Aurora theater victim’s father: Christopher Watts’ sentencing not necessarily closure for victims’ family
There are few people who personally know the pain of losing a loved one in such a sudden and sinister manner, but Tom Sullivan is one of them. His son, Alex, was shot and killed in the Aurora theater shooting about six years ago.

“It's a lifelong emotional roller-coaster of trying to mend a broken heart and trying to find some way to fill the soul that is leaking out of you every day,” Sullivan told FOX31.

Sullivan is talking about this now because another family, Shanann Watts’, is fraught with that familiar heartbreak.

His criminal case is quickly closing, but for Shanann Watts’ family, that doesn’t necessarily mean closure.

“That whole part when people say, ‘I just want to get over this…’ well, my response to that is: You're not going to get over this,” Sullivan said.
What kind of special idiot would tell someone they would get over that? You never get over that terrible loss. All you can do is very slowly adapt to life without them.

Agreed. For me it’s about justice, but also about filling in some of the blanks.

We’ve been following this case for a few months, and many of the answers that we have been seeking will all come at once.

That just doesn’t happen with any regularity.

I just hope that everything goes as planned, and we get close to the truth.

I'm not sure how many blanks will be filled in during sentencing. The most interesting things may be during Rourke's presser afterwards.

I keep seeing that, but the moment the autposies were given to them they started begging for a plea. What would other charges have achieved then ? I am anxiously waiting to see the reports. IMO he knew hell would be unleashed on his head once the reports were public. It has to be an even more gruesome cause of death, or sexual abuse. I will happily be proved wrong though....
That's what I meant. LE seemed to "have him over a barrel" on some things or he would never have plead his life away. You would think. But so much of this case, most of it in fact, is SO SENSELESS.

I don't think anyone would really say that 'You will get over it', maybe they said 'Time heals' and it was too soon to say that.

Agreed. I think that press conference is going to be where we learn the majority of the answers.

I hope the DA has plenty of time, because it could take a while if the reporters do their job.

In one of last weeks interviews Mrs. Watts said CW has 2 best childhood friends. I wonder if we’ll hear anything from them.

According to these people the lighthearted sarcastic comments I sometimes make to my husband would make me a target for a justifiable murder. Baffiling really.
This!! I swear according to some my husband should have murdered me a long time ago. I have no idea when people started making up asinine reasons to kill. It's really a sad commentary on our society.

With Christmas fast approaching, maybe Mommy Dearest will get him a new fave T-shirt with "Jailhouse Rock" emblazoned across the front.

If he did “bad things” to the girls why would the Prosecution want the autopsies sealed, but the Defense didn’t care one way or the other?
Each time we asked that it was said that it made finding a jury more difficult.
It could taint the jury pool.
The defense said it didn't matter because their client was not going to get a fair trial anyway. A bit of petulance, but they might have just been bluffing.

Probably not. I’m guessing that they were the imaginary kind.

Or sock puppets.

She said they were still his friends to this day. But.... There was a lot of magical thinking going on in that extended interview.

Anyone else have some "very important meetings" they have to attend tomorrow where they had to cancel any and all other commitments for a certain time period? ;)

That would have been added to the charges if that were so.
I was thinking more along the lines of what he did to their deceased bodies to fit them in the oil tanks.

I'm not sure about "bad things" but I will guess that at that point. they knew they were going to try for a plea deal. JMO

Really! The possibilities are all so awful.

I’m super shocked that this biased and unprofessional “media” production has imploded in such a childish manner. Not.

I guess when the motives are nasty and the behavior is nasty, the outcome ends up being nasty.

Jmo.

I'm not at all surprised they turned on one another.

You are correct about party on Sunday. Party had made room for a bouncy castle, and he reportedly helped return furnishings prior to going to Thayer's (to spend the night). I believe that was on Tuesday.

That seems so odd to me. If my friend's wife and kids were missing, and the police were called in to try and help find them----would I ask that friend to help me move a Bounce Castle that night? ...weird time to ask for a favor like that, imo.

Ahem.....yes,,,,,and I've got the crockpot ready to go so my very important meetings will not be disturbed. ;)

You mean you would think he would want to PRETEND to want to stay there in case they were found or came home. He knew they would do neither because he killed them.

Is there any kind of memorial planned for Shan’ann, the girls and Nico in the community in the future? It would be lovely to have a little play area in their memory.
