I'm guessing this is where the defense is saying the prosecution is leaking information.
More like the defense.Poor pitiful CW alone with his bible and pic of his beloved children.

With the close proximity of the neighbors’ houses, driveways, and yards it amazes me that no one heard anything except for the barking dog. Or even in the past, arguments, fighting, yelling etc. They must be well insulated homes.
This is a very good point and if it goes to trial, I'm sure the state will bring it up.

Oh I think they're doing a great job.

The timing of that precious bit of PR about poor, sweet Chris reading the Bible and staring at his dead family, being released just before their angry motion response in which they basically throw up their hands (it's coming out anyhow) and call out the state for enabling leaking that makes the golden boy look bad, while claiming to care about his rights?

Perfect.

They don't have much to work with but they're working it well.

As a litigator I've got to give credit where credit is due.
Out of curiosity and purely as an intellectual exercise, what is your educated guess for what the autopsy is likely to show based on the defense motion? My best guess is that it (1) contains nothing significantly exculpatory or they would be shouting from the rooftops to make it public, (2) also likely has nothing too inflammatory - e.g. probably no major damage to children from being put through hole (or else they would be shouting don't make it public). As for whether CODs match his story, I don't have a guess because even if it goes against his confession, they may strategically think it is better to come out now so they can deal with it and slowly change public perception as time goes on? Just some thoughts. Can you offer yours? Anyone else? Just something to do to pass the time until we likely have the results soon.

"That said, Mr. Watts’ rights to a fundamentally fair proceeding and, ultimately, a fair and impartial jury at trial, have been so substantially damaged in this case, it does not seem that any prophylactic order, at least on the narrow issue of whether the autopsies should be released, can serve to salvage the wreckage of those rights which may remain."

Wow. Very strong wording here! Salvage the wreckage of those rights?!

The tone of this attorney's responses remind me of Garagos and Baez.

I'm still waiting for more information - I think there's way more that we don't know.

What is the "more" that you think we don't know. You must have a concept of what information is missing. Can you explain what you are waiting for, that would prompt you to a decision?

I believe all the major facts have been revealed and all that is left is small details supporting the facts. CW brutally murdered his family, disposed of the bodies in a horrible fashion, posed, preened, duped, and lied until he knew he was caught, and then made self-serving unsupported accusations to try and mitigate his guilt! It's all there in black and white, including five first degree murder charges. Oh, and other sundry charges.

Probably in less time than it took to strangle his wife.

If we were riding opening and closing statements for the prosecutor, that would be one of them! That it would take less time for 911 to respond then it would to kill her.

I have wondered the same, Human. IIRC, there are drones equipped with heat sensing capabilities. I know I have read in other cases that a body (sorry :(), will continue to emit heat (maybe from gases) after death (sorry again :()?

I do not know much about these capabilities, or how long after death a body may be detectable. Does anyone know about such things- or the case(s) in which this was discussed?

IMO we don't know very much and IMO there's a lot more to come out. The digital footprint and the autopsies could tell us more. I can't say what I'm specifically waiting for when I don't know what we don't know.

Excellent, and so true! And sad.

I don't know. I suspect it shows all three were strangled. That's as far as I can go.

If there was anything remotely exculpatory they'd request a bail hearing.

I don't think their response has anything to do with trying to control the timing of the release.

Has anyone other than me thought that maybe the AP was the one who first come forward to LE and triggered them to CW/site location, etc?. I have always wondered if something within a conversation she/he? & CW had at some point didn’t lead the AP to immediately come forward once SW/BW/CCW were reported missing. Adding things up on timing of acknowledging an AP (which he did not come forward with until presented with it)... a work location etc.. I know NUA is praised as the hero in this, but I wonder if the AP is not also a hero in bringing this out quickly...
( I’m giving her a “bye” on having the afair, that’s not my business).... she is the #1 person I’m waiting to hear from.

Above BBM.
That is exactly the first thing that stood out to me. "It appears the government is claiming to be concerned with Mr. Watts' constitutional rights." Them's fighting words, IMO.

Do you think the defense may try to use this for grounds to an appeal, if convicted? Unfair trial (before it even started), because the prosecution leaked info to the media? It would be hard to prove, IMO- but will they try?

I understand that as you've stated it many times. Everyone wants more information about CW because we'd like to understand what drove him to act the way he did.

However, it's just as important to know more about Shanann as well because there's another side to her other than the one portrayed in the Thrive videos. There were two people in the relationship and we need to understand as much as possible about each of them.

I'd still like to know if you've read the Bella Marie blog though because that's more information about the sort of person Shanann was. It was done for no-one else's benefit other than her unborn child.

IMO the digital footprint and autopsies will confirm or disprove what we know. In other words, not add new facts, but confirm existing facts.

Meanwhile, good answer. And the waiting continues.
