Also on the NIPT, she would not need to go to the doctor for those results. You can literally view them online. When you do a blood draw, you get a card with a code given to you, and you set up your online account (at least that's how mine worked). As soon as your doctor confirms receiving the result, the testing company posts them on your account.
I'd be shocked if she hadn't had it, tbh. Most women opt for it anymore, and the doctors push it hard. My doctor had me do it at at 11 weeks, it came back insufficient fetal fraction, and then pushed me to do a redraw at 14 weeks, and it came back insufficient as well. They wanted me to come back a third time and I declined. As with a lot of things, they get a kickback from the company for every test they run. And her insurance would've covered it since she was a high-risk pregnancy.
