I agree. I honestly believe he thought he could come off as the poor husband whose wife took off and left him, taking their kids; or that it would appear that they’d been abducted, idk. But I really think he thought they wouldn’t be found, and that what little attention he thought it would get would die down after a time and he’d just go on with life. I believe he just assumed if he went to work like normal, he’d be taken at face value about claiming not to know what happened.

It’s pretty ironic that someone who’s apparently so fixated with how he’s being seen by others, completely lacks the self awareness to understand how his actions and reactions would look to others.
In this day and age its highly unlikely that anyone can get off by pretending their wife ran off and took the kids. Shows that CW is sly, greedy and cunning but not intelligent or a good planner/strategist. There is such a thing as "emotional intelligence" and I believe that CW's was below room temperature. CW forgot the maxim: When you ASSUME you make an @$$ out of U and ME. Adding a MOO.

Yes, if those stories were true, I'm sure there would be a lot of speculation that sex was involved in this crime. Not sure I know what to believe. Jmo
SW had a scar on her neck, my first thought was that it was from a wire or rope, some guys are into that "40 Shades of Gray" fantasy. SW would have gone along to please him.

It may have just had one national report when he was charged and stayed local, but the diabolical way that he disposed of the girls' bodies and his smug, grinning interviews have made it international news.

Sitting on death row may seem like forever. Which reminds me, what would have to make this crime, or him, eligible for the death penalty?
Certain aggravating factors make a crime eligible for the death penalty in Colorado. The children being under the age of 12, is one of them.

I'm not sure about all that. Since she was the dominant one in the relationship, I just don't see it.

It's so hard for me to believe CW's story of what happened that horrible night. Especially in light of his attempts to cover up what he had done. And the lies !

What kind of person is capable of not only going to work the same morning he murdered his family, but even after putting their dead bodies in the truck, driving to the site, and disposing of them, he was also capable of taking himself to work, being interviewed 3 times by tv stations and speaking with LE. Did he speak with family, too? Lies lies and more lies.

Who can trust or believe anything he says after all the lies? Why would he cover up what he says Shannan did? Seems he would be all up into showing & telling LE & his family what Shannan did.
He would cuddle and hold those little bodies. He would grieve. Not drive to a job site and dump them like embarrassing trash. Who does these things to people they Love? Little babies?

And why would his defense team want to keep his visitors private?

CWs heart and soul is entirely void. Black and empty. The air he breathes was stolen from those who loved and needed him. They depended on and trusted him. How could He?

Hazelnutty. I love your last paragraph.
As you state, "They depended on and trusted him, How could he?"
Hope he pays, for the rest of his days.

So sad SW’s family is in CO and moving stuff from her house today with a moving truck. I really couldn’t imagine having to go through their belongings, especially seeing all the grandkids toys, clothes

That scar was from a surgery. I don't believe SW would ever go along with something uncomfortable like S&M play, she had high self-esteem and would likely have said NO! SW was the girl with the curl, all champagne and bubbles. He resented it and snuffed out her life alongside his unborn son and toddlers. MOO.

Absolutely right. He doesn’t seem to have the emotional intelligence to understand why people see him as some kind of monster.

She apparently had a spinal disc fusion a year ago, according to her posts. But I, too, wondered, esp given the other rumor about him liking to choke a supposed mistress. Look up auto erotic asphyxiation. Seems to be a self induced thing but can also be applied to a partner. Ugh.

Then I'd say his future looks pretty bleak.

I thought the same.
There was nothing that 'I did wrong', but wondered why!o_Oo_Oo_O

in this case the DA may use it as a bargaining chip. Tell us the truth and we'll take the DP off the table.

The scar was from surgery. Also, there is a big difference between true BDSM fantasies (such as the Gray book) and actually getting hurt or hurting someone. Choking is not usually a part of BDSM. That is a whole other ballgame.

I’m sure that’s the goal. Whether it will work, is another matter.

I hope this is allowed to be discussed (it really bothers me somehow):
Have you guys seen those youtube videos uploaded by a certain user? All with headings like:
“He’s going to kill me,” Shanann Watts hashtagged a video about Chris Watts on August 27, 2016
or
Shanann Watts: Let me go strangle the dog before he wakes up my kids and I strangle him
I find that kind of creepy... why does this person put so much effort in this? This entire channel contains just SWs videos.

They have an agenda.

But he's lied so much how could anyone believe him even if he did tell the truth?

  • #278
Says it all, doesn't it? He takes the life of 4 people and his only concern is still "poor me". What a sniveling little ***.

Yes, it is like if you have ever uttered the word strangle in your life you are capable of strangling someone.

I think I read that the scar was from a surgery.
