I agree, CW discarding his children in oil tanks just pretty much sets up he is capable of anything, they'd question themselves, did they really know him at all? How can they defend the indefensible? :(

I don't know how anyone can get past the oil tanks.

Which is not unusual depending on the child. My youngest daughter loved her bed and sometimes I had to entertain her for an hour before finally putting her to bed at 6.30pm.
When she started school at 5 years old and didn't have a nap, she was still going to bed at 6.30pm.

STOP the parenting debate now, everyone. This is one of the fastest ways to get a thread shut down. Do you all remember the recent family annihilator case of the Hart family? The 2 moms who drove their entire family off a cliff, killing everyone? We no longer have an open thread for that case primarily because members made everything personal and turned the thread into a giant parenting debate and pretty much forgot about the missing and murdered children.

We're not going to do that in this case, okay? When you or I or my next door neighbor puts their children to bed or wakes them up does not matter. Whether we give our kids sugar or think it's poison does not matter.

Please stay on topic. This is about Shan'ann's murder and the murder of her beautiful children. It's not about you, me, or anyone else. Don't take posts personally.

responding to post that states that it feels like "she's on trial"

I respectfully do not understand that line of thinking. When a tragedy happens to people, the why's and how's are largely influenced by the collusion of personalities. A victim is a victim and no rational person can justify a murder of a pregnant woman and her babies. It is wrong, period. However baseless the perpetrators motivation may be, it is his perception nonetheless. If a perpetrator says a victim was "difficult" or "aggressive" or whatever, then it goes towards our "understanding" of his twisted actions. Observations about the dynamics of the relationship are natural and not "victim-shaming". I don't post in detail about this case because I don't want to be labeled as thinking "she deserved it". Human life is sacred and I resent the implication that pondering their "dynamic" is condoning murder in any way shape or form.

@liltexans Thanks again for your continued guidance. Can you please confirm that we have no factual evidence that the girls bedtime on August 13, 2018 was 6:30p, and therefore they could not be outside with CW when he was seen by a witness grilling at 7:15pm. Also, If I'm incorrect about this, I'd like to know. TIA

I honestly don't know if we have factual evidence of the girls' bedtime on any day. I think there is only anecdotal evidence of when Shan'ann says the girls' bedtimes typically were. I assume CW may have given a timeline of his own to LE, but CW is a proven liar, so we can't rely on what he says. We will have to wait until we get an evidence-based timeline from LE.

She may have been the dominant one, but I am not sure that it means what some people insinuate that it means.
IKR? Who'd have thought SW's musings would be held against her? She was self aware, emotionally intelligent while she credits CW for his intelligence, obviously imo, not of the common sense variety. :P

And if you're a witness that's not yet been interviewed, how could you not be tainted if you read the autopsy report of being submerged in crude oil for 4 days.

For me it's these three
1. not calling 911
2. Shanann was pregnant
3. oil tanks

Indefensible IMO.

Exactly.

The only fault I can see in SW was that she married CW.

We haven't seen anyone in authority validate his claims as yet. He asserts that AB and LE have seen his texts from CW( which he further states SW found on 4th July) and that he handed towels which contained CW's DNA to LE. All of those claims can easily be proved I suppose, so we shall see. Curious to know why you would save soiled towels unless blackmail is your thing...
BBM
If I'm reading this right, AB said that SW saw the texts on July 4th between CW and AB? You may have already done so, but could you please post the source for that again?

Interesting question! I know what you mean about some people feeling like they probably wouldn’t be friends w/Shanann. I’m not organized, my house is lived in/messy and the thought of posting a video of myself anywhere is horrifying. Nothing like Shanann at all. When I first met her I didn’t think we’d have much to say since we had nothing in common. Never expected to actually like her.

I tell you what—that girl grew on me something fierce. She didn’t care I was nothing like her— not one bit. She was just interested in getting to know me. I’ve heard the expression “didn’t have a judgmental bone in her body” before but never met anyone who personified it as much as Shanann. She was genuinely interested in everyone and a champion of their dreams big and small.

The last time I saw her I remember driving away thinking how much brighter my day was after talking to her, and impressed at how genuinely excited she was for one of our friends who just found out about a personal success.

At her Celebration of Life service, I was struck by the huge range of friends that were there. Rich, poor, polished, shlumpy, young, old, Moms, single people — she didn’t gravitate to a type. She gravitated to people, period. And kids. She loved kids.

Since she supported everyone around her it’s particularly distressing to see total strangers judge her without knowing her at all. Had they had the chance to know her for a bit, I think she might have grown on some of them too.

(apologize for the duplicate post— embedded it in a quote last time and couldn’t do it again if I tried)

Thank you so much for sharing her with us. I may be in the minority but I think SW would have been a good friend had I ever met her. She may have been described as a perfectionist by some but from her videos I see a woman who is comfortable with herself and not afraid to let her flaws show. She didn't automatically stop her live videos when the girls got fussy or something didn't go as planned. She took photos of herself with her kids even when she had to wear a neck brace after surgery. She did videos without makeup sometimes. I know plenty of young women who are so self-conscious and such perfectionists they never let themselves be photographed like that-- Instead if they don't feel "camera ready" they focus on taking pics of the kids, husband, dog, etc. Or they heavily edit the photos taken with some photo touch up app. SW's videos show she wasn't using a special filter or editor for most of her photos. She was beautiful and she was herself. I'm so sorry SW and her precious children Bella, CeCe and baby Nico are no longer here on this earth.

Just like with the spoken word-it’s how you say it.

For example:

Maybe C.W. felt SW was emasculating him.

Vs

SW constantly emasculated C.W. and this made him snap and kill her. This is an example of victim blaming.

The car shopping was something NAU posted on her FB page back in July after hail damage. It happened weeks before and had absolutely nothing to do with that day, that week or that month. Or this case. The author just grabbed some random posts and made up a story.

You could be right. He was trying to make a buck.

@Colorado303 if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your favorite memory of Shan’Ann and the girls?

  • #616
The accusation from CW that SW killed her babies is never going to fly. The admission that he killed SW and Nico will fly, but not for the reason he stated. He killed them all because he wanted them all gone from his life. Period. Whatever led him to being able to follow thru with murdering all of them, one by one is incredulous.
Has it ever been discussed if CW was doing drugs? Could he have been doing drugs while SW and the girls were in NC? Maybe some sort of stimulants?

I wonder about drugs, too.

I completely understand. But as in the Scott Peterson case, we saw some of his family and even himself (prior to arrest but long after retaining a criminal defense attorney) give media interviews in his defense. I believe, and please correct me if I am wrong, when the public perception is overwhelmingly against their client, it is in the best interest of their client for a strong defense to want to mitigate that public perception (and future jury pool) and create a more sympathetic or neutral view of said client. Family/friends could even say, "I wish I could speak on this because I believe him to be innocent, but we cannot at this time due to counsel's advice. But please reserve judgment until trial when many more facts will come to light." I am not hearing any of that. My guess is because it would be too difficult to answer questions about CW because what he has already admitted to is so heinous and illegal, IMO. CW's actions and confessions have made a clean defense of innocence exceedingly difficult (also IMO).

I think things are a lot different now because of the net. People write a lot in those comment sections.

If CW saw Shannan “actively strangling” his little girls, then he likely had time to call 911 and at least try to resuscitate them imo.

This will be a big factor and elephant in the room at trial I think so maybe he will claim he tried to resuscitate them both.
This might sound crazy but the one teeny, tiny thing that has always bothered me was when CW’s attorney requested, right off the bat, that swab samples be taken of the girls’ necks and hands for DNA. It makes me wonder if he wore gloves when he strangled the girls, so as not to leave his DNA, but then some how managed to take his dead wife’s hands and place them on their necks to transfer her DNA, as well as on their hands. Just a thought.
