Yes and to suggest that someone would laugh after they know that their children are dead is way outside the realms of possibility to me. And if you laugh inappropriately when you should be grieving, you should seek help.
It is socially inappropriate.
It's not even his nervousness or mannerisms that are so telling. His use of language reveals a great deal. All through the interview he constantly refers to his family as she, they, her, nobody. At one point he says, " and nothing, it's vanished, nothing was here, I mean," he is distancing himself from his family and referring to them almost like they are objects. The reporter catches this and asked their names. Only at that point does he use them. Murderers tend to dehumanize their victims not to face up to the guilt. He seems to do this all through the interview. He is using distancing language not expected from a grieving father and husband. He says nobody was here, the kids weren't here, she wasn't here. Her people, she, never her name until he is asked. After he says they had an emotional conversation he quickly adds, " I'll leave it at that," closing off the discussion. Jmo

Really? Just because he dumped his little girls in crude oil and buried his pregnant wife in a shallow grave does not mean that he killed them?

  • #1,603
Yes, I would hope so. But he doesn't appear to be grieving on Tuesday, the day after the tragic deaths. That is what confuses many of us about his claims.
I understand and I'm not here to try and convince you that his actions after were, in any way, excusable.

CW can say the children were dead already, no amount of effort could save them.
I’ve witnessed a situation when a child died, and when the doctor came out to tell the mother, the mother begged the doctor to go back in there and keep trying to save her. Any parent who loves their child, who isn’t a doctor themselves, would try to get help, they would do anything to save their child.

It was I who said I was concerned about SW's loved ones seeing my speculations, so by your comment do you believe I have ripped SW to shreds?

It was NOT directed at you - sorry! There were previously pages and pages of attacks on SW’s character that many participated in, didn’t object to, or “liked” posts of others doing it.

So it was meant as a general post, as in “it’s a bit late to protect them now”. This comes from a place where the attacks upset me greatly and I pleaded to peoples empathy to at least wait till we know something before attacking what is a high chance of being a completely innocent victim of a homicide. Those words will sadly still be there if that’s proven to be the case.

Oh, you are right. Went to look... But it looks like it is her friend, she just happens to have a business. From Colorado and look at the posts about Shanann, family approved fundraisers, etc.
Don't think I'm allowed to post stuff from there??
No, you can't. It doesn't really have any relation to the case anyway. :)

No that's ok, I just wanted to check!

Oops did I make a grammatical error?
No,I thought maybe you thought the poster was talking about something he had already done, but it doesn't matter because I think you discussed it already. I'm falling behind. Oh well.

But you are excusing them, all the way.

Why is this thread becoming an assault of family members ? I have seen zero indication ads or otherwise to even suggest anything you are saying.

Why has this thread become an assault on a pregnant woman who has been murdered by her husband who has confessed to this. I have seen zero indications on SM or elsewhere to suggest she has done anything wrong.

I am trying to figure out why it bothers me so much that people believe CW's story, because it really is none of my business what other's believe. I get that. [thank you for the reminder, Silly Billy...]

But I guess it is because many of us are still battle scarred from some cases where GUILTY killers walked away free, and so we feel worried that we will see that happen again here...Not your fault or your problem. It is nice of you to try and answer as well as you can...Thank You...

Your right, thank you. Lovely sentiments for her on there, is what I was trying to say.
So sad for so many that loved her.

A source at the Weld County Jail confirmed to HLN’s Crime & Justice with Ashleigh Banfield that the 33-year-old murder defendant is under “Close Watch Protocol” — a technical name for suicide watch. PEOPLE has independently confirmed the report.

Under Close Watch Protocol, Watts spends 23 hours a day in his jail cell, where he sits in protective custody. He does not have a cellmate.

Guards must check on Watts every 10-15 minutes to ensure his well-being and must make visual contact with him. Additionally, Watts is not allowed the same privileges as other people at the jail, including no access to weights, reading material and television.

Ironically, the protocol for ensuring a prisoner does not commit suicide is the very thing that may cause him to be suicidal.

What type of reporter would ask about a shirt during a interview of someone's missing family?

I wonder if they gave him the look as well once he blushed.
The kind that wants to see his reaction. Jmo

Ok so I do have a question that maybe some will be able to answer. There have been a lot of stories told of grieving mothers, but do fathers outwardly display the same emotions as the mother, in general, as a rule?

Not a trick but a genuine question.

Thank you and I totally understand where you're coming from. Some of the abuse cases I've seen where the parents have gotten off so lightly, just sickens me.

CW can say the children were dead already, no amount of effort could save them.
And how did he know they were dead? Did he check their pulse, rescue breathing, CPR? Put his head on their chest to check for a heart beat? It might not look good if he didn't mention this to investigators but added it later. Jmo

On the whole, I think that men may show less emotion. What we never see, is no emotion. Especially when one's family has been killed.

This guy didn’t appear shocked.

He didn’t appear sad.

He looked as if he’d just spent 2 hours in front of a mirror.

He probably did check their pulse, just to verify that they were dead. Because he killed them all.

They think that there is mounting evidence that SW was harming her children because, in their opinion, she took them to the doctors too often.
He dumped his babies in crude oil, but she took them to the doctors too often.
Which choice here means someone loved and cared about their children?

If anyone doubts that Internet is cruel, this case alone should convince them.
