We have zero evidence to base he lied for years
We have evidence that he lied for at least months, per his work affair confirmed by LE. Others have also come forward, per PommyMommy's list above. IMO someone can't just maintain eye contact and lie like that without experience and confidence.

Regarding the HIV and the prison not testing him unless he was ill, I’m sure someone on here posted that all prisoners are tested for HIV upon incarceration ? Correct me if I am wrong.
That post specified State incarceration, and he is in a county jail. I'm not sure if Weld or other counties would do this, as they are often short-term incarcerations. moo

Busy guy, if all of that turns out to be true. In any case a guy can show up in a 2 minute video all smiley and getting pies in the face, while pining for an AP who he is about to see in a few hours, or just did see a few hours ago. IMO there is no way a married guy/gal can carry on an affair without taking time away from the family.
Nor without lying. He was obviously quite practiced at that and confident in his ability to lie. MOO

We only know that 1 of these affairs has been confirmed (as per the arrest affadavit). My thinking is that the other two reported affairs are false. My thinking is based around the fact that no other affair partner or prior girlfriend has surfaced to dish the dirt.
Remember when AB commented on the huge blacked out area on the affidavit, much larger than it would have been had it only blacked out one name, and she, IIRC, theorized there could have been other APs listed there which had been blacked out.

I think this profiler is wrong about CW.
Do you think all of the experts are wrong, then?

CNN.com - Transcripts
BANFIELD: Cheryl Arutt, does this tell you anything? Does this story on the outside of his body, the before and after transformation, does it tell you anything about what a man can be like on the other side?

ARUTT: This tells me that ego may have taken over for Chris Watts. All of a sudden, he was ripped. Women may have been looking at him. He was having financial problems with his wife, two kids, and another one on the way. He, I think, was wanting to get out there and feel attractive and feel that excitement. And I see what Shanann was doing as a plea saying don`t destroy this family.

I would say statistically there are not very many odds you were going to be murdered by a family anniliator as well. I am stating we do not know of the details of actions within the affidavit yet so we do not know what transpired. I just am looking at all possibilities instead of putting absolute blinders on.
Statistically, family annihilators are on the rise. I have heard of no case where both parents do what CW has alleged, after his initial set of lies and once backed into a corner because the bodies of his family had been located at his place of work. No blinders on, just looking at the facts and drawing reasonable, logical conclusions from them. The only evidence we have of SW committing a crime is by a proven liar, killer (by his own admission), and someone with every reason to blame someone else once he was backed into a corner and his initial set of lies was falling apart. IMO.

So, we have a hearing(s) next week and then the scheduling hearing on Nov. 19th. November should be very interesting and hopefully we'll get some clarification. And CW has been in jail 84 days? Is he still on suicide watch? Twelve (12) weeks of bland jail food, rudimentary exercise, if any, no patches or supplements, and no aerobic activity. I would think it would take real discipline to maintain his fitness.

Could the autopsy be released BEFORE the Nov. 19th hearing?

I used to lean towards a possible snapping type scenario, but now that I’ve had some time to see other cases and think about them as related to CW, my current opinion is that something had likely been growing/ brewing-inside him for a while, moo

I imagine he said and did some really strange things that we do not know about, moo.

  • The answer is yes, I think those 'experts' are incorrect.
  • Are they really experts are just wanting to raise their profile?
  • I don't rely on anything that comes from the AB show or her friend Steve from People.
Don't forget, they are basing their 'opinion' on a recording which may, or may not have been manipulated. They have not interviewed CW in person, nor did they know him personally.

I’ve referred to the show “Evil Lives Here” a lot lately, as it interviews those closest to murderers.

One of the most recent episodes really reminded me of the Watts case and it got me thinking about CW.

On that episode, a wife’s husband was arrested for a random attack upon another family. He was a TV satellite installer. He killed a woman (slit her throat and raped her), stabbed her three daughters to death then lit the whole house on fire. The mother survived by rolling into the pool. :(

My point: The perp’s wife said that she reaaallly believes her husband actually wanted to do this to their own family, but decided to take it out on someone else, this long time resentment and hatred towards his own family. That his behaviors had for a long time had been getting stranger and more bizarre, as related to his actions and demeanor towards all of them (her and the kids). She truly believes that he had been wanting to kill all of them for a long time.

Which brings to mind another case I mentioned from the same show, “Evil Lives Here”, where the husband became more disconnected and strange (turning the stove on in middle of the night and leaving it burning, hanging a doll from the living room ceiling, etc)

As I’ve mentioned before if there would be one question I could ask Shanann, it would be if there were any signs. “The show’s tag line from “Evil Lives Here”: “...but there had been SIGNS.”

I’m willing to bet that in hindsight there were signs. And Shanann noticed these signs. Perhaps they were really odd behaviors and changes.

Just some thoughts from a psychological aspect. That like these other killers, maybe the resentment and thoughts had been there for a while. A long while.

Everything is jmo.
I think she saw signs that he was cheating, but never considered that it would result in murder. She wanted to keep her family together, and thought she could fix it. :( MOO

No, we don't have evidence that he lied for at least months.
All we know is that the affair was 'active'. We have no idea when the affair started.

I think FBI profilers are highly reliable, but that is just my opinion. You believe the 3 media interviews may have been manipulated? Do you think three different media outlets may have manipulated CW's interviews? That would be quite a conspiracy or coincidence.

How could anyone ever even imagine or anticipate such a thing.

The horror of all this.

Manipluated in that they have been edited. I believe I have only seen 1 unedited version.

Do you believe that CW was an honest person who just excelled at lying after experiencing the most catastrophic event a family man can have? And that an honest person's first response, within minutes of this event, would be to start an elaborate cover up to dump and hide the evidence and lie to the world? I wonder if he felt badly for SW's family, his own parents/family, and all their mutual friends who would be searching and worrying about his family forever while he let them think they were just missing. How long would he have let his own parents, the children's grandparents, suffer not knowing their fate?

In what way was the non-edited version that you saw, different from the edited version aired on TV? And, how would anyone know if the "unedited" version had really been edited? The only way I would be suspect of editing (which all media outlets have to do, per time constraints) is that if the actual words were changed, ie edited to change the meaning of what he said. Do you have proof that the meaning of his actual words were changed on the interview?

Do you see a significant difference in CW's words and responses between the one unedited one you viewed and the other two? I found personally his answers to be largely the same, often repeating the same phrases to questions.

I was just pointing out that your original post was not correct.

Yes, I agree. But my point is that there are lots of profilers and they are not all saying the same thing.
