Thank you. I was actually talking about the graphic details of how the little girls may have been forced into the tanks.
I guess I don't know what it is that you consider "graphic" then. I'll add the AB episode in case that's what you're referring to.

Although that was refuted on many occasions, so those who knew SW can obviously disregard and take to heart the many positive comments in response to the accusations.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the gruesome details of the girls disposal, which many believe to be fact and quite possibly could turn out to be so. MOO of course.
If he had to further damage one or both of his children’s bodies before dumping them in the tanks, it is more gruesome.

But dumping them in oil in the first place, is disgusting enough.

Agreed.

I am not an attorney, but based on our trial lawyer @Amandaaa ’s posts, it is my understanding that the prosecution has filed a motion to keep the autopsy reports sealed.

In order to seal them, there has to be a hearing on it. The prosecution has the burden to prove an “extraordinary situation and that the information would do substantial injury to the public.”
( Some found it odd they’d assume this having not seen the autopsy reports yet).

In CO “all public records shall be open for inspection by any person at reasonable times.” However, the prosecution filed the motion based on public interest. IMO it seems contradictory. The burden to prove this is on the prosecution. They are the ones that filed this motion.
MOO
The prosecution filed the motion to withhold the public documents early "in an abundance of caution," Rourke said.
Autopsy reports in Watts case not available, prosecution says

I don't know who you mean by "some" but I'm certainly not one of them. Do you think the prosecutor is lying or playing games or something? I take him at his word.

So speculation of time of death would be? After SW came home
@gitana1 agrees if C.W. was family annihilator he would likely to take out SW first.
If SW could have strangled the children obviously it would agree with the same timeline

At the present time, we have no way of knowing if SW was even home when the killings began. We have a timeline that includes August 12-13 for the little girls, and we have the self-serving statement of a proven liar and admitted murderer.

Research on past family annihilator cases shows the killer typically is a man who kills his spouse first, and after that children and sometimes other family members are killed. The majority of family annihilators also commit suicide.

CW did not commit suicide, so we know in that respect he falls outside the "norm" for a family annihilator. He may fall outside the norm in terms of sequence of who was murdered first as well. Instead of killing himself, he removed the bodies of his dead family from the home, where they had been murdered, and drove them to a distant and remote location. He then went to incredible and gruesome extremes to hide the bodies of his little girls and he dug a grave to hide his pregnant wife's body.

He then lied to NUA, LE and he lied in all of his media interviews. Why would anyone do all of these things if it all really happened because SW killed the little girls and he then killed SW/Nico in a rage?

How do his actions, after the murders, make any sense at all if he now telling the truth? They don't make sense and that is because he is still lying, JMO.

All JMO.

It does but maybe we can't believe that. Maybe the attorneys are lying. We can't believe what any of the experts say about this case or CW either. Their years of education and experience (not speaking of AB) mean nothing. They are probably all lying too but we can believe a dude who stands on his front porch when his family is "missing" and lies and lies and lies.
Yeah. In a high-profile murder case. NOT, lol.

I think you may have misunderstood my response to the original question, but unfortunately I haven't got time right now to retrieve it. Thanks though.

MOD NOTE

Hi everyone, I see that some quotes have broken again. If someone would kindly alert on each post where the quote is broken, I will do my best to fix them. In the meantime, please do not reply with quote to any of those posts. It just makes the cleanup harder.

Also, the snark has to stop. It's a TOS violation and it's not helpful. I know that it can be hard to hold back sometimes, but posting on Websleuths is often an exercise in self-restraint. Please just alert if you are offended by a post or if a post violates TOS.

Finally, I really hope that what I'm reading in this thread that someone on this forum either stated or strongly implied that Shan'ann somehow impregnated herself with her husband's stolen sperm did not actually originate on Websleuths. That theory is so far beyond the realm of reality that I can only hope that you are all joking and using hyperbole.

If that preposterous theory did originate on Websleuths, PLEASE alert on the post(s) where it started so the moderators can handle the situation. In case I'm not being clear, that's not a theory that we will allow any discussion of, period.

Thank you!

That’s precisely the point. To believe a guy who tells lie after lie is unwise. To believe a guy who committed a coverup like this, is bordering on insanity.

Not odd. The State has a duty to protect the defendant’s constitutional rights.

Not to mention judging a murder victim's character and trying to diagnose her with psychological issues based off of facebook videos.

It certainly boggles my mind and as far as I know, I'm not insane. I did go to a counselor one time, when I was going through a divorce, and after the visit, she told me I didn't need to come back - lol.

Remember it’s the Prosecution that wants it sealed.
MOO
Exactly, and I'm sure they don't want to risk poisoning the jury pool, or any risk of there not being a fair trial. I also would think they would want it to remain where it is. Jmo

You think the prosecution filed this motion to protect Chris Watts?

They are upheld to protect people's rights and maintain a fair trial, so yes, they could be trying to protect that and him.

You bring up a good point actually. Our discussions have been somewhat limited in our speculations of SW possibly killing the girls, out of respect to the family and others who may take offense.

I hadn't actually considered how offensive it could possibly be, to family and others, going into graphic details of how the girls may have been disposed.
And especially all the speculation and negative, hateful things about the victim that people will see for many years. Unfortunately they have to deal with that as well as the horrifying details that may come out during the trial. Jmo

I don't think anyone is trying to debate your view of AB, @Shekkiec. I'm certainly not.
There have been many posts about the information and expert opinions on her program. This is why many have conducted additional research (and experiments) to test the theories presented.
AB is a professional journalist, with many accolades. Journalists try to present information regarding cases to the public. Sometimes it is sensational. And sometimes it is horrific. Despite the fact we may not always like her style, it is important to note that she is certainly dedicated to dig deep into understanding the who, what, when, why, and how of the case. And present the information (daily) to the public. Even if we don't like the way she does it.

BBM

I watch AB because she's the only one providing case updates daily and I appreciate her coverage. But disagree that she's "digging deep". There have been several things she's speculated on that have been wrong and she could have gotten right if she tried harder. Examples:

1) She had a whole show on how the number of videos SW posted had gone down in the months before her death. Discussion centered around what the decline meant about her mental state and status of the marriage. Fact was SW had actually posted more videos but many had been removed. (I saw at least one of them myself before it disappeared). I've been told by sources close to the case that LE removed them or asked to have them removed for sake of the investigation.

2) SW's parents were in Colorado since last Friday (they went home yesterday). AB had no idea they were in CO until the moving truck showed up in front of their house (I'm surprised but very glad she's not keeping tabs on their every move). She spent a lot of time talking about how big the moving truck was and that the truck's size indicated they were moving a lot out. In fact, they were moving out relatively little. I would have thought she'd know or at least asked questions to learn it's not unusual at all for Movers to use large trucks for small loads. Often they pick up things from several households before transporting them-- (and the people with the smaller loads may need to wait for weeks or longer to get their stuff, but I digress)

3) She reported I think on Tuesday that SW's family had "checked in" to the Carbon Valley Recreational Center in Frederick, speculating maybe they were staying there or there for a "respite visit". I suspect the reason they were there is because it was the site of SW's memorial service last Saturday. While staff may have been instructed not to talk about the service before hand (family/friends worked hard to keep it secret so it wouldn't turn into a press circus), I would think an experienced investigative reported could have sussed that info out after the fact. At the very least she could have discovered it's not a hotel and if anyone tried to stay there they probably would have be arrested.

These are just three examples--there are several more that I know of.

I'm not saying AB or her show are bogus -- there's a lot of good information there and I'm very glad she's focusing on this case. But sometimes she states things as fact that are really speculation--and in some cases I think she could have avoided a mistake if she had bothered to dig deeper.

I'm completely aware it's not just AB. I've been startled by how often press in general has reported inaccurate information on this case . It's a bit disconcerting and I'm starting to view "the news" with a grain of salt.

You think the prosecution filed this motion to protect Chris Watts?

Not to protect him but to make sure it's a fair trial. Do you think they want any reason for the defense to cry it's not a fair trial or have any reasons for appeal if they lose? You seem to think there is something in the autopsy that will point to SW. That's fine and no one knows for sure until we all see it, but just because the state wants it sealed doesn't mean it's because it will help CW. It could help him or hurt him more. IMO the state wouldn't want it out for either of those reasons.
