@Trinket78 I’m curious what his close friends and family think of how he handled everything after their deaths, including how he hide the girls in oil tanks and buried Shanann? If this happened to a close family member or friend I don’t know how I’d feel so I can understand and respect your support of Chris. However, I’m curious what you think of his actions afterward and reasoning why so much coverup and lies if Shanann really was one who killed kids? TIA

How long did it take Amber Frey to come forward in the Scott Peterson case? she was an innocent victim and was led to believe the whole time he was single so this could be different circumstances. I hope eventually the AP comes forward to shed light on him but then again we really don’t know if she had any involvement or not. JMO

Casey Anthony’s chair at the defense table was lowered so she could look smaller/petite.

Crayons/highlighters are given because a pen or pencil can be used to harm self or others.

and I recalled a case where the accused party family was instructed to buy clothes 2 sizes bigger so he looks less bulky/strong.

I had not seen the entire CW court appearance until yesterday so I believed it was TRUE he showed NO emotion at all..That IS what I saw when he walked to & from the courtroom & in the few short clips of him sitting there during the hearing..That IS how it was reported on the news & in almost all posts I had read..But now I know that's not TRUE because when the judge began to read the charges (starting with the death of Shanann) he immediately began to breath heavy & took in a deep breath..When the first charge was read regarding tampering with a deceased body he squeezed his eyes closed & slightly shook his head..So, what to make of it? Is this CW realizing his horrific actions, maybe even regretting them, or can it just be an involuntary physical reaction that he wasn't even aware he was doing? Unfortunately, none of us know the answer.

Begins at 2:40

I was watching the video for his facial expressions.
Then the camera panned to SW's father and brother, omg, the pain, my heart aches for them.

Thanks. So is it assumed that he committed the murder and dumping of the bodies between 2:00- 5:00 am? It would seem he steered himself in a corner by saying he saw her in the act of strangling the child yet did nothing to intervene. He would have known that death does not occur quickly in this manner, one would think, and the first reaction would be to try to revive the child. Does anyone know if, after strangulation, the body would really be blue? I think I saw it discussed somewhere but don't remember what the answer was.
It depends on whether you think the children were killed first and who killed them. The way it is charged, they were murdered some time between Aug 12-13. SW's murder is charged for Aug 13. He was caught on camera leaving the house some time after 5am Aug 13. The surgeon posting last night said they thought it was unlikely the child's body would be blue to the point it was visible on camera. Will find link.

@MsBetsy Edited to add link from @Clement86 re blue colouring of skin:

Thank you for posting that. I had not watched it. I am surprised they didn't have him stand for the reading of the charges. I thought he did exhibit some emotion, although it was subdued, and he certainly looked to take the proceeding seriously. Some defendants can't suppress goofy grins when they are the subject of so much attention, but he didn't. I think he followed the instructions of his attorney marvelously.

What horrible camera work though, am I right?

Yes, I've seen the mowing pic but still unconvinced. My husband is about as bulked up as Chris (taller though) and he does it just from working out, he doesn't even eat that well and definitely drinks.

That takes working out on a regular basis & I don't see Shannon going along with him spending too much time at the gym or too much time doing it at home either.

Perhaps he was under the impression she was taking birth control but with her Lupus she thought she could never have kids in the first place.
Before she ever got pregnant she may have been told that Lupus could impact fertility, but she did not have any evident fertility problems, she had two kids in 18 months and planned this pregnancy successfully.

Trying not to be the one who looks at everything sarcastically, but ppl in these situations get tips from their lawyers on how to react. At least they do in Grisham novels.

Yes, that is true. Any good lawyer will prepare the client for what is about to happen, and will advise them how to act or react.

I respect your opinion. Honestly I can’t elaborte more on my relationship. I can say I’ve never questioned steroid use.
Never questioned his use of, or that he did not use steroids? If the latter no need to reply. Thanks.

IIRC, AF called LE immediately after she found out SP was married and Laci was missing.

On the AP in this case, LE has talked to this person. It is very likely we won't be hearing anything on this until trial.

JMO.

Days after letting police inside his home so they could help find his missing family, he told investigators “he would tell the truth.” He first asked to speak with his father then admitted to killing Shannan. He told police that he killed her after witnessing her strangling one of the girls on a baby monitor and that other child had already been killed by Shanann.

Inside the confession of Christopher Watts

And this is the main reason why I don't buy his version of events. I don't believe that he would have been able to see his daughter's coloring through the baby monitor, I can't buy that she had time to strangle 2 children to death in the few minutes that he claimed to be downstairs, and it makes no sense to me that his instinct was to attack and kill HER rather than attempting to save his second child who may very well have been still alive. (I say this coming from a place of personal experience.) And to top it all off, I couldn't see him wearing a gift that his wife bought him-the very wife who supposedly killed his kids the day before.

I have no idea if I would have been friends with or even if I would've liked SW. Maybe not. However, what we infer about her actions all comes from speculation: Maybe she was angry that he wanted a divorce, maybe she knew about his affairs, maybe she was trying to get back at him, maybe she had some mental health issues, maybe...Compared to what we actually KNOW about him: He lied about not knowing where they were, he hid their bodies, he threw away the pillow case, in his interviews he wore a shirt she bought him, prosecution had probable cause to request DNA and photos and handprints, he depersonalized the girls when he spoke of them...

It's not even close for me.

In the article I read it clearly states he admitted to killing all three. I was just wondering at what point he changed his story.
I'm confused about it. I was going off the local news where the reporter said he was told by SW family members that he killed them, so there could be a telephone line game effect. That and a VI pointed out he never confessed to killing the girls. Then there is the redacted affidavit. I thought I had a decent grip on the facts, I do not. Can anyone clear some of this up?

We're assuming he knew there was no birth control being used. I mean, clearly she wanted to get pregnant, but there's a chance they'd "agreed" to not and to use the ring or pill or whatever.

I'm wondering if our insider knows if in-vitro was used or considered with any of the pregnancies? Might Chris's semen be frozen somewhere?

And there is just as much of a chance that he also really wanted to have another baby and that the video of him receiving the news was just showing him awkward in front of the camera.

The video could have been staged, too, and that they had already spoken of it. A re-creation as they say.

True. Still imo not a roid rage thing because even if it was you would think once it was over he would've freaked out and had a breakdown rather than trying to cover it all up or killed himself

I'm not sold on the idea, either. Just pointing out that not everyone on steroids gets facial acne.

I don't even think she confronted. Because the house was perfectly calm. I think she never saw it coming.
Oh, yeah. I do remember it said that there was no unusual noise coming from the house. Except the dog, or something. I'm thinking all victims may have been killed while asleep in their beds. At least initially sleeping. I have no doubt the severe pain and agony of being strangled would have woken them and ensured they all died a horrible death. Jmo.

I wonder if CW is all scratched up on his back and chest under that tee shirt. You would think there would be scratches on his arms too but since he was wearing short sleeves in the interview probably not. If no scratches anywhere on his person I would think everyone was caught off guard.
