I'm sure his family has been talking with various private defense counsel. I would bet money.
I think so too, but I'm surprised none have shown up yet. Is it money and/or this case is so ugly?

It's not a scientific proven fact that he saw Bella turning blue while SW was strangling her. CW said that he saw Bella turn blue while SW was strangling her. Like it or not, it's my opinion that that statement doesn't prove or disprove anything.
Yes, CW said he saw Bella turning blue which means she was still possibly able to be saved and his lack of calling 911 is puzzling to say the least. They had panic buttons on their alarm system that went straight to 911, all he had to do was push it.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. We don't know what the foundation for the entire case will be for the defense. They will have a lot more knowledge and evidence than they did.
JMO
IMO the defense has been hamstrung by CW's acting and talking before he had counsel. Never wise, even if you're innocent, and he's not innocent. Early on he spoke with his Dad and as far as I know his Dad isn't an attorney.

That's correct. Hopefully court (media) tweeters will be allowed to give us some live updates.

I hope so. But the last trial I followed, for Daron Wint , who killed an innocent family in Wash DC, had outlawed the use of electronics in the courtthouse. So we got very few tweets.

Personally, I would think money would be less of an issue for a high profile attorney if they thought it was winnable. I guess it is not, so why unduly risk their reputation without a fat paycheck?

Has anyone ever heard of anyone admitting an affair when the wife has just been found dead?

Kind of classic stuff no?

We are allowing discussion of the defense put forward by CW's legal team
He did not voluntarily admit the affair, it was discovered during the investigation and he quit denying it. You give CW way too much credit.

Thank you so much for checking the docket for us while you're in the middle of trial!

So no filming of the proceedings? Is that what expanded media coverage means?

If there was a plea deal about to be divulged at a status conference the judge would know and I think wouldn't treat it as less important than an advisement or arraignment. Don't you think?
Lol not checking in the middle of the trial - we finished jury selection and opening statements and thankfully ended early. It was quite the day, to say the least!

I am not sure why the statement keeps being made, that' it doesn't prove or disprove anything. '

Her face turning blue is an important fact. It is very relevant info. Why is it being shrugged off?
That's what I keep asking myself. Its what most of his "story/defense" (ok his entire fabrication, hogwash and spewed lies) is based on. He alleges that he killed his 16 weeks pregnant wife when he saw her strangling the toddlers on the baby monitor. He mentions the color "blue". Very relevant and if this goes to trial it will be brought up.
Edited for a MOO.

Including the original in the quote train because wow. Wow. Devastating, indeed.

"Bolte said when he was recently questioned by FBI agents they accused him of “leaving something out,” which he insists he is not. He also said that lawyers for both the prosecution and the defense had attempted to track him down at his parents’ home in Wyoming.

The Fort Collins man, who works in healthcare, said that law enforcement agents initially reached out to him and that he cooperated with questioning. He said he wasn’t sure how investigators learned of the relationship."

I have been skimming over the TB stuff (assuming we can use his name as he's repeatedly been in MSM as an alleged AP) very lightly as I've taken it with a grain of salt, so I know next to nothing about the man. Therefore I haven't seen much of the detail in this particular article and purposely didn't watch the AB ep but read the recaps.

If much of this is true, it adds to the thoughts that there must be a landslide of digital evidence, and a lot of it won't bode well for CW.

"During that time, Chris Watts reportedly claimed to Bolte that his wife Shanann, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her murder last month, had been verbally and emotionally abusive.

Chris Watts allegedly told Bolte that Shanann “treated him like he was stupid” and made him feel inadequate in front of his children. After Bolte discovered Chris had been dishonest about his family circumstances, he said that Chris “played the victim” and continued to reach out to him, insisting that he was in a bad situation with no idea how to get out."

It is very much worth the read with many details. I still don't know if I give him any credibility at all. But, at least it's something to discuss other than what we've been going rounds about. JMO.
This has me thinking that trolling hook up and/or dating sites as a married man truly opens you up to potential blackmail situations. And I would imagine that is compounded if any of the affairs are with the opposite sex of your spouse and you are otherwise in the closet. I am starting to see a picture of a man who apparently loved to play victim to those who did not well know his wife, claims at least to one VI that he wanted out but SW wouldn't listen, yet he never packed his bags and just left. Never filed papers. It is a very unflattering portrait of his character and that is before the murders. He certainly appears to have had a very secret and very passive aggressive method of dealing with his unhappiness IMO.

Ok maybe they will . I don’t believe every bad thing I have read about CW. I don’t SW having unconfirmed rumors circulated like he did. To me that helps nothing. I don’t believe every bad thing about her, we have no proof of HIV or steroids. Yet it is discussed regularly. That’s fine. It’s a theory. But if the possibility of her baby being not his or her faking lupus is discussed it is bashing right?
No one is a mind reader ( I wish :p) , when I post my thoughts and opinions or the evidence produced so far, it gives others an idea of my position. What's the bad things about SW you don't believe?
SW wasn't a saint, she didn't even portray herself as one, she was very self aware. Who knew the flaws and mistakes she made that she revealed would be held against her? Over sharing on sm is something I've taken away from this tragedy.

To go where I am ( not fully!) you have to go to oh my god I just killed my wife and my kids are dead.

Not thinking well. So everything went nuts.
But not nuts enough to within hours to be lieing to friends and LE. It takes quite a bit of self confidence to lie to the world and think you can get away with it. He was composed, not rattled and according to the friends he stayed with never grieving. You might say that is shock but again able to fu

But not nuts enough to within hours be composed enough to lie to friends and LE, especially after the supposedly horrific death of your children by your wife. There is the possibility he is telling the truth but I think the chances of that are slim.

Exactly.
A pregnant mom's punishment for being active on SM is to have her reputation torn to pieces on the internet after she was murdered alongside her girls by the man who was SUPPOSED to be their protector. Sometimes I wonder who's running the asylum of life. I don't care how much she posted on SM. Her posts were fun, innocent and didn't harm a soul and nobody deserves what happened to her and the toddlers. It makes me SICK to think that anyone could trash the reputation of a pregnant mother whose only crime was to use SM to try to make a living for her family. I'm so glad the mods take such time and effort to keep things clear and clean here.

I think his AP might have had the same job as he did. So neither of them had to be in the office, most likely.
Yep, probably more work "out in the field" so to speak.
MOO.

I'd say both. Few things are more emotional than autopsy reports of murdered children, except for trial of murdered children.

I may be wrong - I think the affair was denied earlier in the timeline.

The timeline IMO is very important.

I agree; the timeline IS very important. The facts regarding it can be read in the affidavit. The affidavit indicates that after a two day investigation, it was revealed CW was actively involved in an affair which he had denied in previous interviews. I am assuming that LE continued interviewing him in attempt to find his missing family after the were called to conduct a well-check?

I don't think it was too much earlier in the timeline? Unless maybe you are wondering/believe CW was being interviewed about having an affair prior to the murders? :)

I would not be surprised if she had a higher position, like a chemical engineer, or something with a higher salary than his. Jmo

I figured court was over. When I'm in the middle of trial I don't have time for anything else. I'm working nonstop getting ready for the next day, fine tuning things, going over statements and testimony questions, making sure all my evidence is in order, double checking my binders and trying to find time to eat and sleep a bit before the next day...and I only do bench trials!!!!
You're superwoman! ;)

In any event, thanks for taking the time. Do you have a response at all? Given the judge's orders has your intuition changed?
