Not even why they were driving directly from the airport to the police station for more questioning?:rolleyes::eek:

I agree, NuttMeg. That drive from the airport wasn't silent. And I think CW used the conversation in the car to set the stage for his later "confession" at the police station to his father. The lying liar never stopped lying.
I feel like they talked, but CW was likely saying things how SW left with the girls to punish him, etc. I don't think during that car ride that he told his father that he had strangled SW because she supposedly killed the girls, or that they were strategizing what his story for the police would be. Of course, I could be totally wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. ;) I just didn't get that impression. I think whatever the police said during that next meeting, he realized they had enough on him and he asked to speak to his dad. I think that's the first time he told his father he killed SW. But....who knows.

So, his family was not home at 3.45 pm and he announced that they had 'gone'?
With no car, no phone, nothing for the kids, they were just gone because they weren't home in the middle of the afternoon?

If I remember correctly, the PD and media were there by that time. Covering his butt, in case she had heard this? Thinking back, I'm not sure about media, but I know I already knew she was "gone" by that time.

What is weird is, he’d have to call dad back and see him and say ... hey, you know what I said in the car about her taking off? Actually I killed her instead. That had to be a shocker for dad. Yet he sat there pretty calm and unemotional in the joint interview with Chris’s mom, given months later, and still seemed like they aren’t sure what happened. C’mon man! These people do not seem like they have ever liked or cared about Shanann and the girls.

I think the same as you. I think he asked only his dad to come, because he knew his dad would take his word and not ask him any questions. I think he knew his mom would ask him questions. Questions that he didn't want to answer. She may believe in his innocence but she wants answers. His dad doesn't appear to question anything.

Agree. And we have seen this before in other cases where people will say or text cryptic words like “gone” that can be taken a few different ways. Gone to a play date. Gone on their own accord because she had it with me. Gone because I murdered them last night and dumped them outside of town.

Do we have a thread that is specific about "Family Annihilators"? I was just reading about Jim Jones, this is the 40th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre. Jones meets the criteria of being a family annihilator, he even had his followers call him "Dad".

Sorry for off topic, but I just realized how much he and CW had in common.

For sure. Notice how all the ladies in Chris’s life — his mom, Shanann, NUA, Nichol — all ask questions and try to make/keep him accountable. He doesn’t like that.

Yep, these are the people who want to look at both sides and need more evidence that CW did it, although there is not one scintilla of evidence that SW killed her children.
None. No evidence at all except the word of a confessed killer. I will never understand why people believe him.

I agree. I think if he speaks it won't be honest. As we all know he's full of it. If he talks it will be for his own impression management, to save face.

He had literally no remorse whatsoever in those porch interviews

I think he has lied so much that he no longer knows the truth.

I would really like to know what NK's reaction was to that interview. I think she said it was the next day, after she questioned him at work that she got suspicious and went to police. Imo

That makes sense to me. I think that's probably what happened. Imo

You mean he was full of it. He’ll be scared sh**less when he rocks up to a bigger courtroom that’s packed to capacity, camera set up and a still photographer ... and Mommy Dearest will be waiting for him. Lights, camera, action!
On some level this may be the greatest day of his life. He'll be the complete center of attention, the star. Showtime! I'm sure he'll be scared, and probably angry, and so sad that he was caught. But on some level he will feel fulfilled!

Right, "Chris still didn’t say anything to him, nothing.":rolleyes::rolleyes:

Right after said that was one of numerous times she sucked in her lips. Each time this happened in the interview, it was right after making a statement that I questioned, because it really didn't ring true to me. I'm not an expert body language reader, but this just was my observation.

It also reminded me of what CW did with his lips in the porch interviews.

It's around 8:14 in the video.

Extended Interview: Cindy Watts, Chris Watts' mother, questions son's plea deal

As I’ve mentioned, in the last 2 mass shooting cases LE has said something along the lines of how we can not “rationalize the irrational.”

There is actually a similarity between mass shooters and CW IMO, which is the potentially narcissistic element of blaming someone else for everything and “annihilating” a group. In the case of mass shooters, it can be a certain demographic group (not always) who in the mind of the shooter is to blame for everything. In CW’s case it was his own family, so one element of what is shared between CW and these mass shooters IMO is this outward blaming of others and potentiality to kill, and not just one person (as if that is not bad enough).

I can not help but think about my own man drama past and present as we discuss CW’s infidelities, lies, etc. I have decided that, like with mass shooters, no matter how dissatisfied or angry we are, we would never kill someone else and/or annhilate an entire group of people or family (or even single person).

I guess what I’m saying is that there is a clear and difference between us and them and it is this “line” that is so hard to understand.

I know that CW was likely selfish and wanted them gone so he could continue with his new life, etc, but really, just as we discuss the mental sanity of mass shooters, I really think that something has to be really screwed up in someone’s head to a serious degree to kill your whole family, a pregnant woman, baby girls...how can this be denied? Normal people would never and could never do something like this. There is something within him, like mass shooters, which lends itself to crossing that line into “annihilation”, moo.

Furthermore, all this past talk by some about SW being controlling, etc. So what if she was controlling. All of that discussion is so useless because it does not warrant murder.

For sure. And I think the biggest thing for him is that they are dead and gone. If he were in prison for whatever reason, and his family were still alive, I think it’d drive him nuts. But now he can rest assured they are gone. Let’s see if he can handle prison.

Right. And in his mind his saying they were gone means that's what he hoped NK would think he meant. That they just took off. But I think her intuition led her to believe something more ominous was going on. It probably took her a while to trust her instincts, but by the next day she was likely convinced. Imo

I still wonder who was/is on his visitor list. Maybe a professional of some sort as we’ve said here. We know it’s not his mom, dad, sister, Nichol, the Thayers, or anyone else on the witness list. He doesn’t appear to have too many close friends, and who would want to visit him there, and what would they talk about (since everything is recorded).

Bottom line is CW never seemed sad that his children were dead. Not even a little. That's a big part of why I never could comprehend how someone would be on the fence and buy into his story -- whoever killed "those children," WHERE WAS HIS GRIEF? How could he know his children were DEAD and giggle on camera, and not betray an iota of devastation? It's unfathomable. Something is very, very wrong with him. Sorry to repeat what has been said but when I think of him in the car with his dead, knowing his children were dead and stuffed in oil tanks and not just missing, how could he possibly hold it together? And yes, he certainly seemed angry when the reporter mentioned that his wife was pregnant. He obviously wanted that piece of information to stay hidden.

I swear, that can happen to a person...my ex was like that.
