I saw the interviews and thought CW seemed nervous. I have never met the man so have no idea what was "normal" behavior for him. JMO
And kinda pleased and happy with his shirt. jmo

Based on the interviews of CW and friends, I don't believe the phone was turned off. Otherwise people would have said their calls to SW went straight to voicemail.
I agree. After CW let NUA and the Officer in the house, they found Shanann's purse, suitcase and shoes downstairs.

Hmm..where is her phone..they wondered. I will bet, to CW's horror, either NUA or the officer suggested calling Shanann's phone, and her phone rang. From upstairs.

He's charged with first degree murder of SW and it isn't a bondable offense. I think his attorneys' priority is the filings they just made and bond request will come later. I agree, I think he's safer in jail. JMO
Being safer in jail is not why they haven't requested bond. They have no evidence to counter that would warrant bond. He's never getting out. jmo

Edited to add: thank God

Yes, I really don't see that they did anything wrong. The concern for a missing pregnant woman would surely outweigh the fear of violating the confidentiality laws. Its not as if they revealed any medical information. Jmo

I agree. I tend to think the doctor's office may have been given some additional details by the person who inquired and were told why they were were inquiring and why they were worried.

What I'd like to know is who made the inquiry to the doctor's office and was it a phone call or was it made in person? Was NUA aware of the extent of the marital problems? In an interview, she indicated how shocked she was when CW told her about a separation when she called him.

Whoever contacted the doctor's office by-passed CW completely. I believe NUA arrived at SW's house at noon or shortly after, and it appears she already knew the doctor's appointment was missed. She didn't call CW until 1:00 or after to ask him if he knew where SW and the girls were.

I think that whoever contacted the doctor's office knew about the extent and severity of the marital problems and may have already had some big concerns about CW as he was by-passed entirely on this, and he was the husband (and father) and in normal situations, I think the husband and father would be called before the doctor's office was contacted to find out how the appointment went, and to see if he knew where his wife and daughters were.

What happened is as far from normal as it could possibly be.

I'm with Gitana1 on this one. I have spent most of my life as an insurance agent that included group health insurance (before throwing that away to study law and philosophy lol...miss that salary) where HIPPA laws are of the utmost importance. A doctor's office could say that a patient is not present in their office without violating HIPPA laws. That is not revealing PHI (protected health information) edited to add jmo

Yeah that theory is incredibly illogical IMO.

It's probably already been discussed in depth but I wasn't involved in the earlier threads - how long after death does a body turn blue? I don't know if CW would know about decomposition processes, and this may indicate that he had indeed killed the girls a lot earlier and he did see them blue by the time he put them in his truck.

I will research it..

ETA - I've seen photos of JonBenet Ramsey (died by strangulation) taken about 20 hours after her death and she was still a normal color.

Years ago, I witnessed a child on the bottom of the pool. I was in the changing room when I noticed the girlfriend of the child’s father was in the sauna. I knew (small town and everyone knew everyone in the club) she was supposed to be watching his son and his son’s friend. I ran out and sure enough, that little boy (he was six years old) was on the bottom of the deep end and he was a white boy but he was totally black. Someone had jumped in to get him. They worked on him, the rescue squad came. He did recover, thank God. The point of my story is that he hadn’t been in the water terribly long to have first turned blue and then black from lack of oxygen. I saw this with my own eyes. I’ll never forget it.

I believe it was SW Mum that made the inquiry to Doctor whether or not SW was there or made the appointment. She was also in contact with NUA. The first place I learned that SW missed doctors appointment, and also missed school registration for Bella, was SW brother social media. MOO

I respect your opinion, gitana1. Would you be comfortable in stating your opinion on the kind of plea deal you think the state might be willing to accept in this case?

Exactly. And not one light but both. Because CW claims he saw one blue and then saw her strangling the other. So there likely had to be lights in both rooms for him to see that detail.

Nah. Instead I think he murdered his daughters and turned the lights on and kept checking the monitors as he ran around the house gathering stuff to remove their bodies from the house with. Like garbage bags.

From the beginning I thought he kept looking at them in the monitors after he killed them to make sure they were actually dead and hadn't revived.
It gives me chills just reading this. Horrible what happened in that house.

I'm leaning in this direction as well and that SW's mom was then in contact with NUA. That would also explain to me why NUA became so alarmed.

Sorry -- It's hard to unsee something like that.

Or they asked him to utilize some sort of location sharing app. Find my iPhone will emit a loud ping. Find Friends will make it clear it’s in the house. I would not be surprised if they had one or both of those sharing information across their devices. No way he could refuse to do it in front of NUA or LE. He had to appear to be helping. Jmo.

Yes and people have mentioned that some are in shock or stoic at times of death. What doesn't compute with that is:

1. He showed no signs of being in shock.

2. He wasn't just stoic or emotionless. He showed the opposite. He smiled and giggled.

3. He LIED. Shock or handling grief stoically doesn't also include actively and glibly lying and covering up a crime.
He looked well rested, was well groomed, showered, and freshly dressed. All while he KNEW his family was dead! Tells me what he is, and he's not a human being!

Thank you, and I agree that it is the PHI that is pertinent. Hope the law and philosophy studies were a lot more fun and less stressful than the group health insurance biz!

You're welcome. And to ensure there's no confusion, I think the state would accept an offer of guilt for all three murders and LWOP.

I don't believe the defendant would make such an offer.

There are some ridiculous and sometimes irrelevant bits of gossipy nonsense circling around out there about SW, that I believe have been disseminated by some close to CW, in a desperate effort to cast doubt as to his guilt.

I would expect to see a quick quieting of such nonsense (which could indicate he has talked to his loved ones about a plea), before I would come close to thinking there's a possible deal in the works.

But I really don't think that's going to happen here.

It would be great if it did though. It would spare SW's family and loved ones from more unbearable grief.
She did.

Of course. LWOP and guilty to three counts of murder one.

I completely missed this. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention, and I really *like, like, like* her answer, too.

Ha! Definitely more stimulating and more rewarding. It was always painful for me fighting for a claim against big insurance companies and losing. Rewarding when I got a claim paid. Kept me up when I couldn't. Figuring out how to make a true difference. The PHI (which is extremely important) was most likely not revealed. All they had to say is she's not here.

I felt he hid it temporarily so that while he disposed of the bodies it wasn't visible from any window and any ring wouldn't be heard from outside. I don't know why he wouldn't just turn it off. Maybe he thoughtmessages going straight to voicemail would be too alarming to people.
Interesting point about the voice mail, hadn't thought of that, but now I'll consider it.
