To someone like CW, who comes across to me as being a nebbish, a person who is basically just there, not a go getter, and eventually a proven coward, I think prison in some kind of confinement from getting killed will be fine for him. Maybe that sounds too snarky, but for the rest of his life, probably 40+ years to go, he doesn't have to think for one minute how to put food on the table, a roof over his head, provide for other people, smile when he isn't really participating, etc. Free medical. I don't know who pays for the books, but probably he gets access to a library or things sent to him by family and sycophants wanting to marry him.

So I just don't see it as such a bad place for a guy who first of all did something horrible, but secondly will probably do better in prison, if not murdered, than he did on the outside.

That's just how I look at it, assuming he gets books, (tv? internet? mail?) I really doubt he'll kill himself. Just that he needs to look out for others who might want to kill him, and if he is in some kind of protective custody, he will have a decent life. I think he has probably already switched it all around in his mind that one way or another it was all her fault.
ETA do convicted murderers in Colorado ever get conjugal visits? If so, he'll just marry someone with money, to bring him things and get his rocks off once in awhile. I see that in Peru, JVDS got married, either had a kid or is about to, and down there they have regular conjugal visits, even though being a convicted murderer. (Of a Peruvian lady, not Natalee).

A lot to think about in your message! The person you describe in your first paragraph - yes, there are some in prison who are like that. I just don’t think that will be CW. Unless he completely surrenders to every little thing prison requires. And there are lots of other concerns and variables. Depends upon how much he wants to continue to live/exist in that environment. No conjugal visits. He’ll do better than if he was on death row, but it still won’t be pretty at all. He might have a TV, if allowed and someone gives him the money to order one. Or he’ll have to watch one in a big main room where others will fight over what they want to watch. Yes on some books, mags. Yes on restricted mail, and someone will read it all before he receives it. Visitors from an approved list. Medical, but really, for example, prison dentists not great. And on and on and on.

Perhaps it was SW who caught him murdering Bella and Cece on the monitors and she came to defend them, maybe we will never know as the only people who know are him and the beautiful innocent souls he extinguished.
I've wondered if they had previous offhand conversations about the monitors...hey this is so small, how could we tell something is wrong.....well (joking) they'd be blue if something happened....
Just like I think that he probably chose the oil tanks for disposal of his children because of 1) offhand black jokes from co-workers...hey these tanks smell worse than a dead body...yeah, no one would ever find a body out here and 2) his having the opportunity to look around the tanks while alone. I guess that doesn't explain why he left Shan'ann out there on the ground except he ran out of time and was either planning to dismember her for the tanks or take her somewhere else (?)

I didnt think in terms of a pardon. Tex I can say it’s very possible in the realm of being hit by aliens while finishing my coffee, I can’t imagine an application for pardon getting much past an office shredder in a Governors Office.

Even in decades to come, the images of a pregnant Shannan and two girls would prevent any positive action on CWs behalf.

In a few short weeks CW will take one of his final rides in a bus. He will be initiated into a life with no purpose. He has nothing normal to look forward to and the only human touch he will have is from jail staff and inmates just like him. And each will know he murdered 3 innocents and his wife.
Yes, boredom to me would be the hardest thing to adjust to. A living death IMO.

Be sure to read Salt of the Earth by Jack Olsen. One of the best true crime writers.
Thanks, I definitely will, for sure. I read his
Night of the Grizzlies which was not about crime, but was the scariest dang nature/death book I have ever read in my life. Very good author in that case.

Other than that, maybe he killed CeCe accidentally/or in a rage, and killed the other two to try and cover for it. I say this because of what he initially said about CeCe in the first couple of interviews. Plus, the reports of him crying when CeCe was named in court when he was giving his guilty plea. There's something to that.

SBM. I also think there is something about precious CeCe that occurred. Bless her little soul.

Just seeing that little crazy smile, my niece has the same smile. Cece is one of the main reasons I never went thru SW videos unless they ended up here on the thread.

It made me so sad, not more than with Bella, just different.

I don't think there's anything that really happened that night relevant to the baby monitor. It allowed him to say yes all of them were here when I left the house, but no I didn't go into their rooms because that then invites more questions - did you kiss them goodbye, did you say anything to them, why did you go in there, did they wake up, did they get up... through a screen he gets the ability to lie once but not have to stutter over a ton of lies. It allows him to set a boundary and remain in control (again).

Once he had lied about seeing them on the monitor when he left, it was easy to convert that into he saw Shan'ann on the monitor - so I was half telling the truth and it wasn't a complete lie. He thinks any measure of credibility is better than none when he wants them to believe his second lie.

MOO.

The petrol can interests me. I wonder if he was going to set the truck on fire with them all inside. Do we know if it had child seats inside? I know there were child seats in Shan'ann's car but maybe they had them in both vehicles.

That article is dated August 22nd. I'm not discounting it or Frankie's words, but it's hard to know what he thinks now about CW's family. He may still hold the exact same opinion. We don't know. The crime was still very fresh on August 22nd.
Understandably he is still calling CW a '🤬🤬🤬' on his FB page....

I honestly am still curious about what his family thinks at this point. Do they believe that he did in fact do it? Do they think he did but only because SW “pushed him” to it? Do they fall into the camp of folks who think he took the plea but didn’t do it? Etc.

We just don't know. They haven't spoken publicly since the murders, as far as I know. That's certainly their choice and they may have good reasons for it. I will say, though, that denial can be a very powerful thing. I can't get Jackie Peterson out of my mind completely. She died believing Scott had nothing to do with Laci's murder. But she never liked Laci. Laci wasn't good enough for Scott in her eyes. It's hard to know what CW's family thinks unless they make a statement publicly. Maybe one day in the future they will. They are likely still reeling in shock as additional victims of CW.

Well, I certainly can't judge Frankie for that. That seems almost mild to me. I hope Shan'ann's family will get long term therapy and counseling. And I'm glad they have Dieter.

That’s possible , it would mean he’s even more evil than I thought.

I agree and I hope they keep their anonymity , no one else should have to suffer because of his actions. I feel for his family as well as SW’ family.

Remember Bobby Cutts? Ex police officer kills very pregnant girlfriend, (Jessie Davis) (whose baby would have been his 4th dependant) then hides her body with "gross abuse of body" for 9 days. Case was broken because of their 2.5 yr old baby saying "Mommy in rug, mommy broke table, daddy mad" paraphrased. Now Patti Porter, the mother of the slain woman who stood up in court over and over during proceedings, and was staunchly against Cutts, now, some 10 years later, is trying to get Cutts out of jail. And she was successful in arranging for visits between Cutts (in prison) and the young son he left all alone in an apartment after he killed the son's mother and his nearly-born sister.

Not meaning to go off rail here, just that after a decade in jail reading his bible and not acting up, I wouldn't be at all surprised if CW were pardoned (as I think you mentioned before that an ex-going Miss gov pardoned a bunch of murderers) or that family gets together to help him out.

When I think of CW's crime I think of someone in the act of clutter clearing - except in his case the clutter was people. It's like his role as a father and husband came with an expiry date - and he had made room for a new project. No one with love in their hearts could talk about their children after their deaths without showing any emotion. It was like changing the movie in the DVD player for him. Nothing more.

I agree. I can’t imagine what both families are going through.

I didn't think you could if you made a plea deal. Maybe some can and some can't.

IMO, you can make a plea deal for the crime committed, but not for the sentencing. The Prosecuter can say he will recommend no more than ——- to be served, but it ultimately will be up to the judge to determine the length of sentence.

I remember that case very well. I followed every minute of it through the trial. I didn't know about the latest actions.

Scott Peterson is likely going to get his conviction overturned soon due to a technicality involving the jury.

I don't think CW is going to be released from prison due to the terms of his plea. But it will be something to keep an eye on over the coming years.
