Is it just me or does anyone else think it is odd that those who wear the "patches" are displaying them on their bodies as though they are a badge and they like having attention drawn to them with these patch displays. Why else would they be so colorful and placed on their body where it is unavoidable to not see them.

It's all part of marketing. If somebody that's not familiar with the product sees them, it's a great conversation starter when somebody says " what is that? "

I don't knowm I have seen some pretty messed up horror movies. THE STEPFATHER, for instance, is based on John List who murdered his whole family.

Who are the Scavolis? I tried Googling, but I can't come up with anything.

Okay, so I watched the videos and I am just not seeing what many of you seem to see. I see kids being kids and squealing with enjoyment and parents being good-naturedly ribbed. I don't see CW acting like he he is being pushed around; to me he looks happy. I definitely don't see a child "cornered" on the deck-I see one laughing and enjoying herself and acting in the same manner in which my own do.

We can continue to pick apart these home videos, these tiny slices of a person's life, but no real conclusions can be drawn because not only are they completely out of context (not to mention the fact that no matter how long we stare at her SM page, we still don't actually know this person) but they are completely subjective. We bring our own backgrounds to them.

It’s hard because what’s ‘normal’ for one family isn’t ‘normal’ for another family. However, a pregnant wife, 2 kids murdered and a father in jail isn’t ‘normal’. So, we analyze everything in detail to see what lead to this nightmare. Sadly, I’m not sure we’re going to figure it out.

There's discussing dynamics, and then there's pulling random stuff out of your (all-encompassing, not you specifically) a**. Seeing humiliation in those videos is about as evidence-based as saying they were illicit drug users. There's no evidence for the claim. If he was scowling, or straight-faced, or not going along with it, ok. But he is laughing and smiling and fully-participating.

It just seems to me that some people are just not okay with the dynamic that the woman is the dominant one of the relationship (or that it has to be a "problematic" dynamic if she is).

Did I miss something? I haven't seen anything implying anyone involved was an illicit drug user. I saw cannaibis mentioned as SW possibly using it for Lupus, but it's completely legal in CO, so what illicit drugs and where was this speculated?

We don't need to apologize or silenced for doing what we gathered here to do (as long as we stay within TOS), and we shouldn't have the expectation that everyone will share the same opinions and ideas. We don't need to be offended or off-put if people have different reactions. That's my opinion of course. There have been times on the thread when I needed to step away because I was annoyed....it happens.

If I ran across the videos without knowing anything about the crime, I wouldn't watch past the first 5 seconds. They are boring and unpleasant to me. I am not at all charmed by them (though I'm impressed with her housekeeping....immaculate!).

But since I do know about the crimes CW committed, I am very interested in the videos and have opinions about them. Go figure.

I don't read a whole lot into the videos. I don't really see anything disturbing, even with CW, other than being constantly filmed, especially the Christmas video. Some people just can't put down their phones or cameras down. I find it annoying but I don't think it really tells me what kind of person they are or how they treat people. I know several people who live on their phones (annoying) however they all have different personalities and dispositions. I don't feel comfortable concluding SW or even CW's true personalities from them, but that's really all we have to go on I guess. For now.

Speaking of the Christmas video, the saddest part was when SW was holding the little one and she heard a door shut and her eyes got big with excitement and she said "Daddy's home!" Bless her heart.

Actually I was looking at PommyMommy’s fantastic FA spreadsheet (I think it was by Pommy..) and iirc I noticed there were incident(s) where they did kill the dog.

Conversely, I’ve seen on Forensic Files , etc where the killer took the care to put the dog in another room.

If there is one thing to be grateful for in this whole situation is that he did not kill the dog. And that Dieter seems to be doing well per latest msm.

Pommy can you please bump your list again? I do find the case comparisons/data interesting/valuable.

ETA: Earlier I had mentioned that from initial research it seemed stabbing and shooting were most common for FAs (articles upstream)...iirc on PM’s list there were a couple other strangulation cases.

We still do not know COD for sure.

Phillip Austin was the one who killed the two family poodles. Shooting is the most common method used - just looking at these 14 cases, but not by a lot. Strangulation is the second most common. And, bear in mind that these are just FA's who didn't commit suicide, with the exception of Chuck Stewart. He is included because his suicide didn't take place at the time he murdered his family, but months later when he was caught.

Nick and Amanda Thayer were concerned that Dieter was in the yard and asked LE if they could care for him until the family were contacted.

Shanann’s mother rang Nick to make sure they had Dieter and she wanted their word that they would take good care of him because Dieter is the last thing they have and they wanted to take him home. Nick and Amanda cared for him and treated him as part of their family until he went to live with Shanann’s brother, Frankie.

Frankie said, “He gets a little nervous here and there because he’s not used to … my chihuahua and her attitude lol. He’s starting to figure out she’s all bark and no bite. Lol. I even caught them playing together last night and she usually doesn’t like ‘new’ people or pets, hell, anyone but me. Haha”.

When all is said & done, the videos show people who seemingly loved & adored their littles. Everyone parents differently. That being said I would have never guessed in a million years that either of them would have murdered those precious babies. They BOTH looked like loving parents. But SW & the girls ended up dead & their bodies, especially the girls, disposed of in a most disturbing manner. Imo that fact is what keeps me from believing SW killed those girls.

What I noted is that when she walked into the garage and referred to " this is what's it's like being a single parent", is that the alarm system said " interior garage door open".

Remember that case in Bonita Springs Florida, I can't remember the name of the woman, but they found out much information due to when the garage door was open. They did this through the alarm system and having the alarm company pull the information off of it.

It will be very interesting if this happens in this case as to when the garage door was open and closed and how long it was open. I'm referring to the garage door to the house.

If he was merely moving the tools from his garage out to his truck, the garage door to the house wouldn't be open for that long. But if he was moving three bodies out, the garage door would be left open longer to the house

After reading how swiftly and viciously the tide turned on the thread after the videos were posted, I was honestly dreading watching them. I got the implication from the posts that SW would appear like a controlling monster who was cruel to her children and husband and gleefully humiliated them, etc. etc.

Wow.

In the checkers video I saw normal ribbing. My husband and I joke around a lot and are ultra-competitive in silly games like this. CW was laughing and joking around about it. He could have left. There's actually a second checkers video posted on FB too. He didn't have to agree to go live and play a 2nd game, either, if he was upset like people claim, with seething anger and whatever all.

The squirting water video? Bella was laughing the whole time and kept coming back to open her mouth, lift her shirt, etc. She wasn't crying, wasn't saying stop it, wasn't trying to get in frantically. She was spraying the window too. Even the "daddy save me" was with giggles. I guess I must be cruel and evil too because I saw normal horseplay.

The pie face... again, my husband would want to be the one in the pie in the face spot and in front of the camera when I wouldn't. Just to be silly. Do we know "poor" CW didn't want to be there? Did SW force him into a place of humiliation and degradation by playing a game and letting his toddlers smash whip cream in his face? For heaven's sake. The only thing that I disagreed with was that it went on too long at the end when Bella didn't want to get messy then was crying & didn't want to say goodbye. They're kids. She was probably over it as soon as she ran away to play with something else.

We know that social media and marketing a lifestyle is a big part of any MLM. We know SW was a Thriver who took a lot of videos and was always "on".

I cannot for the life of me see what everyone seems to be seeing about how terrible she was and how bad she was to her children and how poor Chris was dominated to where he eventually had to take out his big bad controlling wife while watching her murder his children. What?!

He's a grown man who had 2 kids, 1 on the way and was perfectly capable of saying no. This has shades of the traditional BS in-laws mentality of "the evil wife and my poor baby boy".

I'm gonna need a cleansing and a step back after this one because some of the posts feel very close to victim blaming and shaming. I mean... all the way up to, she deliberately targeted the child who looked the most like CW with a squirt gun because of some secret resentment? Seriously, what?!?!?!

I was thinking about this case quite a bit. Apparently and according to Shannan, she met Chris when she was very sick with lupus. She said that he accepted her with her illness and she was grateful and she said she allowed him to get close to her. As the years progressed Shannan got stronger and healthier and it seems to me she had a strong personality. she was a go- getter. Ashley Banfield showed a house Shannan had
built when she was 25 years old. it was a magnificent home; her taste in furniture was impeccable. So I was thinking that as she became stronger and healthier, the nature of their relationship changed; she may have been no longer meek and quite as grateful. Maybe she spoke up more and more of her strong personality came through. Perhaps he liked her a lot better when she was sick and he was more in control.

Who knows what motivates someone to horrifically murder their wife and innocent children. All we can do is speculate why such a monstrous thing could happen.
