Forgive me if someone else has posted this...I call BS. (From the advocate reading the statement of the Watts to the court during the sentencing hearing) Since when has he not had the "full opportunity" for a confession? Since when is the "responsibility" a foggy issue?

"My clients indicate that they understand that a full opportunity for a confession with all the responsibility and accountability has not occurred. And they support the family in their request that that happen if not today, at an appropriate time and in an appropriate manner so that everyone can have peace. To understand to the best of their ability the details that they need...."

about 14:50

IMO that meant, "the DA met with my clients last night and shared a ton of evidence, video, text and autopsy details that showed their son is a brutal murderer and complete liar, but they still need to hear in his own voice and his own words what Shanann did to make him do this, because he's a good boy and he would never."

Ya know what bothered me about the sentencing was when the Watts' said Shanann was their daughter. I don't think they had the right to say that. They didn't really even acknowledge her as such in life so...IMO

Yes. That bothered me too. Kudos to her mom and dad for not standing up and telling them not to dare claim her now when they couldn't in life and after death until that very moment. They had no right. Zero.

The narcissist developed his self-importance to compensate for feelings of inadequacy. That is my rudimentary understanding of it anyway. I think what I saw in court was a stripped back and laid bare narcissist, receiving all the hatred that he originally felt before he adapted himself and developed the skin of the narcissist. It is all about him still, not what everyone else has suffered and is experiencing. So I don't think the self-loathing is connected with a realization of what he did, I think it is just him coming to terms with his exposure and no coping mechanism.

MOO (for the time being)

I think we were all right about the motive. Some thought it was financial reasons, some that he just wanted to be rid of them, some said it was because of the mistress. I think it was a combination. All of these things, in his mind, led him to the murder of his family. Jmo
CW was going to fancy restaurants and planning posh vacations with his AP, but felt too much pressure to find a way to pay for preschool for his children? I despise this man.

I thought my ears were playing up and I misheard. I was going to go back afterwards and see if I was wrong but haven't been able to work up an appetite for it yet.

He is too stupid to get a credit card in his own name so his wife won't see his charges for luxurious dinners for 2?

Could be hubris on his part. Has been able to lie his way out of and through everything in life so thought he could do it then too and believed his wife stupid enough to buy it

I think he was hoping to be caught and hoping Shan'ann would say, ah you've met someone new, okay then, see ya.

Yes, it could have been a big middle finger, as you allude to. Looked at the bank charges himself, maybe saw amazon charges for self help books, and right below it puts a "screw you" charge at a fancy restaurant.
Geez, at least get a cash advance, take it from the ATM, unless you "want her to see it". IMO

Makes sense. At times he looks pissed to me as well. Like when Frankie Jr goes up to the podium, he looks up and just looks so angry. Still feeling sorry for himself and blaming everyone else I would imagine...
Yes, I'm sure he feels anger, fear, hopelessness, and depression. Probably what he meant by being devastated. What he likely does not feel is empathy or sympathy towards the victims and the families. Although the shame that he has brought upon his family is probably killing him. Jmo

There is a lot that DA Rourke didn’t share in the press conference, or have to share. Yet he made a point to let everyone know that NK wiped her phone of photos and texts from Chris before she came into the police station. I bet she did that Monday afternoon or Tuesday. It would only have been a mattter of time before LE contacted her. Rourke didn’t have to say that. He could have simply stayed with she was interviewed, and there were texts and photos. And left it at that. No matter what anyone says, it was a small jab. And what was LE able to get off Chris’s phone? And Shanann’s phone? Who knows.

Ah, the old forcing the hand trick. Rarely works but oft tried...IMO

I keep trying to watch again, but I can’t, it’s too painful. I’m feeling really angry about this today. How could he? Poor Shanann. Poor Bella and Celeste. He murdered them.

Yes, he is either that too stupid or doesn’t give a damn.

But why wouldn’t we want to know? That is one of the most damning pieces of evidence to prove his guilt.
And it was twisted onto something else, to create a distraction from the truth. It's not that we wouldn't want to know, it's because Colorado knew she could not reveal what she suspected until after the sentencing. Imo

Do we know where CW will be serving his time? I just checked VINE and it says in custody at Wells County Jail.

The VI couldn’t tell us because while she had the inside info about CW calling the school she wasn’t exactly sure when, before or after he killed them. She didn’t want to give out any evidence that could harm the case. It was one of the most damning pieces of evidence which is why she wasn’t able to share it with all of us. When she said “do you really want to know” (not sure of her exact words) it was in response to a CW supporter who kept questioning why Shanann had switched schools. So basically her way of saying “Do you really want to know that it was actually your boy CW who called the school?” IMO

I think when they move him we will know. The media will be sure to get a picture. There will probably be a whole segment on the prison and what life there will be like for him. Imo

So Shanann never switched the girls schools, that rumor started because of Chris’s phone call?

That is what I understand.

But why wouldn’t we want to know? That is one of the most damning pieces of evidence to prove his guilt.

If I understand correctly, those who knew the truth about Chris’s phone call did not answer publicly until after sentencing was over because they - quite rightly - did not want to do anything to jeopardize the case.

I’ve never been a VI. I have occasionally had “behind the scenes” or private information in other cases before it’s been released publicly or published by media. Sometimes it’s hard to keep quiet when one sees erroneous information being dissected and/or being blown out of all proportion/speculated on, but one HAS to be very careful not to mess up any investigation.

I think he was probably being more blatant about his dalliance. Shanann wanted to work on their marriage. CW was over it. Maybe he thought he could push her to the point of throwing in the towel. This may explain something else that I couldn't believe... the NK said they spent time together something like 4-5 days a week! How does a married father of 2 pull that off?

It is so heartbreaking to me that the fact that she wanted them to work on their marriage was likely the catalyst for their deaths.
(NOT victim blaming... I am speaking more to his state of mind. She wouldn't just give it up - he had no choice!)

Right, then the quote, " trust me, you don't want to know" was quoted over and over until it flourished into, "OMG, maybe the mistress had her kids enrolled there!" Or some mysterious, nefarious reason that proved Shanann was the controlling manipulator who planned to kill her kids and run off or something. Another example of distracting from the truth and shining the light on the wrong person. Imo
