But he just needs to convince 1, right?
Then we’ll have a retrial, and eventually a conviction. This would simply be delaying the inevitable. In the penalty phase, this could save him from death, that is if the DA wants to pursue it, and there isn’t a plea.

Don’t know when she found out, but she knew she was having a boy before she died — they had already named him Nico

I wonder if he knew?

Like others have already said, SW's posts were personal, but they also marketing pieces. She's known to be a good salesperson. And it's an effective sales tactic to "keep 'em coming back." Even if she knew the gender before revealing it, I don't think it's duplicitous as much as it's a good story to keep viewers to tune in again to see what happens.

She was good at what she did.

It's not necessarily duplicitous - tons of people DO find out the gender themselves, and then host a party to announce it to friends and family all at once. I can see that she might tell her NC family early since they wouldn't be in CO for the party itself, and wanting them to be the first to know. It's also possible that she DID NOT know, but that a friend helping with the party knew and after her passing told the family. Another possibility is that the fetus' gender was discovered during autopsy and passed on to the family at that point. I do not remember exactly when her brother announced the gender on his fb, but if I remember correctly, her autopsy was completed the Friday after her body was recovered.

Surprised me! I can’t say how many were removed, or compare month to month numbers, but I do know she said she couldn’t wait to see C.W. when she got home that night.
Was this posted by SW on the night she was murdered?

Chris Watts Case: Shanann Watts' Brother Details Family Heartache as He Thanks Well-Wishers
7 Sept 2018

The brother of murdered Colorado mom Shanann Watts said his family's "whole world was flipped on its head" by the tragedy, as he shared a heartfelt message of thanks for well-wishers.

"Our whole world was flipped on its head and changed our lives forever. We lost so much in a blink of an eye, but we also gained love and support from people all over and they became part of our FAMILY. I've never felt so loved in all my life, we can't thank you all enough."

He also had some words for his sister, who he called "an inspiration."

"You changed the world without even knowing," he wrote. "I hope we made you proud."

I followed a murder case on Websleuths a couple of years ago in which a husband murdered his wife. There were three gut-wrenching trials, resulting in two mistrials and finally, a conviction.

I suspect if there is a mistrial in this case, the prosecution will not give up, either.

Not a chance in hell will they give up, but I’m also not the slightest bit concerned about a mistrial here. This case is clear cut, despite C.W.’s best efforts to muddy the waters.

I didn’t know that.....interesting!

It actually said that she couldn't wait to get home to CW and the girls, and it was posted when delayed in AZ on the way home to CO.

SW's brother has been thanking public for prayers and support today, and this is what he said about CW family earlier:

Despite the harrowing circumstances, Rzucek asks that people pray for his brother-in-law's family as opposed to hating them.

"My prayers to his family," he wrote in a thoughtful Facebook post. "I pray people don't harass them or wish harm on anyone. God will take care of everyone and everything. They are our family and are hurting just as much."

The only thing I can think of for his sudden rage, was that Shanann was shocked to find out he had an affair with a male. I think she sat down at their computer to unwind after her trip and found something on there showing his affair or picked up his phone and saw messages and went balistic which caused him humliation and rage. There really is no other reason. MOO

Mum, NAU, and brother are 3 of many on the witness list. All will come out in trial. Everybody silenced early given speed of LE investigation. SW brother also reported BW was no show for Kdg orientation on Monday, and that went quiet too. MOO

BW?

KDG?

I don't understand what these are referring to. I think BW might mean SW, but kdg? I can't figure that one out

BW is the oldest daughter initials, and Kdg is Kindergarten (grade post pre-school).

It isn’t always inevitable. Here’s a Texas man tried in Colorado for murder twice, both times resulted in hung jury. Prosecution opted out of a third trial.

That’s like comparing apples and oranges though. There wasn’t even clear proof that a murder had even occurred in that case. I can think of a couple other cases, with similar elements and multiple trials. The Calvin Harris case also comes to mind. This is pretty cut and dry, the ridiculous lie about Shanann being responsible, aside.

In the broad scheme of things, tanks were better than burning the bodies. If he'd burned them, there'd be little physical evidence-if any- left on them. So there's that at least.

And I believe that’s what the gas can in the truck was for-gas explosion of the tanks.
But having to bury his wife nixed that plan.

Depends on who you’re trying to convince. I thought this trial was cut and dried despite his ridiculous story. It only takes 1 unfortunately.

I'm wondering if they really didn't know the gender yet, but had names picked out. Perhaps the autopsy showed the gender so the family knows they lost a boy, Nico.

?? IDK
