I absolutely agree with your assessment.

I’m expecting them to adopt a more appropriate tone than they had in their news interviews.

They will almost certainly read from a prepared statement, one that frequently mentions the positive aspects of CW’s life.

We will be taken back to Chris’ childhood, and hear more about him playing sports as he grew up.

Any mention of Shanann will be brief, and the kids will be mentioned more often.

Their statement will still be self centered, minimize CW’s culpability, and reflect on the unanswered questions they have.

He’s still his mother’s “little boy,” and she will express her unconditional love for him.

I expect this statement to still be a bit tone deaf, but not to the extent of their public statements thus far.

When it is done, we will still be left wanting.
I was surprised in their interviews that they did not cite examples of CW's ability to empathize and help people. I would expect if they have been counseled, that their statement tomorrow would try to show CW had led a good life prior to this - trying to humanize him in a way they have been unable to do well to date. IMO

I think that I read only immediate family members.

That is what I was thinking, otherwise it could go on for days. There are many, many, many people that would like to say things to CW.

Thank you. It really doesn't seem real. I have to say, you all here, have kept me sane. Tomorrow is going to be so very hard.
We will all be with you in spirit and praying for you! Shanann was lucky to have a friend like you

I don't see the point though. He obviously wasn't "human", it was a mask. IMO. He was a predator and a beast and a liar ..and and and

That's the kind of thing you say about some in law or relation who has a dramatic past with a criminal record, history of involvement in DV cases as perp or victim, kids from various mates, constant calls to 911 due to unstable behavior, multiple divorce filings and custody battles, etc.

But these people have never been able to come up with anything concrete to indicate Shanann was the unbalanced, dangerous, abusive psychopath they keep trying to claim she was. A little innuendo and rumor here and there but none of that is based in fact.

Crazy.

They can't come up with one damn person except each other to attest to any violent, outrageous, or abusive behavior on her part that would lead to someone saying "What did she do now?"

On the contrary, this dead "maniac" has a core of very good friends who spend a ton of time with her and communicating with her, who have reported nothing but a stable and loving mother and friend, she had a busy business and no reports of anything nefarious there, fellow parents, preschool teachers, childcare providers, etc., none of whom have reported anything but wonderful things about this "witch".

Heck, I believe she's even friendly with her ex and his new spouse!

Yeah. Sounds like a real nut.

I think it's obvious who the real nuts in the situation are.

I had no reason, before the interview, to think that CW could possibly do this. Nothing in any conversation with Shanann pointed me in that direction. None of the mutual friends had any clue either, but that damn porch interview! It was so creepy. A bunch of us came out with the same words. Strange that it was being said about Shanann. She was so sweet, and you are right, I never heard a bad word about her ex. It wouldn't surprise me if they were still friends.

Maybe he has asked, having been appraised of recent media interviews, via his attorneys that his mother not attend? Also, so he doesn't have to face her. IMO
That would be understandable!
MOO

Thank you! Even when you were teetering on the fence, I appreciated your point of view, and understood. :p

Maybe there are no examples of him showing empathy, and helping others.

Thus far, it seems that his entire life has been about CW looking out for CW.

I think they’ll talk about how great a father he was, but unfortunately for them, this narrative will be juxtaposed with what he did to them.

They have an impossible hill to climb, and I just don’t think they’re equipped to even take the first step.

I will go with that the Watts will and have been forewarned to be careful in what they choose or have chosen to say or if they will even speak and maybe their lawyer will speak for them. They are aware of what has been said with their currant statements so far.
If I am wrong and they say negative blaming things there could be a courtroom brawl.
The Judge previously ruled their attorney may NOT address the court. They'll have to designate other or deliver statement themselves.

In sentencings I’ve watched previously, the judge often goes into great detail about what they did and therefore why they’re being sentenced what they’re being sentenced. So we may learn a lot there, plus the DA’s press conference. Then the autopsy reports and down the track the interrogation video (I hope - I really want to see this) and hopefully a digital dump too.

Then stand by for all the Dateline type shows!

The 'interrogation videos' I would love to see.
To see this Creep squirm: initially confident with lies, then all is unraveled.
It should reveal how pathetic CW is.:D:D:D

I'm pretty sure that it was Denver 7 that traveled to NC and conducted interviewed with Cindy in her home. Since they are also the network announcing that "Chris Watts' father is expected to be in court for sentencing Monday," and no reference to Cindy, I think it's better chance than not that she won't be present. And if she is, I don't see her delivering a statement.
I've wondered if CW's sister might speak. We haven't heard anything from her publicly - so, doubtful? MOO

There would have been a moment during those interview when CW realized that he was done, and that his life was over.

I would love to have a still photo of that moment, and hang it on my wall.

That reminds me of something Cindy says in her interviews...she says she was not at all worried when SW and her small grandchildren went missing AT ALL because she was sure SW had taken them away to “punish” her son. Yet, in another interview she says her son could never kill his children and that’s SW was dangerous and she believed her son that she killed them. So, which is it, Cindy? If SW was so unstable, dangerous, why did you have not a care in the world that your grandchildren might be unsafe off with her if she was trying to punish your son? Huh? I find this revealing that I am sure she did not consider SW dangerous NOR capable of hurting her own children until her son “confessed” SW killed them to save himself. Then, Cindy remembers SW as someone who could definitely do this. Nice. Hope this makes sense as I try to type this out with my thumbs on my phone! :)

Exactly! One of my first thoughts when the case broke (still only on FB), was whether the mom went nuts and took the kids somewhere to kill.

That was before I got to know Shanann through her true friends and loved ones.

So they didn't have that immediate thought about an insane, "dangerous" witch?

Of course not. Because she was none of those things? Perfect? No. But a decent person, a hard worker, a devoted and loving mother and a committed and supportive sister, daughter and friend.

I’ve mentioned this before that I keep thinking about what if all of them were never found and there was little proof and no confession? It gives me great anxiety to think about this, especially being a local.

Who knows what the discussions would be like here today and I think chances here would be that we would have been more divided. And we would have been here for years. I never would have stopped wondering what he did with them, assuming I presumed him to be guilty.

It would have driven me absolutely bonkers nuts wondering of local places he could have disposed of them.

I also think about what if this never happened, would we ever have crossed paths? In the gym? Through my work? I also wonder if we ever ate at the same restaurants, attended the same local events or festivals, etc and never knew it. I wonder if CW and NK went for a drink where I might have gone, local breweries, etc. Lastly I shudder to think about if I met him at the gym or bar, and if he hit on me and fed me all the same BS he did NK, I might have fallen for it. Other women I know here said the same. This scares me. (Lately I’ve been into the “cleaner cut” type...)

I am grateful that tomorrow will we will see important resolution in the best way possible, despite the obvious fact that nothing will ever bring Shanann, CeCe and Bella back and her family will have to live with one of the deepest pains anyone could possibly ever suffer, the murder of their precious daughter and three little grandchildren.

When you're writing your post, click on the smiley on the toolbar at the top. A row of emoticons will appear at the bottom. MOO
