I do think when relationships or marriages disintegrate, behaviors come out in people, that even they can hardly recognize. All the pent up fears and emotions that have been stuffed over time just come to the surface in unexpected ways. Both of these people put on happy faces amidst all the chaos and health issues they were dealing with inside the family, to say nothing of the inability to manage their finances in a realistic way. Living in pretend worlds caught up with them. MOO
I think a lot of people go through hard financial times and their relationships/marriages break. However, most just go their own way, sort out the mess and do not end up murdering their entire family and then blame their slaughtered pregnant wife for killing her girls. This is not a normal situation. Its a sick, horrific one because of CW's actions.

At 3.26, SW turns her camera to the night stand where the baby monitor sits. Could any one determine a child has turned blue with that tiny screen? I don't believe it for a moment. The screen switches rooms approximately every 8 or 9 seconds.
I'm wondering where the door is, if CW could immediately see SW wasn't in the room, why go round the bed to look at the baby monitor? His story is unbelievable! JMO

Lol. Sure. He saw one kid "blue" on that tiny screen and then saw his wife strangling the other. Sure. Makes sense.

I thought a status hearing would be a simple court update on where things stand and the start of scheduling for future events?

If I was his lawyers. He wouldn't mess up my Thanksgiving to New Years holidays. Lol. Jmo.

It is. And I've never heard of a case this high profile and serious pleading out so quickly.

There hasn't been an arraignment even. And discovery hasn't occurred except the autopsy report.

Nope. Just another one of CW's big, fat lies and one that will be easily proven. MOO

The picture on the monitor looked black and white to me.

Psychopaths do have a tendency to believe their own lies after awhile.

Exactly. I believe that Jeffrey McDonald, heinous monster that he is, believes that he is innocent.

I believe that CW is a narcissist, and in a very twisted sense, sees this as his finest hour, victim, and survivor of a deranged woman. He definitely believes that he will tell his story, or have his defense team present the "truth", and his entire torment, how mentally berefit he was after having to defend his daughters from a killer Mother. And in his grief, he had a mental breakdown, and disposed of the bodies, he completely disassociated and blocked the horror of what happened, truly believing his wife and daughters had been taken, or left. He only was able to retrieve this memory when confronted by the police. That was when he spoke with his Father, and realized the truth, he had to disclose this most painful moment, when he desperately tried to save his the lives of his children.

Poor CW! He is a hero! His story must be told! He will be vindicated by a jury. He is probably practicing how to act during the trial, for maximum drama and pity. And he probably believes that he will be declared "not guilty".

(Sarcasm).

It is at night. You can't see color. People showed examples of it here previously.

So he either did it during daylight or turned on a light in the room. I imagine there are window coverings to block out light in the children’s rooms. A nighlight would not show much. To me, a hall light would be too far away to show much in terms of color in a dark room. But maybe, then.
It seems to me there must have been some sort of light in general in Bella and CeCe's rooms. Otherwise the baby monitors would be ineffective and simply show a dark room.

Im surprised these new baby monitoring cameras dont have a record button to manually record up to a hour of footage if you wanted to.

You would think they offer more recording or streaming or wifi features than the older models of 15 years ago. Jmo

Now if theirs does record. Then he should have hit the record button if Sw really was killing the kids while he went to save them. Jmo.

Yes it does seem VERY strange that he wouldn't have said she was going to her appointment, but he would say she was going on a play date. Seems like he didn't know.
I believe CW knew about Dr appointment but he also knew she was not going to make the appointment because he admittedly strangled her her dead. I believe he thought going on a play date best fit his story: husband tells wife he wants separation; wife upset and needs to talk with girlfriend, and makes "play date" where her girls will be out of earshot playing with friends, and SW can confide in her friend. [Story line right out of daytime soap]. CW wants us to believe that SW is upset enough to leave without telling anybody, needs time to think. However, CW didn't think far enough because he didn't know the name(s) of friend and/or location of play date. MOO

Would Shanann have turned on the lights in each child's bedroom to look at her kids as she strangled them?

Wow! Never even thought of that!

I think they would only verify if a high risk person missed an appointment.

But even then. Its confidential. Because too many crazy spouses will be seeing if their spouse is lying about a doctor's appointment.

Or they can show up if confirmed they are there.

But usually a secretary would automatically call several listed numbers if a person missed their appointment or was running late. Especially if they are still going to be billed a cancellation fee.

So I guess its just up to the nurse or whoever answers the phone. Idk

That would be of interest to later learn that the doctor's office also called him that morning in response to her mother and her friend calling to ask about the appointment.. We have not heard such. But the absence of such information doesn't mean anything, because I would think that information would be kept close to the vest prior to any trial.

If I recall correctly, at one point her friend was in contact with her mother during all of this.

What's odd to me is that he told this tall tale after he knew that one the major reasons NUA called the police was that Shanann missed her doctor appointment. He knew it would come out that she had an appointment. I can't figure out his motive with the play date lie. Although I'm sure he had one. Why was he trying to paint a picture of not knowing about the appointment? Just an odd move on his end that stands out to me. jmo

I just lost a good friend, of decades. He wasn't a family member. Yet for the last 3 days there is no way I could have done a TV interview, I have burst into tears at odd moments and when I have suddenly seen friends on the street who also knew him. This was not a husband, brother, father, boyfriend. I know this is slightly O/T, but not really, as here I am yet again with a heavy face and tears squeezing out. The reason I'm describing this is because there is NO WAY Chris Watts lost people he loved. I didn't really feel this before as I constantly criticized his stone cold persona in the videos, but now I completely understand. He murdered people he didn't even care about, and these were blood kin.

They can be, yes - but they can also be used for pleas. I’ve just learned to listen to my intuition when something seems out of the ordinary - and this one does.

Could be a plea - could be something else - or could be nothing.

The good thing is, we don’t have to wait long to find out :)

Why would her phone be in the loft cushion of the couches?

If she went upstairs then it was to go shower and get ready for bed.

If she wanted to be on her phone. Then she would have been downstairs to not wake the kids nor hubby. Jmo.

So why was Chris hell bent on having his emotional conversation?

Regarding the phone I am curious to find out if it was turned off. That would indicate to me CW put it there as I don't think Shannan probably ever turned it off. Although having it go straight to voicemail would have raised suspicion with her friends. Just tossing around some thoughts. I think the placement of the phone has some kind of implications, just not sure what yet.

I would generally agree but I just get the feeling this one is something important.

One that is important and they (defense) doesn't want the information to be plastered in the media therefore they are choosing it on a day which has election results that evening and the following days?
