I'll bet they had an emotional discussion......
"Hi honey. Glad you finally made it home. We need to talk about a few things. The girls are dead and you and Nico are next."

FWIW, the second episode of this season's Better Call Saul contained a brutal and graphic depiction of asphyxiation, but that episode aired on Monday night, August 13, and so SW and the children were already dead by then, so there should not have been any way for CW to be copying that scene.

I think CW was defective so nothing he does or says is explainable or excusable, imo, so I'm just speaking of the potential psychology of why he put the girls he was so "devoted" to into the oil...

He seemed to have good feelings about the oil business, or "tar heels" ...if that's the case maybe to HIM putting them there was not only a good place to hide them but also it's not so bad of a place for them to be, in his twisted mind. Some are saying he must have hated the girls and that's why he put them there, and SW in a grave, albeit a shallow one. I think the opposite is true. But maybe if he had time he would have buried them all, or if there was room in the tanks SW would've been in there too...who knows, but the thing is, he's guilty as sin of killing all of them in cold blood. If he had snapped he never snapped out of it because this was premidated, imo. He just ran out of time. (And thank you, NU!)
IMO CW only buried her because she was to heavy to get into the oil tanks

If someone breaks into your house, and you have the chance to shoot and kill them, some people would. Someone kills your kids, some people would kill the person that did it. IMO

Most parents would be more concerned with SAVING their unconscious children, than meting out punishment. I would hit that person over the head, stab them, shoot them, WHATEVER needed to quickly get them off my child. Then all of my attention would be towards saving the child's life. So calling 911, screaming for neighbors, doing CPR, would all take precedence, over strangling the other parent for 5 or 6 minutes, while my child slowly died.

It could be that he couldn't fit SW in the oil container but I like #2 as to why the shallow grave. He really didn't want children to be found IMO.
Check out the video posted earlier today. She definitely could fit in the oil container. They are really big. I think he couldn't lift the dead weight, to put it bluntly, to the height needed to put her in. He could carry the girls. I've come to suspect his original plan was for all three of them to end up in the tanks.

It says it can take only take seconds and of course it's horrific, disgusting, gross and all the other words, but changing the narrative for a reaction is not necessary MOO

It can take seconds. It takes minutes to die. If you think that's not a long time, suffering, struggling to breathe, terrified, for two little babies, then we simply disagree.

I didn't change the narrative. I maintain that it took a long time and they suffered. This wasn't a gun shot or carbon monoxide.

SBM

We don't really know that he was tracked by Anadarko's GPS. If he regularly worked at that location by himself, then GPS alone would not be a reason to question him. In fact, it would be an alibi, of sorts.

But the doofus got spooked and didn't bury SW properly, and the sheet blew away from him.

Indeed and he may have found a work- around on the device?
(If he did that he would have had the sense to remove the chip from his cell too.)

Early MSM, a thread way back, we were told that he was not meant to be at that cervi that day. It's frustrating that it's so hard to back and re-find the link and hard to work out how Anadarko knew he'd been there.

Not disagreeing they suffered, just that it wasn't for a long time as they can become unconscious within seconds. Also we have no actual proof they were strangled, just that the defense want their necks swabbed for DNA. So it may a natural conclusion to come to but it's not actual fact, as yet.

A couple of minutes of suffering feels like an eternity to the one feeling it.

LINK Please that CW killed his girls. Link Please!
Since Chris Watts is going to go on trial for killing his family a link is not necessary. The prosecution will provide the evidence.

I know. I just finished “Man’s Search For Meaning” (Viktor E. Frankle) .
name corrected

(OT: One of the best books I've ever read - it has been a big influence on my life ever since I read it in high school. If people haven't read it, please do. It is not a long read, but it's powerful and the message is positive, despite the horrific content.)

I wonder if an ME could tell if a child had been strangled vs smothered?

  • #1,153
I think the fact that, if they were strangled, they were conscious long enough to realize their father, their protector was the one taking their life, is enough suffering as is

Strangling usually leads to severe bruising around the neck, and I imagine a child's neck would bruise greatly under the force of a grown man

She did explain the scar. It was from a surgical procedure. As was the neck brace.
Thank you! I had always been curious about that. However, I still believe she has been physically abused in the past. MOO

About the only reasonable scenario I could think of is saying SW ran off with the kids, then someone else killed them and put them where they were found to frame him. Anything else is just too far-fetched to even consider IMO.

He might have tried that excuse if they hadn't reminded him they had footage from the neighbor's camera, which is pointed right at his front door. DOH!

I recall "coloring her hair" was often on SW posted agenda. And after seeing her promote the location and grand opening of her Mum's new salon, it made sense to me.....

Yes they could, there are specialist pathols here in the UK who work on cases of subtle signs of strangulation/asphyx ) so you will certainly have them in the US. .... but I know nothing about this oil & oil temperature scenario complicates things . (I have never needed to look it up on any case in past, sorry.)

I saw someone mention SW home-coloring her hair and maybe that was because of finances.... I color my own hair. Not because I have money problems, but because I always have and I see no reason to go to a salon for it. (Been doing it this way for almost 20 years now) I know people who disagree and won't home-color their hair and that's fine. But, I lighten and color mine temporary colors like pink, purple, blue, etc... and if I had a salon do it every time it needed done, I'd be dropping some serious cash on it. lol
