I am wondering if SW's family can get some kind of restraining order or court order to not allow CW's family or mistress to profit off of a book deal. Unless it is a book that is honest about the issues in the family and all proceeds go to a non profit or a foundation in SW's name. Dylan Klebolds (Columbine Shooter) mother wrote a book about how she worked so hard and struggled to reconcile her son with his actions. It took her YEARS and a lot of work. It was beautifully written , heartbreaking....and all proceeds are going to mental health organizations. A Mothers Reckoning.

I am greatly disturbed by how CW's family treated SW. They are toxic people and have projected all of their awful behavior onto SW. It speaks volumes and is a great indicator of how CW became a monster. Clearly, IMO, CW was very skilled at hiding things. The secret calculator, the lies, the using of gift cards he hid from his wife to finance his affair tells me he has done this before. <modsnip - rumor>

With all this ugliness portrayed by this family in the past, which has now been made public, I would think they would now keep quiet, move.
If they do seek financial rewards with book deals and TV appearances, they would be frowned on, even more.
Their lives are miserable.
No matter how much money they 'make' from this tragedy, they lose.

Exactly (the sheet & Bags) and that is why I think they are in a dump somewhere. The land is flat as a pancake where those tanks are and even if they did "blow" away they would have got caught in the brush.
Unfortunately we will most likely never know what he did with them but my guess is he dumped them in a dumpster.

You're probably right that we will never know. CW is full of contradictions-- on the one hand there is evidence he premeditated this crime, on the other hand he was very sloppy and didn't have a good story ready at all. Thank goodness he wasn't smart enough and/or didn't have enough time to put Shanann's purse and phone and the girls' medicine wherever he put the stuffed animals and blankets.

See I missed that, I need to read the docs again as they were so mind boggling!!! Yes it is amazing that he did not take her cell and all the other stuff but I think he planned on coming home and then doing a cleaning out.
He had no idea that her friend would have acted as fast as she did in trying to locate SW and the kids. It blew his cleaning up to hell at that point.

And CW told NUA not to call the police and to leave the property.... I am sure he had a plan. Thankful for NUA and her other friend Cassie.

I believe the blowup with CW's parents while Shanann was visiting was an underlying cause of the murders. He has his idealized version of life with his girlfriend, after being "free" for 5 weeks. Then he gets a huge smack of family dysfunction and discord that his wife, justifiably, wants him to take care of. He has his own subterfuge, his "interesting person" mother pushing him one way, Shanann pushing him the other way. It was interesting to me that on 8/13 (iirc) one of his searches was for volcanoes. For most of this case I had "volcanic eruption" running through my head-and I end up seeing that in the discovery. I am in no way excusing him or believing that he didn't deliberately and cruelly murder his beautiful family. I just (after reading all of the discovery) believe that the extended family dynamics were part of the catalyst for this crime. moo

100% agree. His searches for volcanoes were on Sunday. He even saved a photo of the volcano. Less than a day later, his own subconscious volcano erupted.

It looks like to me there were three big underlying cause for the volcano eruption.

Are they so moronic they don't realize what decent humans think of people who not only mistreated their DIL in life, but also disparage her in death with THEIR SON as her murderer? I am so disgusted by their behavior I don't even have proper words to describe it. Evil is just too bland a term for these creatures. Um, dense? Karma needs to keep happening here. JMOO.

Just keep quiet.
Unless, they now want to publicize their side, so everyone understands.

I keep checking to see CW's status. It appears he is still in the custody of Weld County and has not yet been processed in the DOC facility. I am looking forward to the new mug shot.

They are probably trying to figure out where to put him so he will be "protected".

I still have some questions that aren't answered by the discovery docs.

I don't think I've seen any mention of the footprint on the bag. What time Shanann's phone was turned off. Whether they found prepared school bags for the Monday anywhere in the house. A report from Jayne the cadaver dog handler (I think that one is missing - although others present made reference to what they observed). What activity there was on Vivint after 4:23am. Which video camera showed him loading their bodies into his truck, because the neighbor's camera couldn't pick up activity inside the garage.

I'm sure there's more but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.

I wonder if he planned on using SW's phone to text her friends and make excuses to cancel her day but maybe she had recently changed the password? He didn't know her password was her due date but NA knew that. Maybe SW did that on purpose and told NA the new password to her phone just in case something happened to her? I don't think SW suspected CW was going to murder her and her babies... but she was a pregnant woman who was not feeling well while traveling and maybe she had told NA her phone's password in case she had medical issues that weekend in AZ. Maybe that was another thing that really foiled CW's plans. JMO.

I think they are clueless. They have no self-awareness and no humility. They may think they can fix any "misunderstandings" the public may have of them by giving more interviews. There is no taking back anything they said or did. They need to slink away into obscurity IMO but I doubt they will take the hint.

It remains to be seen if they will “take the hint” or not.

They appeared to actually show some awareness during the sentencing, when they referenced the optics of their media interviews.

Their statement seemed to acknowledge his guilt, even if other aspects of their statement left a lot to be desired (putting it lightly).

Discovery was damaging, and the upcoming data release will likely be even worse for them.

We’ll see how they respond to all of this, but I fully expect to see them in upcoming documentaries and television news magazine episodes.

How nasty was that, his sister volunteering to take charge of the invites to their engagement and somehow missing the list of 80 or so of Shanann's friends. She probably didn't care if there was trouble over it at the party, maybe even hoped Shanann would run from them.

I was also blown away by the precision of her intuition. IMO, she provided the kind of accurate details that might put a "tipster" in the POI pile. If this were a local person, I have no doubt that she would have been given a lot more attention by LE. IMO

Oh, you are probably right MG-- of course he lied about the phone. He didn't really want to cooperate with police. He only wanted to give the appearance that he was cooperating. How silly of me to take anything he says at face value.

I just can't figure out how he thought his wife could be out of communication all day without that raising any red flags. He knew the girls had to go to school and he called and canceled that. So he was thinking about this a little bit. He must not have known SW's other plans for the day or he just didn't think it through that his wife uses her phone all day everyday to communicate and promote her business. It's baffling but I'm glad he was so dumb and that Shanann had smart and loyal friends and family.

We might. She’s actually been pretty smart about this, waging her vicious attacks and spreading her lies from the anonymity of the Internet.

It’s been incredibly effective, and that’s very unfortunate. Part of her effectiveness is that there is a contingent of people out there who actually want to believe her nonsense.

She’s filling their need to “put Shanann in her place,” or something.
