If SW was my daughter and her children were gone too. I would let the mortgage go into arrears and the bank take it.

So CW tells the lawyer “My wife strangled the kids,” and the lawyer took him at his word, and made the request.

She says that the night before, that Sunday night. Around 7:15, she was on her back deck. She had some family over. They were hanging out. She noticed Chris Watts was in the Watts family backyard, and he was barbecuing, you know, doing some grilling. But what stood out to her was she didn`t hear any noise, any children calling for their dad, anything like that.

This is confusing. If the alleged male AP was so terrified why is he doing these interviews and letting his identity become known all-over the world? He is rather flamboyant in the interview and does not appear terrified. He seems to be enjoying the attention. MOO

Do we know his identity? Maybe I missed that. IMO he may just be flamboyant but that doesn't mean he isn't "terrified" or troubled by all of this. "Terrified" may have been her description and not a word that he actually used. IMO

I definitely agree. DNA could easily be explained away (touch DNA), as the defense could claim it was transferred during the body dumping (which he has admitted to).

Autopsy findings may be far more compelling.

Do recall a news cast saying they were gathering evidence and something like possible weapons? Or any of WS sleuthers? Morbid, could the "weapon" have been part of the bedding or the "nonporous" bag found at the scene. (sigh).

I still think the only weapon he used, was his hands. Once we get our hands on the autopsy reports, we’ll have a better idea. Maybe.

I think that that was just a standard warrant form for gathering all or any evidence.

i'm a long time lurker, and don't ever make comment o Webleuths, but wonder if there might have been a roid rage episode. I know nothing about steroid use, so please excuse my ignorance. Could (even low dose) long term steroids be a cause of 'instability'? It seems Chris took a lot of care of his body. Always exercising, lifting, being the buff beauty. Steroids PLUS that thrive stuff, could be a potentially dangerous combo? Maybe?

Well, he didn't do any leg work. I think that he has a really strange shape. Short chicken legs and huge chest and biceps.

Likely not. But if he does retain new counsel, I believe that would mean he is not seriously considering a plea deal? I imagine hired guns would definitely mean a whole public relations strategy, resulting in fireworks here on the threads on a daily basis! Those high profile defense attorneys are typically outspoken for their clients IMO.

Interesting question! I know what you mean about some people feeling like they probably wouldn’t be friends w/Shanann. I’m not organized, my house is lived in/messy and the thought of posting a video of myself anywhere is horrifying. Nothing like Shanann at all. When I first met her I didn’t think we’d have much to say since we had nothing in common. Never expected to actually like her.

I tell you what—that girl grew on me something fierce. She didn’t care I was nothing like her— not one bit. She was just interested in getting to know me. I’ve heard the expression “didn’t have a judgmental bone in her body” before but never met anyone who personified it as much as Shanann. She was genuinely interested in everyone and a champion of their dreams big and small.

The last time I saw her I remember driving away thinking how much brighter my day was after talking to her, and impressed at how genuinely excited she was for one of our friends who just found out about a personal success.

At her Celebration of Life service, I was struck by the huge range of friends that were there. Rich, poor, polished, shlumpy, young,old, Moms, single people — she didn’t gravitate to a type. She gravitated to people, period. And kids. She loved kids.

Since she supported everyone around her it’s particularly distressing to see total strangers judge her without knowing her at all. Had they had the chance to know her for a bit, I think she might have grown on some of them too.
