I am really baffled as to why some view Shanann as insecure because I see the polar opposite; a very secure woman. She is secure enough to go live on FB frequently, pose for photos in a bikini, post photos and videos of herself with no makeup on and she publicly tells her truth – the good bad and the ugly. We have heard about her divorce, her health challenges, her friendships, her children’s personalities and activities, etc. She’s secure enough to voice all of those things openly, but you think she’s insecure? May I ask why?
MOO
Excellent post and strong points. She was not insecure, she was a fighter and a winner! I think we will find that CW and all his horrible acts and dirty little secrets will be the center of the trial.

Yes she would be able to get insurance. It is illegal to deny based on preexisting conditions. The ACA in CO is very good. She wouldn't pay more due to her conditions. Unless she was smoking.

Self-employed here with the same preexisting conditions as SW. I can corroborate that, with the ACA, getting health insurance for kids and myself has been no problem. Our conditions do not factor into cost. Whether she remained in CO or returned to NC, it shouldn't have been a problem. Both states have subsidies which make premium payments based on income.

That’s gross earnings, if that number is true.

Very few people make much money as these things go, and until proven otherwise, I don’t believe it would have helped their financial situation much.
Isn't that type of job a little unpredictable? Maybe you can make a lot of money for two months and then have two months when you don't make much at all? So that you can't really rely on a consistent income? I've seen many people who have similar jobs whose situation or salary has changed drastically in a short period of time. Jmo

Hmmm... That is why she had to die that early morning? Before she goes to the doctor's appointment?

That's an interesting theory but I thought it was an ultrasound appointment.

Have we had anyone who knew CW speak negatively of him?

I don’t recall anything negative being said about CW (pre-murders). We have a VI here who has spoken highly of him, as well as several former classmates, his high school teacher, and a former roommate of his at NASCAR school. JMO

The Thayers were disturbed by his behavior after the murders and did not note any sense of grief or devastation on his part. They were friends of CW. I imagine that SW's family has been told they will likely be called to testify as have some other friends who likely have been advised not to speak to the press so as to damage their testimony. What we have also not seen is anyone publicly coming out to defend CW and his story who knew him, as far I know.

On the topic of medical benefits, I found a wealth of information in this benefits guide (link below) which appears to be for Anadarko employees, for the 2018 year. UnitedHealthCare seems to be the health insurance company, with two plans being offered to U.S. domestic employees. Jmo.

We haven't had anyone speak negatively of CW... of course, we haven't had anyone say anything of substance either.

  • #369
Have we had more than one person who knew him speak about CW? No! Have we had numerous persons speaking in support of CW, as they have for Shanann? No!

I wouldn’t be surprised. My assessment is based on earnings disclosures of some of these MLM companies and not this one specifically.

I’m speaking in a general sense, that it’s unlikely they were getting rich off of this endeavor.

This ties in to a potential motive (among many) on the part of CW.

Yes, which can be consistent with the profile of a family annihilator. But there are is also not one person PUBLICLY (not anonymously) coming out so far to defend CW and say they believe he did not do it. They have just said they did not see this coming, IMO.

COBRA for several months and then the insurance goes away. You have to get your own. COBRA is the cost of the premium in full. You pay it to keep your coverage

In the old days that was the only option. That changed with the ACA. Thousands of people in states that have exchanges smoothly transition to the ACA when they lose their jobs.

And because the exchang is so comprehensive she would have zero need for COBRA.

Here are participants in the CO exchange:
Anthem/Blue Cross/Blue Shield
Bright Health
Cigna
Delta
Dentegra
Denver Health Plans
Friday Health Plans
Rocky Mountain Health Plans
Kaiser Permanente

She would've been fine. No need for COBRA.

If his job was the one providing the family insurance wouldn't he need to keep her coverage at least until the birth of Nico?

I doubt it. (SW would have earned 20% on her direct sales, 12% on her level 1 customers and 4% on level 2 & 3 customers.) Without knowing what her direct sales and down line sales were we can’t really figure out what she was making.
jmo

Yep. There are a few tools that can help rough out an average monthly commission once the upfront costs, sales numbers and downline team members are factored in, but we don't have that info. MLM compensation guidelines are, IMO, deliberately inscrutable, so the illusion of financial success can be prolonged. The various promotions also reinforce this illusion. This is not to say that SW was not a terrific rep for Thrive -- only that her abilities would not necessarily be reflected in any profits she might or might not have been making. IMO.

Exactly. And most things said about him are the same sort of things I'd say about my neighbor who I wave to each morning, but I don't actually know much about. "He was quiet, he *seemed* like a good dad, they *seemed* to have the perfect marriage, he didn't socialize much, didn't have many girlfriends, etc." You're not seeing people coming out of the woodwork saying they hung out with him. It doesn't really seem like he had any friends outside of people he met through Shanann.

I think that is likely based on legal advice, not a lack of conviction on their part. MOO

She was 15 weeks along imo her initial exam, tests, cultures would have indicated that and as to her having other appointments afterwards if she had any symptoms irregularly speaking I would be assured the dr would test her at any given point. Moo
Maybe the Doctor did test her and it was going to be discussed. Maybe CW knew he had an STD and was sitting on a powder keg waiting and finally snapped! MOO!

Why did CW need to speak with his dad before confessing? Or would only confess, if he could speak to this dad?

This is what I keep pondering.

Absolutely true. But this VI didn’t speak just highly of him, she attacked SW.

Because these people are anonymous (and there’s of course nothing wrong with that), we don’t know the nature of their relationship to the parties involved.

They may be biased, or have a vested interest based on the closeness of their relationship.

These people should be heard, and we should make a judgement for ourselves if we are going to listen or not.

But they can’t change the facts, and we should take what they say “with a grain of salt.”

If what they say causes you to completely change your opinion of SW and CW, you are likely putting too much stock in one lone source of evidence. JMO.

I’m not sure their is any group that will accept what he did, especially in regards to his children.

He’s destined to spend the rest of his life in administrative segregation, unless he ends up on death row, which is essentially the same thing.
Maybe. I don't think prisoners care as much as we think they do. My son's killer got beat up with some regularity, from what i understand, but also secured some kind of protection... Not certain of the umnm consent involved, but he survived his sentence and is out in the free world. I'm not certain if his beatings related to his crime or just his ever so stellar personality.

I believe this is on topic, and I state this brief personal anecdote because it relates to the topic of CW's possible experience in jail and likely later prison.

ETA thank goodness my case wasn't high profile which is different than this one
