facts, but very little information stating why they believe his version to be false.

Interestingly, CW corroborated what the police already knew when he confirmed the areas where he had disposed of the bodies. Corroboration is important because it helps prevent false confessions. That is why the police never give out all the details about a crime scene. If a suspect knows details that have not been released to the public, then it proves they have personal knowledge, and haven't just read about the crime in the news.

Sadly, we are still discussing because some of the logical, insightful individuals on WS are attempting to counter the CW fan club. It is sick.
So if these people with differing opinions weren't on the thread, then the case would no longer be discussed?

We're a true-crime discussion board. We discuss cases.

Yes, we do discuss cases. Unfortunately, there is no more cerebral discussion. Sad, we have dissolved to this.

Has it been confirmed that the girls were dead before being put in the oil tank?

I know a strong theory here is that the children were already dead when Shanann got home.

But as far as family annhilators go, I think some of them, if motivated immensely by spite and revenge, want to kill the children in front of the mother. Of course seeing the children already dead would still illicit the same hurt, trauma, shock and agony, but I keep thinking about this, if it’s possible for him to have killed the children in front of her for his own sick revenge and pleasure. And if so, as I asked before, how could this be accomplished...maybe he restrained her, jmo.
I’ve had this thought has in my head for a while now but it’s so terrible I’ve been reluctant to post it. Your post about CW wanting SW to suffer reminded me of it though. So here goes ... If CW killed the girls before their Mom got home, do you think he told them Mommy didn’t love them and Mommy was making him hurt them?

Look guys, haters are going to hate, but it is entirely within your power how you react.

If you don't like what some people are saying, then ignore them.

If you keep reacting to those posts, then this thread will get shut down. AGAIN.

Please learn from the past. When you react, you get disciplined, but the person who caused you to react gets off scott free.

I thought the post meant a certain poster was trying to trick us, and that the poster was maybe a man. But I don't think that poster IS a man after all. Just sayin'.

I'm quite certain they were referring to CW, as they mentioning him being the murderer. In any case, it's against TOS to essentially talk smack about other posters in the thread, so I'm sure they weren't doing that.

Do we know how long the talk with his father was?
The request and permission for CW to speak to his Dad is cited in the Arrest Affidavit, but It does not give how long they were allowed to talk.

Okay...
That wasn't the point, however.
The point is. CW murdered his family. He confessed. Do we want to support and make excuses for him? He is a murderer. A killer. Innocent until found guilty? He will still be a murderer.

IMO, it's tedious to discuss the discussion.

Not telling people how to post, just sharing my opinion.

Back to the case....someone posted above asking when SW contacted CW to let him know the flight would be late. That is a great question. If this has been posted before, please refresh the info for those of use who missed it: What time was the flight supposed to land? And what was the time the flight was supposed to have taken off? Do we know?

Thanks for posting that. So, he did not give a "partial confession" before he spoke with his father, according to that document. Nor does it say he was interrogated for hours before speaking with his father. Nor does it say how long the meeting with his father took. There is a redacted spot there, but not much can fit in that area, IMO.
