Yep, I compared her to Amber Frey too until I saw the documents and heard from the DA that she was “somewhat forthcoming.”I think SW’s social media presence is a huge difference too. SW put her whole life on social media for all to see-including NK. I totally think several of SW’s last videos were for any of CW’s love interests to see...hoping they would walk away...but NK did not want to do that..
I think the significance to the comparison to Amber Frye is important in under standing the motive. Scott Peterson, like Chris, claimed he had never met anyone like Amber. He was obsessed with her. His wife, like Shanann, was about to have a baby. Until that point he saw her as a sexual, beautiful woman. But once she was about to have a baby, he associated her as more of a mother.
Nichol resembled Shanann. Maybe she reminded him of his wife before they began having children.
I believe in his mind Nichol was the woman he always wanted. He idolized her and was willing to do anything to have her. Just like Scott Peterson.
To me the relevance has nothing to do with the way each woman acted after the murder. It is the similarity in the motive, the fact that each woman played a role in the killers decision that the "other woman" was worth killing his family for.

its interesting how things roll.
there is starting to become a divide amongst us about Nicole.

my stance.
she was a co-habitator in destroying the watts marriage, that's fact.

the resentment toward her is fair.

I don't support any posts that paint her as a victim.

jmo

I don't think she was a hero. I don't want to be her friend. I think she engaged in some questionable acts (ie., lying to LE and to us, the public as well as deleting her texts and images). The only thing I've spoken out against is generalizing her activities as somehow being sexually deviant. Her Googling anal sex is not on par with him killing his kids, though it's been alluded to. I think we have many other things to discuss, nefarious acts like lying and killing and hiding evidence and generally being evil minded without resorting to generalizing the mistress' sex habits as being awful. Some of her other activities, sure. Watching 🤬🤬🤬🤬?Not so much.

If you are both still duking it out, can you move your one on one conversation to a private thread or ignore each other or something? Maybe join a virtual Outward Bounds-like team-building program somewhere and come back as BFFs ? Nothing personal--I enjoy each of your posts and I'm not taking sides. Mods, delete this if it's inappropriate.
I think Johnny has left the building :)

I have never bashed her. A lot of this is in the discovery pages. They did have a court date for not paying their association fees. I think they were clearly in debt and this was a huge stressor for him. Their house note was $2800 and they had lots of medical bills. He didnt make that much money and her income was somewhat questionable too. And a new baby on the way... they were in way over their heads,
Where in the discovery? All we know about the HOA was that they owed dues and a hearing was scheduled. It could have been a dispute. I went through that once, I withheld dues in a dispute over work they demanded. I had no financial problems and wasn't behind. Shamans income was not questionable, she was in a high tier in her organization with high sales and got bonuses and perks.

How do you know they were way in over their heads? What part of discovery was this in? So they had an HOA meeting. I've had one over work that was demanded I have done and I didn't pay my dues until things were settled. And I wasn't having financial difficulties. Like @Jennifer17 said; CW was spending a lot of money. CW, the murderer. If finances were a stressor you can be sure CW created the problem. Probably more of his manipulation. SW did spend money on books to try and save her marriage, I guess that could be a stressor!

Question, have any media Outlets put up the direct link to the first document dump? Or are they all Doling it out little by little with their interpretation.

Also, what happened to the video people that were linked before in keeping up with this case? Have they not done any updates or have they just not been linked?
that's a funny question, I notice that the articles all say something like Here's the latest on the 2,000 pp that we (fox4, newsrag 5) were able to obtain!!!!! But no link.

She is and was never a vicitm. But I think she would be replaceable. It could have been any other woman/man/alien Chris wanted to start a new life with and he had killed his family anyway. I don't "like" her - I do not support her, she had an affair with a married man and a father. That fact alone doesn't make her very likeable. At least not to us other woman, who are wifes and mothers as well :D.
But unless she didn't forced him to kill them all (even then it would have been just him who acted out the crime) she can't be blamed for it. Even if this affair was some kind of catalyst. Something wasn't "right" in Chris' mind and he could probably hide it for a long time very well, until he met Nichol and fell in love with her.

They are still very angry with NK and he says his family is not done seeking justice yet.
Does Frankie's post specifically mention NK? I know they are furious at some media outlets and people who told out-right lies about SW publicly. I have never heard them talk much about NK one way or the other.

SHE didn't file for bankruptcy on her own. They did it together.

If finances were a huge stressor for him then he could have, I don't know, maybe not have taken his mistress to expensive meals several times a week. Not taken her on a weekend getaway to the Dunes. He didn't have to look at Audis. Or jewelry.

No. He says “the mistress.” He thinks that she knows more than she is saying and is trying to get a book deal.

Frankie’s a smart man, in addition to all the other accolades he is deserving of.

I’m glad social media wasnt around then too...but she didnt have to only believe what CW said. SW put their life on public display on fb...NK didnt have to just take his word...SW’s videos were so telling....
Honestly, didn’t she see Shanann’s sweet personality, the love she had for her husband and children and her unborn baby, her strong work ethic, her kindness and support of her family, friends, neighbors and business associates?
She was a beautiful girl, neat as a pin, her children were happy and healthy, she kept a lovely home, and adored her husband. How any woman could contribute to breaking up that beautiful family is beyond me. Nicole had some very big shoes to fill in taking Shanann’s place.

No, it does not and it is a disservice to him to say that it does.

This article has the Scribd link: Documents: Shanann Watts' mother suspected Christopher Watts of using oil to dispose of bodies shortly after disappearance

By video people, do you mean the podcasters? If so, I think they went down in flames after most of their claims proved to be BS.

Thats not bashing her...I spend more myself than I should...Neither one of them made enough to be living like they were. She had already filed for bankruptcy once and they were being sued for not paying their homeowners fees... There is never an excuse for murder! I absolutely think their finances( her spending and His) were a major stressor and played a huge part on why he didnt just divorce her instead of murdering her! He looked at apartments, saw how expensive they were and knew he would have a difficult time paying child support and having a place of his own and buying jewelry and taking his mistress on trips!
Ahem. . . .she didn't file bankruptcy, THEY did! She sold HER house in NC to move to Colorado with him.

This is the same Jeremy that Chris' mother called up on the phone to complain about Shanann. I'm taking his assessment of Shanann's character and motivations with a large shaker of salt.

Is it the same Jeremy that criticized Shan'ann for the way she pronounced HER OWN NAME?
Crikes, what a fool.

i totally dont think she deserves all the blame. But, she was 30, you were 19...a lot of growing up normally done between 19& 30. My daughter is 22. If she met a guy she was attracted to, i know she would immediately research his social media. If she saw SW’s page that would be the end of it...SW posted sooo much..it was so much more than most post.
Oh, I knew my boss was married and had 2 young children. But he told me a bunch of lies. 'She was mean and cold and didn't love him, just wanted his money and they are divorcing soon, and he doesn't want to hurt the kids, so he stays to protect them from their cruel mummy', etc etc...

CW probably told her the same crappp. So seeing her FB wouldn't mean anything.

I have read so many things abt their bad financial situation. I dont have anything definite to link but I have seen a lot...I think Ashley Banfield said one of their accounts had $10 in it. I also read they were several months behind in their monthly mortgage and were abt to go to court for not paying their homeowners. The night he murdered her she tried to purchase some hair products online and her credit card was declined. I think i also read something abt her friends buying her dinner in AZ and the one that dropped her off at her house loaned her some cash...Crazy to me that she was planning a trip to aspen with CW and had enrolled the girls in an expensive private school...she seemed like such a smart lady but they obviously they were living way above their means...and with another baby on the way....I think this was a major stressor to CW and a huge part of why he did what he did. I dont think they wanted their families to know their life wasnt perfect... Sadly, it clearly wasnt what she portrayed it to be on social media.

1. We have no idea who tried to purchase the hair care products. It could have been CW.
2. She thought they were planning the trip to Aspen together. Instead, he was planning it with his mistress.
3. She did not have the girls enrolled in a private school all on her own, her husband was involved in the decision.
4. CW was spending lots of money on his mistress-to the point where SW was becoming suspicious.
5. CW was the one on Groupon and online planning the trip to Aspen.
6. We have records of SW texting CW about parking in a cheaper lot to save money.
7. Nobody's life is as perfect as they make it appear on social media.
8. They were behind on their mortgage back in February. She died in August.
9. When she died, they had a combined $3,500 in their accounts, not $10. That was from when they declared bancruptcy 2-3 years before.
10. He was a free spender himself. Not sure why he's getting a pass.

Okay, I had an assessment for nonpayment of fees because the HOA wanted me to replace the buckled sidewalk in front of my home. We reached a compromise and I paid the fees. Do we know that they couldn't pay the fees?

BYW, haven't read all the docs yet, mostly because it tears me up, but good work finding it. Thanks.

I don't believe that he had ever gotten away with it, even if he had had plenty of time for covering everything up. He made too many stupid mistakes. And it would not have taken too much time that other people ( other friends, family members) would have noticed that Shannan and the children apparently had disappeared into thin air. If I remember it correctly Shannan stayed in contact with her mum on a daily basis at least regularly. Chris didn't have the brain and the skills for the perfect murder - in my opinion.
I agree that he is a very stupid man but without a body, a weapon, physical evidence or DNA, a man guilty of having an affair isn’t going to convict him of murder. IMO.
