Strangely, when I googled something this morning before signing on here, that exact picture randomly popped up in the images I was googling! I now am convinced CW was behind staging that picture. Creeps me out! He truly is a sick sack of ****.
I always thought she took the picture and posted it, writing, I don't even know what to think of this! It was posted on here with the message a long time ago. I think it's just an eerie coincidence. Although he was stupid, he was very secretive and all his actions were so deceptive I don't think he would have thought to do something like that. He was too busy lying and fooling people. It would have been too obvious. Imo

Just read the news this morning about the sentencing yesterday. As I'm sure has been said by many others, I was surprised the read (on CNN) that Shanann was killed first. Maybe the plan was to only kill her and claim she never arrived home. Maybe Bella woke up and saw what was happening and then he decided he had to kill them all.

So very glad he will never see outside those prison walls again.
Did the DA confirm that Shanann was killed first? I thought he said we will probably never know. Imo

OMG, I hope not. I just think he was too much of a wimp to face having to look in their eyes. He wanted it done but wanted to do it with as little confrontation as possible. Imo

Yes that is what I want to believe and also that they never knew what happened.

I AGREE. How could she possibly say that. He was a 'good father'?
She never said a word that implied, to me, that she was accepting that he killed the girls. It was all passive voice as before, something that just happened to the them and him. She just toned it down and, IMO got some very good coaching on how to say he was innocent without actually saying he was innocent.

I know others here don't agree with me, but both the parent Watts used, IMO, the words "I forgive you Son", as a code phrase to tell him they still believe his original story. One of the original stories, that is.

He said because of the manner they were disposed in and how long after death that they were found we would never know

Yes, they may not have had many thoughts at all because of the natural bodies response to suffocation. It's an automatic reaction to fight and struggle for a breath. Usually there is a lot of kicking and thrashing around. It is said that the person feels intense terror, and it is an agonizing death. They probably had no time to think. The only consolation is that they are at peace now.

I don't know. I was just going by what I read in the CNN article, which said he strangled his wife, "then" suffocated the girls. I guess we will never truly know, though :(.

True, and during that infatuation period it is very easy to miss the red flags. Even when they are there you don't see them. She is probably looking back and realizing them now. Imo

They say “love is blind.” Or at least infatuation is.

Thanks, I understood it to mean the bags were there as she was found. My brain can't function properly with this case it seems!

You are doing just fine.

I had a very big high truck F350 and it was to high to fit into a garage. I never saw a picture of CW's work truck but did see those Anadarko pick-ups all over when I was out there visiting but do not remember their sizes and I think they were white with the company name. Those big companies have all kinds and sizes of trucks so my conclusion is the work truck he had was not able to fully fit into the garage or he would have backed it all the way in.
I believe Colorado 303 said somewhere above that many of those tapes might be released in the future.

Did Chris Watts not know the neighbors had cameras?

Good Morning all,

I kept on waking up last night and seeing CW do his dead man walking shuffle out of the courtroom. I have no idea why that is what was playing in my dreams and I am thinking that everything else such as SW and the kids, the family were to horrid a thought to stay in my mind. With all the media these days and what we see and have access to cases like this are so horrific.
I could never be LE or anything to do with that line of work. I could never keep my composure, I could never keep myself from being civil to a person that has done something so utterly vile. It takes a special breed that is for sure.
A defense attorney no way, especially if you know they are guilty as sin. Unfortunately I think it will take some time to get over this as it has with a couple of other cases I have followed. They tend to leave scars.

You should talk to Margarita.

I think he knew but not that they were aimed directly at his driveway. According to what I had read here, the neighbors had changed the angle only days before the murder. Imo

Just getting up so I apologize if this is a repeat. MRS had to shut down their SM page due to the onslaught of bad reviews :)

I so was enjoying reading the reviews last night and watching their rating slide from 4.8 stars down to 4 stars. Then when I went to check it out this morning it was gone. Sad! :D:D:D

Four stars! I wouldn't even think they would have a half star, everything I heard about them was that they were horrible and full of misinformation, and down right lies. What the heck was their source? I thought they made everything up. Imo

This has been talked about a few times on here and we really have no way of knowing if he did or not. Sometimes they are hard to see or people kind of hide them.

Wow I must have missed that, if I remember correctly wasn't it the house across the street and kind of at a kitty corner angle?

I think she accepted that he killed them but I think she still believes Shanann is responsible. I know I am nitpicking but her statement “we can’t imagine what could have led us to this day” implies there was a trigger, something made him do it. Idk, maybe not, but my instant reaction to that statement was nothing, nothing led to this day other than Chris’s depraved /twisted mind.

Thank God for the neighbors changing the angle of their cameras a few days before the murders.
Talk about divine intervention!

I have to say when CW mother said how much she loved and forgave him, I felt sick. that was so inappropriate. It is pretty telling what kind of family they are- at least mom--an enabler.

This has been eating away at me as well. It's not that I feel it was inappropriate that they forgive him, I get that. They are his parents, and of course they love him and want to forgive him. I am of the mindset that forgiveness most benefits the person forgiving, rather than person being forgiven, and if forgiving him brings them some comfort I am glad of that.

However.

One does not need to verbalize their forgiveness to another, when it is for themselves. And it is very clear that their need was for CW to know that he was forgiven. And in this context yes, especially given who was in attendance, it felt very inappropriate.

I think that, whether they came to it themselves, or they had help, that the Wattses have come to realize that this may very well be the last time they ever speak to their son. It has become painfully obvious over the past couple of weeks that he does not wish to speak to them. I think this was their way of saying goodbye, in a sense, this was what they wanted him to know, in the event that they never talk to him again.
