It hasn't backfired yet, has it? I think the defense knows exactly what it is doing and is doing it well. JMO
The Defense has lost almost every motion they’ve filed. They half lost the motion to keep CW’s visitors private. That one is yet to be determined on a visitor by visitor basis. Today C.W. gave up his right to manage his estate. What makes you think the Defense knows what they’re doing?

This is a must watch! It's a heartwarming interview with one of Shanann's teachers who was also a life-long friend, who talks to AB about how far Shanann had come since he first met her when she was 14 years old.

He says, "She's a wonderful, beautiful human being who learned that the power of giving your life away, I think, brings true joy."

He is reduced to tears when AB begins to talk about a letter he found recently that Shanann wrote to him back in 2002. In the letter, she tells him that he helped bring out the true person in her back in 9th grade.

He says, "She had a level of empathy like, that a lot of people today just don't."

And, "That woman and her light and legacy, she did enough in her short amount of time to affect people's lives for a long time to come, I think."

Wow! The irony:

“He says, "She had a level of empathy like, that a lot of people today just don't."“

(—I believe I’ve used the word “empathy” (or lack thereof) quite a bit myself..)

I’m curious, from a forensic and statistical perspective, as related to recovery locations, has a child’s body ever been dumped in a crude oil tank before that has ever been documented? In other words, would this be the first time in history that an actual “crude oil tank” is the official “disposal site” of a (child) murder victim?
There hasn't been a case involving a child, but someone posted this many moons ago. Unfortunately, the body was never recovered.

They are just questioning their relationship and what impact it had on CW’s actions.

That's what they say, but IMO most, but not all, are on his side for whatever reason but not prepared to admit it.

It creeps me out that he claims CW brought the girls with him one time. Apparently that was when he discovered CW was married, because one of the girls said “Daddy, can I sleep with you and Mommy tonight”. Again, how could he!
Kids are super smart and know things. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say if Bella saw her dad with someone else, she wanted to make it clear that her dad is with her mom, she probably sensed some untoward behavior from TB or the encounter. And from another interview I watched with TB, they were hanging out for quite awhile, like a whole day, with the kids, it wasn't just a moment. My ex's 6yo used to do that, he'd always tell me stuff he wanted to do with his dad and mommy, just to needle me. IMO

"Counsel has a good faith belief that once the autopsies are finished, the remains of the two children—and more importantly, this evidence—will be turned over and lost forever."

Even more interesting is the motion says neck swab is more important than the bodies of the murdered children. I don't think these lawyers are used to their pleadings receiving any public attention because this just reads as callous even if I understand legally what they're saying.
Oh, the irony of having to file this motion when it was their own client who hid the bodies in oil, hoping they would continue to deteriorate for as long as possible!

Doesn't matter if the defense lost the motion. They are doing their job. They are protecting their client. CW didn't give up his right to manage his estate, he's allowing SW's family to manage HER estate. The same guy who gave permission for them to enter and remove items from his house. JMO

If SW was my daughter and her children were gone too. I would let the mortgage go into arrears and the bank take it.
After I had retrieved my daughter's and granddaughters possessions that meant something to me, I would never want to have anything to do with it again.

Theoretically, there is $100,000 of equity in the house

Protecting their client from what? What have you seen? HER estate belongs to him. He is her surviving heir. He gave up his right to manage it today.

Ignorant of the process of the ME's autopsy regimen.
Considering that's one of the first things they did, I'm wondering what the future will bring. Does anyone know his reputation as a defense attorney? What is his name?

I’m incredibly interested in the effect on a deceased body, and the viability of DNA. I’m sure we all are.
Meeeee toooo. Interested and concerned: I’ve seen cases were hopefully viable samples turned out to be inconclusive. I was trying to do some research on this (crude oil, DNA etc) and found that above link I posted, but I realized my brain is too foggy and tired to comprehend it at the moment hahaha. I don’t think it’s a forensic article lol.

ETA: I’m finding a lot of articles about the effect of crude oil on LIVING creatures, but not dead:

The Toxicity of Oil: What's the Big Deal? | response.restoration.noaa.gov

“Given oil's chemical complexity, we need to consider how these different components—and their very different effects on living things—cause harm.“

Snip

“It’s important to know the specific chemical makeup of an oil (and how that makeup changes over time as the oil weathers.”

What does that mean? Is there or isn't there? How do we know?

Yes. I remember this one. I’m just curious about any body at all (not just a child), found in a crude oil tank.

Yeah, I don't know where we're going to find that information. If it's out there, I haven't seen it.

Yes, the kind of broken brain that was having affairs with all types of partners.
I've always thought it was super weird his roommate said CW never had any relationships. SW was his first LTR, and maybe even his first sex. Once he got neck deep into marriage and kids he didn't like it, got buff, and had this new found sex appeal. And all the sex he should have been having before committing forever to one person, he had the last year or so. IMO.

Just watched this. Thank you! I love that she wrote him that sweet letter just because he was moving. I’m not that nice to anyone. I need to try harder. Lol.

Since we have no idea how the relationship started, who was the initiator, when it started and where and how often it was conducted, I will reserve my judgment.

We do know how the relationship started and it's been reported repeatedly by many MSM sources.

A mutual contact sent her a Facebook prompt suggesting CW as a possible friend. She deleted it. Two months later she received a diagnosis — her brother said she had lupus — “and I went through one of the, I would say, darkest times of my life, because things just got scarier.”

She was living in NC at the time, quit her job of nine years, lost friends “because they didn’t understand that I looked perfectly fine, and I felt horribly inside,” and “was in a really, really, really bad place, and I got a friend request from Chris on Facebook,” she said. “I was like, oh what the heck, I’m never going to meet him,” she said. “Accept.”

“Well, one thing led to another, and eight years later we have two kids, we live in Colorado, and he’s the best thing that has ever happened to me,” she said.

Well, I think it’s the least he can due considering what did to his family.

It doesn’t quite make up for it though.

I’m looking...

If there’s not much documentation, research, etc this could be a challenge for expert witnesses, etc.
