That tells me he has received plenty of death threats.

This would not be right. Much as I don't approve CW's fan clubs, I think that it is not for the civilized people to take law in their hands.

On a personal side - I can understand the policemen, or the refinery workers who had to extract the bodies of the kids, just to go through it is unthinkable. So I bet there are people angry with CW. Still.

I am totally fine with life sentence for him. His family can't be returned back, and for the rest, the lengthy process, more lies and indignity...for what?

I'd like psychologists to work with him, to understand what the heck went through his head when he was killing the daughters. Where the breach in his thinking system is.

Would Solitary Confinement be that you spent your time in your cell, perhaps being able to walk for an hour, outside cell, having an escort?
Would you have access to books, newspapers, cards, studying various topics ie. limited internet?
Would you be allowed limited visitors?
You would be housed and fed.
From what I gather (all learned this afternoon), solitary confinement is a punitive measure, used against unruly prisoners or those who have violated rules. Provided CW behaved himself, he would not be in solitary confinement.

However, there is a form of protective custody that is more restrictive than the norm that would isolate him in the same general manner. This source makes that sound pretty restrictive:
Prison Protective Custody | Zoukis Prisoner Resources
It consists of 23-hour-a-day lockdown in a one- or two-man cell, phone calls one to three times a month, five hours a week of recreation, and limited commissary privileges.

My understanding, though, is that many people not in the general population are in cell blocks that are isolated but still function like prison in that the isolated prisoners have interactions with each other. This apparently can and does backfire sometimes as they still have an opportunity to attack each other.

Bella looks pale and IMO not all that happy. I doubt he was physically hurting them before me murdered them but I believe he was mentally abusive to them in the hours after the party. He’s pure evil and if there is a hell, he has a first class, one way ticket ready and waiting.

Mine too. The page keeps dropping down to a survey before I can read even one comment. Don't know how to fix it. I'm afraid to answer the survey, but it's right at the bottom of this page so if I answer it, will it stop switching me to it? Does anyone know?
I wouldn't answer it MsBetsy, not knowing what it is. When the server gives me issues on my phone like that I log out, close the page, and log back in.

Thank you, I am glad for this. I didn’t know who they were so I did a web search and listened to parts of a recent podcast today.

I don’t know if it’s how they always are, but I ended up disgusted and feeling like I wanted to shower. It didn’t feel very victim friendly in places with a lot of gossipy rumors. JMO.
i am really glad that podcast is not allowed. Ill just leave it there.

Has CW told us or the state what actually happened? Or did he just say guilty to all charges and moved on?

I completely agree! This was also my first thought when learning of CW's plea deal, and questioned whether or not CW might try killing himself before sentencing-- (hoping for the a la Arron Hernandez outcome, i.e., murder conviction abated). Disclaimer: I've no knowledge of impact on Colorado conviction when death occurs prior to sentencing.

I doubt. Aaron Hernandez had a very different emotional/neurological problem. The problem with CW is his ability to self-detach, so even the feeling of remorse might be flattened. We shall see.

But there was a way out called divorce. Yes he would have had to pay child support for years to come but it was an option. He did not have to kill them all.

Considering how this couple was all about appearances, I doubt if divorce was an option for them. They wanted to project this image of "happiness and success," when behind closed doors there was fighting. lack of trust between them and serious financial problems. Given that $90,000.00 was provided as their combined financial income, they were swamped by debt. No way where I come from could they ever have qualified for a $400,000 home. They did not even pay their Home owners assn fees. Who really knows how much $$ she spent a month on her "business,"+ expenses, dinners, travel, etc. She must have spent considerable time away from her children. At some point, I can imagine each of them wanted out of the situation. In trying to look at this from the angle of both C & S, the stresses of all of it must have been building up to take a considerable tole on the marriage itself. It was a tinderbox. Those poor babies. MOO

I hope CW doesn't kill himself, but instead he accepts his new life in prison and IF he is remorseful he can find peace or even happiness for himself by doing good things & good things only.

He won't be able to change the past or present. The future is up to him. He has done enough killing already. He should not add more killing on his resume by killing himself too. He is worth something to somebody.

This is my personal belief and probably a minority view. (I feel this way for all prisoners, not just CW)

Generally, he’d be kept in a cell for 23 hours a day.

He’d be allowed an hour in an enclosed recreational area. It’s a bit like a cage.

Different prisons have varying rules, but he would have access to reading materials, and probably non-contact visits.

After he is sentenced, newspapers will run their usual headline “What Will Life Be Like For Chris Watts Behind Bars?”

We’ll get a better picture then.
We will probably also hear about all the mail he gets each day from his fan club. Maybe they will send him pictures and he'll decorate the walls with them.

I speculate that the autopsy might show that the girls were drugged. Which would immediately show premeditation right? Along with the fact Shanann could not have done it, given he alleged she snapped. There’s his own words working against him.

He may have hoped that even if the bodies were ever found, that the condition would be bad enough that toxicology couldn’t be done.

I dunno. MOO.
Excellent point. I hope he did heavily sedate them so they did not know what was happening in their final moments. That would also help explain additional evidence that pointed straight to his pre-planning. I doubt he sedated SW, but I sincerely hope so as well for her sake.

Well if he truly is bisexual. Then his fan club may have larger numbers.

So Bubba may force him out of the closet sooner or later.

And who knows how much he spent on his running, HIS involvement in the business, HIS trips away and let’s not forget wining and dining his *possibly multiple* AP.

Why are we only pointing out what she *might* have wasted in the family income?

According to the DA, they discussed whether they would have CW explain what happened in court but decided it would be unlikely to be the truth....causing harm to the families and justice. I suspect we will hear more indirectly from CW family sources after the 19th as to his latest "version" of events, with his own spin to again mitigate culpability despite pleading guilty. IMO. He has the opportunity apparently to speak at sentencing. I am doubtful if he speaks that he will try to give his version of events but who knows in this case.

He may actually adjust very well to prison life. He is probably already used to being directed and needing someone to tell him what to do. imo

I think you forgot what CW must have spent on his affair(s), both money wise and time away from his family. SW had been through divorce before and persevered. I doubt she wanted a divorce, but I would not say it was not an option for her. She is a true and innocent victim in this horrific case, IMO. If she weren't, he would not have pleaded guilty to all counts. IMO.

I was under the impression he only "used" the Thrive products, not sold them. I thought his work was with the oil company. I did not realize he traveled for work as well. I surely don't think CW is innocent in any way, he has a boatload of issues to contribute to the failure of the relationship.

omg, that picture is hard to look at, I'm imagining things or reading too much into it, but CW looks different, it's like he's not in the moment, he's in deep thought. Whether he's conceived a plan of action already or unhappy about his circumstances and his face can't hide it, like the picture in NC taken by an observer nearby.
Yep, I know, it's just a pic, a moment frozen in time, I've had one or two of myself where I can see I'm not really 'there', not that I'm planning something sinister, though.

I’ve listened to them and there are many unsubstantiated assertions put forth and speculations that are wholly non victim friendly. It is not a reliable source of information but more of a gossip “sesh” IMO
