no, it wouldn't be because SW was the parent missing, not CW and child abuse is a state crime, not a federal crime. The only reason to get the FBI immediately involved would be if local police believed the children endangered. JMO

Endangered Missing Alert Issued
The Colorado Bureau of Investigations have since issued a "missing endangered alert" for Shanann Watts, Celeste and Bella due to the length of time that has passed since the three family members were seen.

Maybe she walked in on him doing something that night and the "emotional conversation" ensued? Maybe one of the girls told her, when she went to check on her. That would start a firestorm. Maybe that is what really happened, she got her phone, to call 911, he threw it over to the sofa, then all hell broke loose.. The more I think about this, the more likely it seems. Marital breakups happen every day, they don't end up in murder, but abuse of children, now you are talking holy war for a protective and loving mother like SW. I would be very surprised if the autopsy does not show SW with severe injuries before she was strangled.

My point is that no evidence is being pointed out. Just a hypothetical that it may exist, which is of course, not evidence.

There has been so much grasping at straws with this case, especially concerning SW. I can't decide if its because there is so much evidence against CW or if it's because of his interview that people feel the need to grasp at straws and point a finger at one of the victims. Or if it's because he appeared to be such a great husband and father. Appearances can be so deceiving.

Well, we don't know what we don't know. And maybe there was a reason he wanted their bodies to be soaking in crude oil. Over time, that would do a lot of damage.

And SW did used to work the night shift, leaving Dad home alone with the girl's overnight.

We do need to be open to any possibilities, right?

I would love to discuss evidence, and inferences/speculation we can draw from it, anytime. I just do not understand how we can say we wouldn't be surprised there was damning evidence against the victim without anything to back it up? To me, it starts to feel like victim bashing if there is zero evidence or basis laid for the speculation. Just IMO MOO

Well he certainly still wanted to have "marital relations" with her. He got her pregnant, after all. Then sent a text saying he "loved the little peanut already", when SW sent him a photo of the ultrasound. This is one thing that CW can't lie about- the exchange is on her Facebook page. And he seemed to be quite happy about the pregnancy.

I wouldn't think a man who wanted to separate would risk getting his wife pregnant if he wanted to leave her (and have an additional child to pay support for). He could have used protection, but chose not to. Why? Certainly doesn't sound like a man who told her he wanted a separation, IMO.

I know from friends that their husbands continued to have sex with them while also having an affair and they all used birth control. As soon as the wives found out about the affair, they left the husbands and divorced.

That said, I don't know that CW wanted another child. For all I know, he may have thought SW was using birth control. He didn't look happy in the video she posted when she informed him. JMO

There are a lot of cases, where the adult kills the child/children, to cover up sexual abuse.

Currently, the tragic case of Hazana, a 2 yr old, is one horrible example. Arrests have been made, which included rape and murder.

I didn't say CW had filed for divorce or that he had moved out so why do you imply I did?

I actually thought that was what you were implying when I asked if there was evidence that he wanted to separate and you said, you hadn't seen any evidence saying he didn't. I took that to mean, that you had seen evidence that he had filed for divorce and/or had moved out and I had somehow missed it.

I'm trying to figure out how people know he asked for the separation and not SW. He was the one cheating. If she knew he was cheating, she might have been the one asking for the separation.

Also, we have discussed before that the trip she made to her parents' house may well have been to let them know that she was planning to return to NC with the girls -- to let them know what her plans were and to ask for their help when she did make the trip to NC. I think she may well have told CW that she was leaving & taking the girls. What a blow to his ego. Talk about anger, shame, etc. -- that may very well be why he took the horrible path he allegedly took.

It takes two to tango, and there’s no evidence that she deceived him in order to get pregnant.

What would make you think she would know? HE would know, and any victim(s) would know, and that's motive right there. Beyond bizarre IMO are these wild speculations and nasty talk about a murder victim. But that's JMO.

A mother can usually tell when her children are being sexually abused at that age because they are verbal. My granddaughter's verbal comments were all it took for her pediatrician to immediately order a forensic sexual abuse examination. The last thing a mother would do is give the children to the abuser for the weekend. JMO
