I’ve referred to the show “Evil Lives Here” a lot lately, as it interviews those closest to murderers.
One of the most recent episodes really reminded me of the Watts case and it got me thinking about CW.
On that episode, a wife’s husband was arrested for a random attack upon another family. He was a TV satellite installer. He killed a woman (slit her throat and raped her), stabbed her three daughters to death then lit the whole house on fire. The mother survived by rolling into the pool.
My point: The perp’s wife said that she reaaallly believes her husband actually wanted to do this to their own family, but decided to take it out on someone else, this long time resentment and hatred towards his own family. That his behaviors had for a long time had been getting stranger and more bizarre, as related to his actions and demeanor towards all of them (her and the kids). She truly believes that he had been wanting to kill all of them for a long time.
Which brings to mind another case I mentioned from the same show, “Evil Lives Here”, where the husband became more disconnected and strange (turning the stove on in middle of the night and leaving it burning, hanging a doll from the living room ceiling, etc)
As I’ve mentioned before if there would be one question I could ask Shanann, it would be if there were any signs. “The show’s tag line from “Evil Lives Here”: “...but there had been SIGNS.”
I’m willing to bet that in hindsight there were signs. And Shanann noticed these signs. Perhaps they were really odd behaviors and changes.
Just some thoughts from a psychological aspect. That like these other killers, maybe the resentment and thoughts had been there for a while. A long while.
Everything is jmo.
