To me that's not a mystery. He didn't strangle her immediately. He waited for the perfect opportunity, when he was ready. We already know he didn't go into a rage after an argument. That is clear, without a doubt. Imo

Twice in my life I have been like that. Once driving thru a canyon fire. Flames on both side of road. Thought I was going to die. Other was first time having a baby. When reality set in at hospital that this was gonna hurt like hell and that breathing crap was nonsense.

I don't think the DA indicated that he used his hands. Just that they were smothered and Bella fought back. That's the reason he gave for her injuries. She likely tried to open her mouth to breathe or scream, imo. If he used his hands he could have been bitten. I suspect he used something, like the pillow. Maybe that's why he threw out the pillow cases. Imo

Yes, probably the most uncomfortable moment of his life. He never struck me as a strong, brave, or confident man. He was a coward and he was shaking in his britches. Like a baby. He knows full well what will happen to him in prison. There is no way he was just putting on on a show for sympathy. He doesn't want sympathy, he wants his life back. Or rather his new life that he was so excited about. If he was so bad at acting worried or being concerned during his interview then why would he do so much better in court? His trembling with fear was real, and it's a good thing. If he had been arrogant and emotionless in court than we would have to assume he wasn't bothered by what is going to happen to him. At least we can be assured that he is suffering for his actions. That alone gives some satisfaction. Jmo
A question that can be added to your list is: "Why didn't SW, Bella, and CeCe have on pants?" The autopsy results indicate that all three had on just tops and underwear---not nightgowns---just tops: a butterfly top on Bella, a T-shirt for CeCe, and a T-shirt and bra for SW. No pants means all three were not wearing shorts or pants to bed, or each had them removed post-mortem. Just think this is a bit odd for all three. Was it to enable getting them down the oil-tank hatch more easily? If so, why then would SW not have on pants?
That's what I suspected. I was confused because there were pages of debates about why she wanted her girls in another school. A poster who is no longer here really tried to push that rumor by quoting the VI's answer over and over again. Imo
Rourke mentioned “financial concern here and there that most of us have,” in this interview and at the press conference as part of the motive. I’d love to hear what CW told them. We’ve got to get our hands on those interview transcripts.
Exactly. It started as a fact and then "Flourished" into some kind of evidence against Shanann.
I think we were all right about the motive. Some thought it was financial reasons, some that he just wanted to be rid of them, some said it was because of the mistress. I think it was a combination. All of these things, in his mind, led him to the murder of his family. Jmo
But why wouldn’t we want to know? That is one of the most damning pieces of evidence to prove his guilt.
