The way his father said CW went into a “rage,” and killed her, like a “rage” is something something understandable that we all go into when we catch our spouses strangling our children, and that Chris would die in jail, and who knows what will happen to him in there, I do think they think if he fights he will be acquitted.
I do think that the father is capable of being pushed in the right direction.

I absolutely believe that nothing at all could ever get his mother there.

Didn't OJ coach a prison football team or something in prison in NV? Maybe Chris can coach a baseball team in prison. His mother seems fixated on talking about how he played sports as a child.
For the win :) Best post ever

Magical thinking. Literally.

He's going to have more of a life not being on death row than he would have on death row. He would be really isolated for the rest of his miserable life sitting on death row. Taking the plea will give him a chance at some point to interact with other inmates and do group activities or whatever people do in prison.

Yes. I think in magic mom land, everyone will understand that none of this was CW's fault and he will be allowed to go home and live the rest of his life in peace. That is the only way I can interpret her wanting to 'save his life' given the DP is officially off the table. She means he should have a second chance... presumably with a better wife and new kids who have a mom she doesn't (apparently) disdain.

Obviously, jmo

Somebody mentioned the reviews on that unnamed podcast earlier. I just went to itunes to read them and, unless I'm doing something wrong, it looks like it's been removed from the Itunes store. Wondering if Itunes has had a bunch of complaints.

From your lips to itunes' ears. We can only hope. I'm still listening to "sesh" 14. It feels like it's never going to end. They did mention that HLN plugged their podcast so I have no idea if they are getting more listeners from that.

One thing they do in jail is make license plates.

@MsBetsy, more:

"We were denied contact with our son, from August through October."

“How does he go from a decent person to a killer?” she asked. “If he won’t fight for his daggone self, I will.”

“He was in sports from when he was 5 until 17 years old,” Cindy told the station. “He was normal, he didn’t have a temper, he was just easygoing like his dad. He’s not a monster.”

According to KMGH, the couple claimed their son changed when he married Shan’ann, alleging the couple had an abusive relationship and Shan’ann isolated Chris from his family.

How could SW 'isolate' him from his family? He had a cell phone. He could have called any of his family members any and every day. He worked at least 8 hours a day. How would she stop him from calling home? Or texting or emailing or face timing them?

Who. exactly denied them' contact with their son? If Chris had wanted to call them from jail, during his allotted phone time, he could have. His attorneys could not prevent that.

I think they are lashing out at the wrong people. JMO

It seems she is enjoying going after Shanann, I was right all along attitude, so vile

More from the Watts' original interview.

>"Do you worry about the backlash of a woman not here to defend herself?"

>"Shanann was...you'd have to get to know her to be around her, put it that way".

This comes from the dad, so he isn’t any better than the mom

I'm praying to be wrong but even though the possibility has been giving me nightmares, there is one reason for CW to have taken the Plea: Those babies, one of both awoke after being thrown into the oil and drowned. This would have damaged his assertion that his wife murdered them so badly that he would be forced to cut a "deal".

It makes me want to throw up, but I cannot stop dreaming about it when I close my eyes. (Hence the reason for so little sleep as of late.)

The very thought sickens me!

Oh geez. You miss a day of posts, and look what happens!

Honestly, I wish I could say I was surprised about his family’s behavior. I’m disgusted and angry, but not surprised. It’s telling that it took her so long to even talk about her grandchildren. It makes me so sad that they are getting shunted aside to continue to drag SW through the mud even after CW admitted he did this. Grief makes people act in unexpected ways but this is really unacceptable.

And I seriously doubt there is a letter. That sounds like something they came up with after the plea deal as a desperate bid to take the deal back. Sigh.

Could you sink much lower than bashing the pregnant woman(carrying his child and your grandson) your son murdered? The mother of your grandbabies? And lie about her?

I guess this “letter” was that magical piece of evidence that was hinted at that we would see at trial that. We always wondered why some people supposedly knew something that we didn’t. Must be this letter.

She doesn’t want the actual truth though, just her version of truth to be known and upheld

I believe you're being very generous. CW is a convicted baby killer and pregnant Mamma killer. In the system, you can't get any lower than that so I'd not be counting on too many "group activities" or socializing. He'll literally have a target on his back. MOO

Yeah, it's hard to say how he'll do. Some people say the general belief that baby killers have a target on their backs is overstated. I think if he finds a protector/friend in prison, he'll actually do fine. Maybe he'll find a fellow Tarheels fan or Steelers fan to buddy up with. There will be other baby killers in the prison, too, so he can bond with them.
