Not necessarily if you listen to the end imo . The video almost like all I have seen is sad. Imo. I guess that’s why I just want to know where everything changed and what happened to cause it. Even the affair. He doesn’t seem like a womanizer. Heck SW said he had no game. I just am trying to understand where it began to unravel for both of them. Was she disappointed not supported? Was it money? Did he feel not appreciated?

Defiantly a huge accomplishment going from how he looked in the video to how he looks mowing the lawn.
Wonder how he's going to be looking next time we see him in court. o_O

IMO I don't think he ever knew he had any game. He hadn't been in many if any serious relationships in the past according to a VI post. He was the quieter type. Didn't stand out. Agreeable. Then SW comes along with her beautiful outgoing smile and "bossy" sparkly personality and dazzles him.

Fast forward a ways and throw in a move, Thrive, new circles... and all of the sudden he's getting noticed. Women at work might have flirted with him or complimented him. IMO in certain environments, married men are seen as a huge challenge. He still wouldn't have had to have any game at all, and all of the sudden he's the one in the center getting the attention. Grinning with his new muscles and the clothes his wife bought him and showed him how to look good in and hang in big closets.

Oh yes. That pregnant wife at home. And the 2 very small children. Soon to be 3, with debt and a mortgage and potential child support and all of those adult baggage issues. That's big boy stuff. The affair is fun. Real life isn't fun anymore.

So they had to go. And they did. But he wasn't bright or savvy enough to figure out how to master any kind of a sensible coverup, and thankfully fate intervened with a late plane and an intuitive best friend.

All my speculation and JMO ONLY!

That would be great. Sometimes things have a way of becoming fact by mistake and I just want to make sure. It's a good timeline as long as it can be supported!

Because I was busy this afternoon, I missed the window to be able to edit my post to add links there.

I have to admit it was a bit unsettling to come back after being away several hours and see such numerous posts over the same issue. I did not think the details in my timeline were controversial, as I’ve seen them in numerous MSM articles in my study of this case.

I certainly apologize if it seemed as though I was making things up due to the absense of links in the original post.

“He was very passive,” said Greg Alore, who hired Shanann at a Ford dealership when the couple first moved to Colorado. “She was very aggressive with him. Bossy. Do this. Do that. Telling him what to do. Dominating the relationship. That I do know.”

‘Everyone Liked Him’: Did Colorado Dad Chris Watts Lead a Double Life?

Byron Falls, the man who bought Shanann's home in Belmont, west of Charlotte, said on August 16 that the Watts family had been in quite a rush to sell the home and had even left behind all the furniture as a part of the sale. The property deed transfer from August 2012 showed that Shanann had signed it while already living in Colorado. Records indicate that she bought the house in 2009.

Affidavit: Colorado man admits to killing pregnant wife but says she strangled their daughters; the couple had NC connections

Did Shanann Watts's sudden financial success drive a fatal wedge into her marriage with Chris?

The bolded portion above reminds me of what the family priest asked my mother, when she told him my father was having an affair with his secretary, and she was leaving the marriage. The priest assumed my mom was not being a good wife. If only she'd try a little harder, things would be okay.

I could be wrong here, but I get the impression that some are considering certain things as evidence, facts or victim blaming that other aren’t. IMO it’s not ignoring facts it’s just looking at things different.
jmo

Can you give an example?

I’m getting this impression from the posts I’ve read throughout all the threads.

@MerryB Thank you for the links :) I knew you were correct all along.

I agree it’s sad, and I would also like to know what changed between them as they appeared to be a happily married couple. IMO what changed was he let his mask fall off.
Quoting from previous post :
Gradual would be if you met somebody at work or a new friendship has occurred and you, as it goes on, you see that okay, maybe this relationship has more potential than the relationship I have with my partner. And that would gradually push the old relationship out and push the new relationship in."
This is typical narcissistic thinking, to me he’s basically saying it doesn’t matter how long they have been together or how the other person would feel if he “pushed the old relationship out”. He’s saying, the old relationship is no longer any use to him so he would get rid of it, like an old toy, in order to make way for a new, better toy. JMO

There was nothing controversial and nobody thought you were making anything up. At least, I didn't. What everyone failed to miss was that I asked for a link to the QUOTE in your post. No worries, MerryB. I found the article myself and it's not in quotations marks there. Problem solved.

He didn't seem like a murderer, either. IMO cheating on your pregnant wife has no excuse. Man up and tell your partner or get out (though not this way!). So I find it somewhat offensive to say he doesn't seem like a womanizer and what happened to cause it. Just IMO.

1 We have discussed the HOA lawsuit and how it is not dispositive of financial ruin...it could be a dispute. We just do not know.
2 SW did not file bankruptcy to my knowledge at anytime before her marriage. The bankruptcy is both of theirs.
3 We have no evidence that it was SW living outside her means only and not also CW.
4 We do not yet have any concrete evidence of serious financial issues at the time of the murders.
5 This is all speculation. We do not know the reasons why there was a school change. Since Bella was attending a private school, I do not see how that proves financial problems.

BBM:
Regarding the HOA:
We live in a nice but generic newish neighborhood with a HOA that is merely there to police the tidiness of front lawns and to ensure people don't pain their houses pink, put cars on bricks in front yards etc.(you know what I mean, lol!) They do not do yard maintenance or anything else except monitoring on a fairly silly level!

Our HOA bills us twice a year for their annual "fees" and I bristle each time I get a bill. We keep everything neat and tidy but if there is a tree they think is a few inches too high I get a nastygram instructing me to get it attended to.

I placed a small sign on our lawn to request people not to let their dogs poop on the grass and the HOA said it should be removed as signs other than security signs are not "allowed" and may be deemed offensive to some. (I suppose political signs.)

Perhaps The Watts family was peeved with something that occurred in their HOA and refused to pay dues on principle.

I am an early bill payer - always pay early just in case, but I sit on those HOA bills just "because".

Regarding him getting the home loan.. you do not need good credit for an FHA loan. Not even close. You can get one with a score in the 500s. (A local mortgage company here advertises credit scores of 580 will qualify) So just because she wasn't on the mortgage doesn't mean she had bad credit and his was good. His may not have been as bad as hers, or it may not have helped to have her on the mortgage for interest rate purposes, etc.

I’m not criticizing the type of mower he used, I’m merely pointing out that it looks rather expensive, and the size of their lawn looks rather small, and a much less expensive push mower would suffice. IMO people who follow a strict budget know the difference between what they need and what they want, and try to conserve money based on that principle whenever they can.

It appears to be a Craftsman brand with a Dust Blocker bag. One can purchase one for less than $200 at Sears.

This is a good point. Personally, I do believe they were in dire financial straits, but the HOA thing may not be indicative of that.

I’m thinking “tools” was a partial truth that meant, “shovel.” Grave digging shovel.
LOL! Yep, I bet you're right!

SW was the one who 'liked to live beyond her means?' Wasn't CW making financial decisions as well? He was the one whose name was on the papers for buying the 5 bedroom, 3 car garage, brand new home. Wasn't that his decision ?

I saw him test driving those new cars on video...wasn't that his decision? He seemed to be all onboard for having a 3rd child. Couldn't have happened without him. Wasn't that a joint decision too?
Imo that was marketing 101 strategies videoed by SW you gotta look the part to recruit . Moo

That's what I understand as well. A decent credit score of 720 or above will get a better interest rate than someone in the 600's. And that's actually a lot of money you can save. Do you know how long their mortgage was for? Was it 15 or 30 years? The interest on those 30 year loans is astronomical.

@Layla123 In terms of the size of the backyard lawn being questioned and the relative size of the lawnmower (lawn to mower ratio) there is also the front and side yards to consider as well that need to be maintained with said lawn mower. Often times, the smaller more compact lawn movers are actually more expensive to purchase versus mainstream sized lawnmowers.

Also, when you say "IMO people who follow a strict budget know the difference between what they need and what they want, and try to conserve money based on that principle whenever they can". Are you referring to CW only or SW or both because it should be an equal responsibility on both person's part with respect to their finances.

Respectfully, I’m not sure why this was a problem in need of solving. When quoting someone else’s words, quotation marks are used. For example, “She said he loved chocolate,” according to the article. That is different than, “I love chocolate,” said Merry. MOO

Perhaps because CW was having an affair, planning on leaving his family, and Le Vel behind. No Le Vel sales, no auto allowance.
Perhaps so . Imo that would also mean a huge cut in pay for SW. he was recruited below her since she stated he was part of her team on Sm. She had a lot to lose if he left. Perhaps her VIP status for her car as well. Moo

I've studied photos of the truck and it looks like a work truck. Big tool box in the back and what looked like some type of equipment. Interesting that he told LE he went back in for tools, when truck was backed into garage, and yet he had a big tool box in the back of truck. What would he use at work AND home? Hmmmm?

Maybe the wrenches he would need to undo the bolts holding the hatch? Although, since he also included a gas can, I wonder if he had a gas powered impact wrench like this:

Being a mechanic, it seems like a tool he might own and keep in his garage for personal use as well as work use when needed. JMO.
