Yes. In the heat of passion, people do kill their spouses. And you’re right, killing the kids after this, is on a whole different level.

That’s precisely why him “snapping,” doesn’t work for me.
I know I've said this before, but in my opinion, stabbing repeatedly or shooting someone is more indicative of an uncontrollable, sudden rage. Strangulation gives one the ultimate feeling of power and control. If it takes 4- 5 minutes for a person to become brain dead from strangulation, and if he killed all three, that's almost 15 minutes of a deliberate act. To me it points to a conscious, controlled act, although I do believe there must have been intense anger and resentment behind it. Jmo

I understand good-natured bickering or teasing between spouses.

But please show me where the comments went both ways between SW and CW. It was not equal by any means. He was always on the receiving end, always the butt of the jokes. Shanann never was.
Who knows what he posted on his fb though? We can only see her side as she has her profile active while he doesn’t.

Carrying over a question from last night before the thread closed, a poster had asked why the defense would be objecting to the hand print measurement, finger prints and cheek swab, the answer is that it may be evidence the prosecution can use against CW, to see if the prints match to marks on the necks of the children. It would make sense for them to prevent the order or at least delay it, such as in the case of The Golden State Killer. The request of pictures of his, well... private parts was delayed for ages because the defense knows that this is incriminating evidence. I'm not even sure if they got it yet, it's been over a month since I kept up with that case. But that would be the only reasonable explanation I can think of. Maybe one of our lawyers could chime in, we haven't heard from them in a while! Jmo

When one side (in this case, the prosecution) files a motion, the other side (in this case, the defence) files a response, either agreeing or disagreeing. The judge then makes a decision. I think from memory (i'll check in a sec), the judge has ordered that responses need to be filed within 7 calendar days. My personal opinion is that the defence will agree.

Its a move people can make to prevent forecosure of the property. I would have done it myself if a family member had offered. But I still got lucky. My home went into foreclosure right after the housing market crashed, and there were 17 million other people in the same situation. It took three years. I didn't have to pay the mortgage during that time. I filed chapter 13 the night before the bank was going to seize everything I owned. So I was able to save my house, but had three years to pay the bank after that. I think a lot depends on the situation. The only documentation required for the bankrupcy in terms of whose name is on the title is the title itself. If there is a lawyer here I'm sure they can supply you with all the details. It can get pretty confusing. Jmo
I can imagine! I am so very thankful that I have never had to experience that and I’m sorry you had to go through it, too. I’m sure it was a stressful time in your life!

Can he not stand up / speak up for himself?
He must have a low self-esteem thus he never stood up for himself.

Good point. In SW's facebook posts, she was doing all of the housework. She did post pictures of CW mowing - a very small yard!
well she wasn't. CW helped out a lot. Also, SW described herself as a SAHM, so I would imagine she would do most of the housework anyway whilst CW was at work.

Practical question - to get the kids, did they have to pump out the oil? If so - people should be livid with him! It is bad enough to open a grave, but getting bodies out of the oil!

They probably will hold the process in another county.

I asked Mr. Marli this question. Here is what he said:

Yes. The oil had to be sucked out with a vac truck from a line near the bottom of the tank. Then the man way (door near the bottom) would be opened & someone (most likely suited up & also wearing a respirator since it's a confined space area with possible toxic gases) would enter & remove the bodies.

What I find rather surprising is in thread opinion is when verbal abuse of C.W. is discussed not only collaborated by her videos but a VI that has known them both many years it seems SW is validated . “ he had a mouth he could leave” “ it’s good natured ribbing “. But then saying she was a victim of DV with zero proof, zero witnesses and completely sympathizing again with her . I know many of you are married . But being in an abusive relationship is 180 degrees different . You become isolated , insecure , so worried about doing everything right it is overwhelming . You start believing you are a loser. You aren’t worthy .
There is proof from SW stating he was the calm one . She had confidence , wore the “pants” in the family and controlled everything. She traveled at will leaving kids with Chris or family if they both went and had daycare. I had to take a breath away from the thread bc I felt a lot of my feelings of insecurities from my ex coming back trying to express my opinion on here . I felt no one would believe me bc I had covered for him so long . Everyone loved him. He could go from full scream at me to polite conversation with someone on a phone , hang up immediately start screaming again.
It’s ironic to me bc we are Victim blaming him about the verbal abuse as we are saying we can’t victim blame her as a reason to look at the evidence she verbally abused him.
I am not saying bc she verbally abused him she deserved to die . I am saying I want both sides known to get a clear version of the truth .
Well said Skekkiec ~ I find it fascinating and confusing all at the same time, that there are three VI's in this case who knew CW and SW personally and one of the three VI's has polar opposite opinions of the other two VI's. To be clear, I am not questioning the validity of any of the VI's. Just find it an interesting dichotomy of facts and interpretations.

And that suited-up guy may be affected for the rest of his life for what he was tasked with, thanks to CW's desecration of their tiny bodies.

Maybe one VI knew both people much better in a “behind the scenes” way than the others who were friends for a shorter time period or in a professional situation where you wouldn’t necessarily know what was really going on. JMO

The issue isn't SW's comments toward CW... the issue is how CW felt about them, and how those feelings played into his actions.

Until we hear statements he made to others about how he felt, or read text messages or journal entries by CW, we aren't going to know.
Agreed, Junkasaurus, everyone's threshold for managing their emotions is unique to each person. We don't know what CW's threshold was and whether he reached his maximum level that morning.

DIGGING GRAVES IS HARDER THAN YOU WOULD THINK

My wife's dog died last night, and she and I had to dig a grave to bury it this morning. We live in Colorado. Our yard is sandy and rocky and dry, with natural grasses, yucca plants, and cactus, probably very much like the terrain where CW buried SW "in a shallow grave."

It took my wife and I an hour-and-a-half to dig a hole that was about 3 feet long by 2.5 feet wide by 2 feet deep with a pick axe and a shovel. We would have preferred for it to be deeper, but it would have taken an hour to get another 6 inches deep, the ground was so hard. Then when we got the dog in there, it took longer than you'd think to fill the hole back up with dirt.

This leads me to believe that if CW intended to bury all three bodies, he soon found that it would be an impossible task and would have taken all day, despite the fact that he is fairly young and in better shape than me.

Putting the girls in the oil tanks may have been out of necessity, especially if he was trying to dig graves when his Ring doorbell notification alerted him that NU had arrived at the home. He may have intended to come back later, with the CW's purse, cell phone, and belongings to finish the burying.

Edited for typo and clarification.
I am so sorry for your loss, big hug for you and your wife.

@Colorado303 do you know when SW and C.W. met if they lived in the same town or not and what attracted her to him?

Is there a way to go to this video? It always just takes me to her profile

Oh, I'm so sorry. I was on the video itself and copied the URL in the browser. Hmm. I will try to find it. It took forever as FB isn't loading all vids at once. I had to scroll, wait for it to load more, scroll again, and so on. Will see if it's in my history for you!

Please. There is no evidence that CW was "abused".

I’m just asking you to reverse the roles in your mind. There’s no evidence SW was abused, either. She was murdered by her husband, absolutely. But if there’s evidence of prior abuse, I am unaware.

Yes, I haven't seen Trinket here lately and I had a question but didn't want to ask if she already answered it. I'm not sure if there is any way around it than to search the thread for it.
I just click on their user name on the left and you can see all their responses :)
